If you win your rank goes up, if you lose, your rank goes down
So facing against a team with good chemistry could make you lose and hurt your rank
However, I don't feel dividing all the playlists would be wise, nor that stacking should be punished. Grab some friends, or prepare to fight an uphill battle

Totally my fault on that lack of clarity as I'm not a part of the ranked population, but yeah essentially what you said is what makes sense conceptually to me: in a team-based sport, you expect your own performance--which is individually evaluated--to be constantly and heavily impacted by how the teams play. It's like a basketball game, not like a "team" of individual runners competing in a race.

Essentially, if a player does not want an opposing team to be able to impact how the player's individual performance is judged...then only play 1v1.

However, even then there are a lot of variables. You could get bad teammates, they could get good teammates. A game is never going to be completely fair, and a game with 8 players your actions will never be the sole decider of the outcome

basically 4 stacks usually have the advantage (outside of comms and whatnot) because there will be someone of a higher rank playing with them, where they can pretty much dominate the other team who are around the same rank as the rest of the stack

the solo/duos q in ranked didnt allow for 3/4 stacks as the name says. they removed it around a year ago because of a bug but pretty sure it was just because there werent enough players on that side. unfortunately the option still isnt in the game 😔
