Really, I'd just add a small arc to both where it's two sides of them sharing an op or something, with a small snippet of them helping eachother for one op, then going their seperate ways until the full plot starts.

You'd play the Osiris half of that mission in their campaign, get some sniper support from Linda and the rest of Blue Team, maybe establish that Blue Team's been running a bit ragged lately.

Then the Blue half is some other major part of that battle or something.

If it had some more time in the oven specifically to make sure the campaign released with the extra runtime of the cut arc and maybe had some better conflict mediation on the writing side, I think it would've been received way better. I like 5's campaign as is but I still think it needs work.

I like 5 for a lot of reasons but I've never been a fan of switching main characters so often

It's actually one of my favorite elements of the older Modern Warfare series, especially in 2, because it leads to a greater 'big picture' idea of what's going on in the story's world.

As much as people grate on that franchise for being essentially fast food but video games, that method of storytelling was actually very effective at its job, and I think Halo could've learned from it. In fact, Halo did partially learn from it in ODST, but it seems to have forgotten that lesson as fast as it had learned it.

Really, I wish more franchises in general actually learned from that. Battlefield tried to, and then they ditched campaigns entirely; And CoD just stopped doing it entirely in Black Ops 3 on.

Gears did a bit in 3 and it was good for it, because seeing stuff from Cole's perspective was neat. Judgement was kind of a full game squad level exploration of the concept.
