they are just ported back in the day and then 343/Saber made improvements to the original PC ports
im a big GOG fan I just dont think it makes sense for MCC. You dont want to sell versions of your game that prevent players from playing together (co-op is a big part of Halo)
It also just doesn't make much sense to port them separately when MCC quite literally exists already
Like, I don't know how to impress this upon you when both myself and Recon have explained why they're not going to make standalone ports of the older Halo games for PC
Personally, I need Halo CE and Halo 2 (original from xbox classic) but better pc window XP & Vista version
Support widescreen aspect ratio 16:9 ~ 21:9 and resolution 4K ~ 8K
Maybe it would help if you elaborated on a very specific example of something missing
Also as someone who plays on an ultrawide I dont know what other resolutions you need
https://i.imgur.com/ASGS16A.jpeg I cant imagine needing more
Will they ever fix mcc servers? Like as in playing with friends and what not since when we try playing one of us usually has lag spikes
This isnt an MCC server issue. This is how campaign was written 20 years ago. Its reliant on P2P, not Dedicated servers, so theres always someone who lags (not host) and someone who doesnt (host)
And no, they didnt commit to fix it when MCC was still considered active development. In Maintenance Mode the games never getting that
Multiplayer (matchmaking / Custom game browser) is all dedicated servers. Custom Games (outside of the CGB) is P2P.
So its Campaign / Custom = P2P
Matchmaking / CGB = Dedicated
Aahh ok thank you
Yoooo
custom game browser requires xbox gamepass too
(I speak from unforunate experience as an xbox player)
unless I'm misunderstanding what P2P means
Peer to Peer. Networking model
what gamesir g7 se do all use in halo?
how many times are you going to ask that
After a fun week and a half, my cousin (self proclaimed hater of shooters) is thoroughly hooked on the series. We got through the first two games and through the wormhole to the ark before he had to leave.
Planning on gifting him MCC so we can finish all the bungie games together
Woo
Forgot how amazing the skyboxes are
Especially how you can visibly observe how it changes the further you get along the ark
Honestly makes me really hyped for H3A. imagine those beautiful skyboxes with higher resolution. I hope the cutscenes get the same glow up as H2A.
as many as need to be asked
H3A isn't happening. They've not got plans for one
Oh, then my brother is a liar. He told me they were planning a release for 2026. Shame on me for not verifying i guess.
what is your question even about? it doesn't make sense to me
Yeah, hate that when your sibling lies to you
Has anyone experienced stuttering for Halo Infinite on PC?
It only starts for me after playing for a bit, wasn't sure if anyone had fixes. I have uninstalled multiplayer textures. My PC is more than good enough to play the game
These are the kinds of experiences that are such a joy to hear about. What a great memory: introducing your cousin to the world of Halo and seeing him enjoy it for the first time.
I’m curious to why people people dislike the MCC ‘new graphics’ on CE & 2
It changes the feel and the mood of the levels.
In CEA, the hitboxes for trees are completely busted.
Also, 2A removes objects, which still have collision.
And there's the updated models for weapons and vehicles that are straight out of other Halo games.
And the effects, the damn effects. Boy, I sure love not being able to see anything when my Warthog is fuming or when I'm shooting two Plasma Rifles at the same time, but of which aren't an issue in the original Halo 2. Also, Rocket Launcher and Scorpion explosions from CE are completely misleading, the effect being significantly bigger than the actual area of effect.
I got a discussion topic adding Halo 1-5 weapons to infinite and new vehicles
mayb next game
Doubt they'll be bringing over all the weapons from older games into Infinite, it'd take allot of work to do
I can see them getting a Plasma Rifle in via reusing player animations from the Plasma Pistol and Needler but they'd still need an animator for the weapon itself
Thanks for this. As a player who never experienced Halo before MCC, I say I find it enjoyable to be able to switch between versions, but I understand your PoV and it makes a lot of sense.
The resources aren't there for all that right now
Miss the Xbox LAN parties. Before that there was Combat Evolved on old computers
MLG is HCS it still a, thing just different name.
I dont think MLG would do things better than HCS is doing them
It the same rule set just a rebrand
its not even a rebrand like MLG has nothing to do with it. Microsoft is running this afaik
which is major because thats a company thats never falling. they can support the comp even at a deficit
I'm not talking from a company side. I am talking purely game play. As for company side things idk anything. But gameplay MLG plays similar identical to HCS as a gameplay standpoint in esports.
Same rules and regulations just a different name. Ik when 343 took over which is now Halo Studios it turned into Halo Championship Series
Major League Gaming
Halo Champions Series
Wish online tournaments Royale was still a thing
@civic sundial having the covenant carbine would be great
Why did you tag me instead of replying to me talking about how we're not gonna see all weapons come back?
I thought we weren't allowed to talk stuff found in the files here
We're not. Data mined stuff is off limits
It has come up over and over again the last few years, I dont know whats allowed to be discussed anymore 😄
Maybe its okay to say you want something to exist but cant allude to whether its ever been worked on. More vehicles added to Infinite would seem like a positive, not sure it will ever materialize though!
Discussing things you would like to see if fine, including things that were in previous games or not in any Halo games.
What can't be discussed is leaked content of any kind, including items data mined / found in code / have not been formally announced.
MCC differs slightly here, as a lot of that information has been surfaced in some way through Digsite and other highlighted modding projects.
So as an example, we can talk about stuff like CE's cut SMG or Covenant species, since that's stuff which was publicly revealed to us
CE was supposed to have an SMG? I don’t know how I feel about that
Earlier builds feature it and it was in the Digsite Macworld project as a weapon you could find
I imagine before the AR lost the grenade launcher it was gonna feature, it would've served the role of the AR in the release build of the game
Since the AR also had a smaller magazine size in earlier builds
Ohhhhh. That makes sense.
Aye. It was also basically a Space Sten
That’s the AR during the Mac build?
No, this was the SMG in the Mac build
I should've been clearer. This is the Mac build AR
Oh, I see. Now that is interesting on what the smg would looked like in the Mac build. The AR is close to the design is currently in CE, but few differences.
They both had a bunch of different designs before the SMG got cut and the game released in the AR's case
Halo needs the SAW back
Whoever created the mission Cortana needs to be fired 😩 I hate it so much
Well that person didn't work at 343/HS as far as I know
That would be Vic Deleon. I fully believe he's physically linked to any mention of this level and is probably laughing maniacally right now >: )
Hahaha I can imagine lmao. Well Vic Deleon, I hate you 🤣🤣
Actually, Vic did for a while. He worked on Halo 4, 5 and MCC :)
I guess I am mistaken
I do recognise the name. Guess I never knew he was responsible for my least favourite level
Did he have a beard? Or am I getting him confused for a different bearded level designer who worked at Bungie and/or 343?
He had a beard, yeah
And when you think that the mission can’t get worse, you get introduced to these spikey plant things omg
I remembered something about his face!
Yep, I also hate this level. Even speed running it, I always get lost and miss the camo
I actually never used skips until I did Laso runs
I use the sword and brute shot for that mission. Easy to melee the flood and shoot the stalkers on the walls.
I've done a few skips but I'm not well practiced
when I watched Silver for Laso and Frog later on I was stunned about how much I could skip
I play it for the weekly challenges.
Ah, I am doing the achievement where you do that playlist of doing CE, 2, 3,4 on normal
I still need 3,4,Reach on Laso but I am lazy and I hate 3,4 😂
Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 Anniversary good chance graphics
But retain cutscene and unchange gameplay
I hoped Halo Studios (formerly 343 industries) re-release Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 (original from xbox classic) for gog, but enhanced resolution to 4K like xbox backwards on Xbox One X
But also they have zero reason to make standalone rereleases of CE and 2 for Xbox and PC
Personally, somebody love original than anniversary version (from Halo MCC package)
There are some differences between the "original" and whats on MCC, but they are not wildly different enough that a re-release would be warranted 😄
At least, if Halo Studios/343 industries re-release Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 (original) for gog, and better pc on windows XP & windows Vista
It seems like you're just repeating the same thing over and over in the hopes we'll just agree
Like, I don't think you understand what we're saying, there is no logical reason for them to do standalone rereleases for games which are already on PC via MCC
Not going to happen, sorry
If i already have a 2-player halo 3 co-op going on MCC, and then try to do co-op with 3 players, will that erase campaign progress?
Like i mean level progression. I'm aware progress within a level isnt saved in co-op
yo do any of yall how to fix my halo because everytime I load up the game it always get stuck at the start screen
I just about ripped my hair out playing halo CE for the first time on heroic difficulty. I've always started new games on the lowest difficulty settings so I can enjoy them and chill, but I stepped out of my comfort zone ONCE to see what halo was all about with the full experience. Lesson learned, I will NEVER do that again.
I don't get what the hype has always been about now, the flood completely ruined the experience.
The story was good, and the combat with the covenant was good. But the moment the flood appeared I had to take 2 weeks of breaks in between 3 days of attempts
How do you people stand the sheer numbers of them that never let you go more than 5 feet without standing in one spot spraying and praying for 5 minutes
You have to crowd control with the CE Flood and always be on the move.
Also, for the love of God, stop using the AR.
It's the worst weapon against the Flood, besides the Needler which is just plain bad, and the Snipe Rifle, which has a massive damage debuff towards the Flood.
The needler or sniper is no good whatsoever against them. The AR isn't bad in hallways, you can unload a lotta lead downrange and have the shotgun in case they get too close. But otherwise most weapons aren't much use, explosive weapons are a very bad idea because they constantly move towards you, so grenades or rockets are liable to detonate in your face
With a little luck grenades work but not 100% of the time
Learn to love the Plasma Rifle, the Plasma Pistol and the regular Pistol.
I've killed myself throwing a grenade at the flood too often
I like the plasma pistol, the plasma rifle is OK, the regular pistol just aint viable because the scope closes the moment you take damage
Unfortunately every time I faced the flood the only weapons I had consistent ammo available for was the AR and shotgun tho
Because that's what they use against me, so I can loot the ammo and weapons easier
All of which are more effective against the Flood than the AR.
Also, you don't need to use the scope for the Pistol. It works just fine without it and it kills Flood combat forms in about 3 shots.
Eh, the scope makes it easier to hit them from a safe distance tho
I found the AR to be better in the long run, especially since the flood is faced indoors a lot of the time, so that hallway mag dump method worked rather well
It works just fine at close range.
The hard part was just how they blocked your path with sheer numbers. I was constantly being forced to retreat a short distance just to keep up the fight
I fail to see the issue here. Floods are melee centric.
That's why you always gotta be on the move.
It was just too difficult on heroic for a first time player
That's my point.
I've only ever played a little bit of halo infinite and I think a tiny bit of halo 2 multiplayer as a kid, that was it.
I don't wanna say it, but that sounds like a "skill issue".
The Flood overwhelms. You have to adapt.
I literally have less than 20 hours total in the MCC. You clearly forgot what it feels like to be new at a game
ngl I hate people who ever use that argument even once in their lives, because it's the cheapest argument to use...
Everyone has different playstyles, there's no such thing as a "skill issue" unless you're new, and then it's just a lack of experience, not a skill issue
And I adapted just fine to the Guilty Spark, the Library and the other Flood levels back in the day. And many others did.
It sounds like you're having difficulty because you refuse to let go of the AR, which doesn't have much stopping power.
I did adapt
I beat CE already. Just a few minutes ago
It took a frustrating amount of attempts, like I said.
And I did it with the AR mostly, because it worked better for my strategy
I just had to learn from each attempt and plan ahead. Like the rest of you. I'm simply wondering how it doesn't ruin the experience for the rest of yall because it gets extrodinarily frustrating after the first 30 attempts
Sounds like you were square pegging a round hole.
The Shotgun is better than the AR for close range. You should have focused on the Pistol, Plasma Rifle or the Plasma Pistol for longer range encounters.
I never said the shotgun wasn't better.
The Shotgun makes the AR obsolete against the Flood. You should have used the Shotgun in combination of one of the 3 other aforementioned weapons. You made the game significantly harder on yourself.
The AR worked perfectly fine for mowing down Flood in those hallways — medium range is exactly where it works best. Shotguns are great up close, obviously, but in narrow corridors, mag dumping with the AR was more consistent and effective.
Honestly, you’re just circling back to the same point without actually addressing what I’m saying. I’m done here.
The point stands that I will never trust a game on the "authentic" difficulty again.
You're playing it wrong. That's why it took you "30 attempts".
Pretty sure there’s no ‘wrong’ way to shoot guns.
This is halo. You shoot guns and kill things. Not solve elaborate puzzles the right or wrong way
Some things are more effective in one way or another but a gun is a gun
Not all guns are effective in every encounter... Especially the pea shooter known as the CE Assault Rifle.
It worked fine in the hallways, like I’ve said several times now. The AR isn’t anything to laugh at in the tight corridors when the other end is packed with a horde of flood.
Which was around a third of my encounters with the flood since entering an open room with them will get you surrounded in seconds.
So I simply lured them into the hallways and mag dumped, which left nothing more than a pile of corpses in my path.
If it's so good, then why did it take you "30 attempts"?
Specifically BECAUSE of being out in the open. Half the game is moving through hallways, the other half being a sitting duck with little to no cover.
You also can't pick and choose a loadout in the middle of a pile of flood bodies. They prefer human weapons, so you take what you can get.
The Flood aren't known to be particularly difficult at range, especially out in the open. That would be a Covenant problem, not a Flood one.
If I find a plasma pistol or rifle and I know we're out in the open then yeah, perfectly viable, but half the time those weapons were not available.
They were mostly available right up until the flood showed up. And I used them a lot
Perfect for longer ranges, but by the time I ran out, the only other weapon around was an AR
Again. you take what you can get. And an AR was what I got most of the time when weapons mattered the most.
They aren't too difficult to face out in the open UNLESS you get surrounded. Which tends to happen the moment you fire one shot, because they spawn all over the place.
That one shot is like putting a sign over your head that shouts "I'M RIGHT HERE COME SURROUND ME"
So unless you play on the lowest difficulty or mod a silencer into the game, your entire arguments are the opposite of what I experienced through my entire playthrough.
Then walk back? The Flood levels are pretty damn open, with very few hard blocks besides the Library.
Weapons despawn eventually, especially if you die and respawn, which was all too common an occurrence when you don't know what you're walking into
Now, if you'll excuse me, halo 2 is done installing, ima go play that now instead of wasting my time here in an infinite loop
Weapon "caches" don't despawn though. You can basically walk back to the beginning of Two Betrayals if you're crazy enough and still get ammo there.
Hope you enjoy 2! It's an outstanding expansion of the world introduced in CE.
I mean, halo ce was fun ASIDE from the flood's sheer numbers so if the flood isn't nearly as bad in 2 I'm sure it'll be a lotta fun
It's so much more built out, thought out, and better laid out. Truly believe you'll have a blast with it!
They hit harder in melee. You will enjoy the Oracle level. :^)
You can always lower the difficulty with no shame to it. Easy and normal are what id recommend to someone who's new to halo and honestly i think there's some gameplay experiences you miss out on going straight to heroic
Especially as the games go on and stuff like keeping marines alive gets more interesting
I can see how you'd have issues since you're new. unfortunately, you kinda have to know when to stand and shoot, throw nades or just run and gun against them for it to be easier and more fun.
bad news, but I've always found the flood to be more annoying in h2.
They are also stronger overall. At both melee and ranged.
Embed fail...
Are you sure?
Yeah, that's not something we need to discuss here
I hope they actually go back to the halo mega bloks game and release it to steam and what not 🙏
That project is dead and likely not worth trying to revive, especially since it seems like we're not getting any Mega sets any time soon
dont understand why they went with mega blocks instead of lego
Because Lego didn't want to make Halo stuff due to concerns about their image. It's not like it was just a case of Microsoft going with Mega over Lego
its weird since they have a bunch of stuff thats on par with halo on sort of "violence"
star wars even more violent in some ways
lowkey messed up premise in "jabbas palace" lego sets when you think about it
Policies around the use of realistic modern and military weaponry. There are certain things that LEGO will and have permitted, but a lot of Halo's stuff likely wouldn't be allowed even today.
That isn't related to militia violence
Id argue depicting a brothel is more problematic than militia violence
VISR sensors can function with plating in the way of most standard viewing apetures.
never understood why all helmets dont just do that. seem like a pretty serious point of failure to have a regular visor
other than swag
Rule of cool is why some don't do it
right yea
Yeah don't get it why they cover up the whole face and visor
Literally strap a frickin plate on your helmet
oh yeah its strangely redundant but Im also saying having a visor in the first place seems crazy
idk if having the visor under removable plating is better if the systems giving you vision fail
I'd imagine in a realistic situation, wearing the helmet it's just black and dark you cant see nun
Halo is not a realistic situation, but even if it was, the concept of a sensor system (Because visors are not windows) seeing through plate adhered to it is not that far fetched, depending on the extra sensor systems we know it uses and MJOLNIR has passively.
After all, if you complain about this, you also complain about LOCUS.
By realistic I mean in a cosplay situation
Eh. Sensors and cameras can be hidden.
i wonder if someone actually made a locus cosplay
Yup
I wish the VISR equipment was in Infinite
Red Vs Blue fans definitely have. Lots of people love Locus (The character)
I think itd only be this if the systems fail, which is why I see reason for having any kinda typical visor behind it as a fail safe. if the systems fail on something like locus youre screwed for sure
Except Jabba’s Palace isn’t a brothel, it’s a crime lord lair, the issue had nothing to do with military violence, but more so cultural issues and SW isn't exactly a saint of imagery, it has slavery, crime, and literal wars
Yeaaa
sure but it depicts those that work in said place. and like I said star wars is more messed up than halo in some aspects like the ones you mentioned here. which is exactly why its ironic that lego is ok with that and has gone as far as depicting these things in sets while not wanting halo on their image
youve kind of missed my point clearly because youve just made it for me, trying to argue me on it. kinda backwards
I don't think they were referring to Jabba's Palace
Like, Andor season 1 opens up in a brothel
I was in that instance but sure that does happen a lot in the media
I probably am missing your point because it's not making sense, you can clarify if you want
the distinction between a brothel and a crime lord lair is kind of a useless one imo
read up where this conversation started
idk what to tell you bro
is halo 4 worth playing?
its pretty fun
No.
Well, it's a Halo game, so yes.
You miss out more if you skip 4 than Reach tbh
I mean halo 5 is certainly a halo game and I'm still planning on skipping it
I think that's a mistake, but hey, good for you, you are an entity with free will who is capable of enacting it.
is halo 5 not... well... bad?
It's fine.
Youtubers are normally grifters so I wouldn't put too much stock in their opinion and people here tend to whinge about it a ton, but then again, it's Discord.
I'm pretty sure it's playable on Gamepass, either way, so you have nothing to lose but time if you have an Xbox and decide to play it.
halo old heads like to pile into anything that isnt halo 3
Saying something is free on Gamepass is silly because most people don't have gamepass, and gamepass isn't free. Whoops.
anyone who dunks halo infinite will have to answer to me 😎 (I understand what people dislike about it and will respect any opinion that differs to mine)
I guess I'll try halo 5 out if I can considering it's free on the gamepass anyway
It's funny that my biggest issue with 5, by far, is the tight FOV.
Infinite is my personal fave MP tbh
Campaign isn't terrible either but there's def ones I prefer to it
personally I only play halo games for the campaign
Fernando Esparza will remain my favorite character in all of Halo
Fair
Campaigns just get kinda repetitive to me after a while
Halo 5 has some really solid gameplay and level design. Plus it had an SMG at launch, which is a good thing for people like me
I think they nerfed it if I'm remembering correctly.
They sadly did in the weapon tuning update
Which was what? Mid 2017? So we at least got nearly two years of it being nearly perfect
prob won’t get a response, but one can hope
going for h3 legendary times. i saw in an Eli video where he skipped the like third wave of Crows Nest hangar by leaving early
i’ve tried it, idk what im doing wrong
any tips?
(ik this is an Infinite server, but the r/halo server is dead, and im not in any others; not rlly part of the community, js a solo achievement runner)
This server isn't just for Halo Infinite, it's the official Halo Discord for all Halo games
Have you watched any videos from any Halo Speedrunners? They might have some good tips and tricks to help with Crow's Nest hangar and other sections too
i have, they just don’t break down the trick
watching a guy with a 1:08 time for whole campaign, and even HE doesn’t skip the wave
could it’ve been a glitch that was patched?
I cant suggest HaloCompletionist enough, his content helped me get to 700/700 🙂
I dont know the specific trick sorry
It’s actually pretty good.
i use his guides alot
Of the original 3, Halo 3 is the worst one in terms of story.
js sometimes his runs are hella rng carried, so i spend an extra 10m over par cuz of the rng he gets
i personally gotta say h2>h3>h1
They’re wrong. H2 is peak fiction thanks to Joe.
Halo 3 truly is better than halo 3
typo go brr
but still, h2 is arguably the best halo if not for the enemy tuning
halo 3 was great story wise, and the graphics were pretty good for its time
now, of all time, i gotta say that reach was lowk goated
I'm usually all in on puns but that one was just not good at all
Whoever said 3 has a better story than 2 is wasted
yeah
h2 clears all the others in story, but 3 and reach are a close second imo
gameplay-wise, i feel like reach is a little better. the one singular thing i hate is the bloom and that sprint is on cooldown (that’s 2, but leave me alone)
Does halo infinite's campaign beat any other halo game at... anything?
I just need my glorious king to get at least one W 😔
It has the best chief but other than that no
I'd argue it has the best characters personally
6 years of development for a million copy pasted trees and tiles
gameplay maybe
No character comes close to the epic Fernando Esparza
grapple carried that game till it’s back broke, icl
Reminds me of bfv a bit
i do like the movement and stuff tho, feels like a good mix between modern and classic
Fun to play for a bit but it gets you depressed knowing how good it could’ve been
Did anyone else just really dislike the idea of infinite from the beginning being halo for the next decade?
not rlly
i’m the kinna guy that makes (a positive) opinion first, then changes my mind over time due to peer pressure
Its similar to every 343 product - need to set your expectations appropriately
Personally I only play for the campaigns and being left on a cliffhanger for 10 years would... suck
Assume it will launch, have major problems for a while, eventually it will be decent a few years later before they move on to the next thing and repeat
The game is a virtual graveyard of ideas
New things growing then cut at the moment of divergence
It's called infinite because that's what its potential was
You know that's most games, right? Like, it's the same few trees throughout an environment and almost every environment utilises tilable textures because it's just the most logical thing to do
Heck, on The Covenant in Halo 3, all the rocks are the exact same rock. Reusing environment assets is like one of the core things you do in a game
My general, wide sweeping criticism isn’t indicative of a genuine criticism
You want a specific problem? Let’s look at the open world.
There are about 6 or 7 big structures give or take, everything else is some variation of: “ravine, grassy hill, crash, and mountain stream”
Which would not be as big a problem as it is, if there were other things to do then look around at the scenery, unfortunately, every single combat encounter is either random, or a predetermined 5 minute battle in which you might struggle for a bit
And none of the design matters because the grapple lets me do whatever I want
A good open world game feels alive and changes depending on your course of action during gameplay
This feels disingenuous because you're purposely leaving out details like the side objectives, such as the HVTs, Marine Squads and Banished Outposts. I'm not saying Infinite's open world is perfect by any means, but acting like it's just some barren wasteland with nothing to do is just incorrect
It’s not incorrect because those all don’t take very long
They don’t change anything
Eventually you’ll end up going back to some underground gray and blue section running through hallways fighting the same 5 enemies
What do you want from the game, each objective on the map to take 40 minutes?
The valor system in particular kills any sort of incentive to even do those anyway
If it’s fleshed out and contributes, and is also 40 minutes that’s fine
A 5 minute random encounter that’s genuinely supporting instead of a janky phantom drop would be nice too
Random checkpoints on roads that aren’t even in your way to something isn’t what I’d call reason to explore
I don’t despise halo infinite as you probably can infer
But I am frustrated by the incessant fumbling along the way
Pls, don’t we all need this?
Grapple is my biggest problem with Infinite's campaign design tbh.
If I remember correctly what the grapple was I think it was pretty neat. I only played a few hours of it on an xbox once but it was great for mobility.
It might not be what the diehard fans are used to but new isn't always a bad thing
Besides, the earlier halo games had crap for mobility. Not even so much as sprinting
More mobility is the norm in modern day games, a grappling hook in halo infinite is a good thing imo
Kinda like how just cause had one. It was honestly one of the few things that made just cause bearable, the rest of the gameplay is just... average.
My issue is that it trivialized movement, not that it was a bad fit.
I like the grapple mechanics, but it is not something that should have been as spammable as it is.
You are refering to the grapple while on the ground to ground further ahead right?
It should’ve been a method of traversing difficult terrain instead of base kit
I’m not opposed to armor abilities and it’s not that bad in multiplayer but I think there should be an aspect of difficulty in campaign still
One of, but not all, of the ways you can spam it.
And the grapple is basically a way to pass by a lot of thought that helped make the flow of previous games much smoother
As clunky as the “slow” aspect of other campaigns was it flowed well and was adaptable
(I say slow because I don’t have a better way to describe it, if you think halo is slow you need to play more games)
I just wish that I had a grapple in H4 and H3 so the torture could’ve been over faster..
Because I find it a terrible game in comparison to CE & 2
The gameplay feels like a drag, I’ve done quite some playthroughs and it made me want to quit almost every mission except the final one which I kind of enjoyed. Too many different weapons, too many vehicle missions(I never checked the actual stats for like what % of the game you are in a vehicle etc. But you get my point). Fighting big things like the spider robots you destroy was just not my cup of tea and I didn’t feel like I had to do this at all in CE & 2. Not to mention that Cortana is perhaps the most horrible mission created, but I actually can’t put that in there because I find that too much of an opinon based on the lack of my ability to check where to go.
I disliked the ability to have those armor ish abilities that provide shields, life regen etc. Imo, less is more.
This just from on top of my head.
Maybe it helps that I don’t like brutes and H3 had much more brutes than 2.
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 this is what I hear from people who like 3 a lot and that is fine and the fact that there is such an agreement about that aspect means they did the right thing.
Out of curiosity did you play H3 when it was first out or more recently?
I think they’re an example of how to properly change map scale in accordance with experience
You will enjoy tsavo highway and the storm so much more using the vehicles given to you
I played Halo for the first time in the end of 2021 and I started playing it like a few days after I finished H2 Legendary so my first playthrough was legendary also. I didn’t like how the difficulty curve went quite down also.
It’s another bungie over correction
Yes the scaling in 2 was bad but they turned it way down in 3
Interesting, thanks for answering 🙂 I asked because the context of the other games around it really matters in my mind. Sort of like how people say CEs campaign didnt age well (which I do agree with to a point) but considering it at the time is totally different 😄
Can my friend not play online campaign with me if he doesn't have gamepass? I gifted him MCC for $30 but now it's not letting him join
I was thinking that Halo may never get boats or a map with water combat bc Spartans would just sink horribly in water. Unless it's like an ODST Battlefield game or Spartans get some bulbous buoyancy armor
Innies or others should make underwater bases with shields they would be fine
Maybe some toilet traps for armored foes just flush them down into ocean
I think a spartan would be able to get in. Sure they sink, but they can just walk on the seabed over to the base and break in.
Halo finally gets boats but its only for a chesthigh bayou mission
True but if it was to be revived icl i think theyd make quite abit of money from it
Finally did ‘Life Story’ achievement 😄
I've played terraria so I never considered grapple spamming as an issue lmao
But I can see where you're coming from
Man I genuinely hope they get Kelly Gay to write the Infinite sequel, her writing is so good. Plus, Edge of Dawn seems like it’s going to lead into Halo 7 so we can only hope!
I'm just sick of stories never being finished in their games. Halo 4 finsihed with a comic, Halo 5 had it's plot resolved off-screen, now Infinite is getting a book to wrap it up. Even Halo Wars 2 ending with a novel as well despite getting DLC. It feels like Halo has suffered 13 years of indecision. No one seems to be able to just write and finish a story they made.
That’s my main concern with Edge of Dawn, I’m so scared that they’ll wrap up Infinite’s story so that Halo 7 can have yet another repeat enemy. Although statements over the past year does seem to imply that they are interested in continuing the endless plot line
Who would you want in a chief-less spinoff game?
Me.
The Halo universe we see in the games feels pretty small since it's always about the Chief and some variation of Cortana.
Not entirely true. We get characters like the arbiter, noble team, buck and the ODSTs, and *sigh* I suppose fireteam osiris is cannon as well so they deserve a mention. Honestly a good character set might be the arbiter, the pair of extra player elites from halo 3, and Vale from osiris, in like a sangheli centric campaign.
Maybe exploring some of the deeper culture and backstory of the elites, and following thel 'vadam ('vaddam?) Trying to give back the title of arbiter its original meaning and status.
Isn't the "Arbiter" an Hierarch creation? Its original meaning and status would be a mark of shame.
No, the arbiter was originally the warrior-king of sanghelios, but the prophets made the arbiter a title of shame because the arbiter at the time of unification resisted.
I see no reason to assume Edge of Dawn will do this. Given it’s compared to First Strike and touches on Lucas Browning, it sounds like it’s wrapping up threads from Rubicon Protocol and getting things set up for the next Halo.
any good books for novice Halo lore ?
I'd be stoked with another Locke+Tanaka story. Osiris is mostly out due to Vale and Buck leaving, but an ad-hoc team adding two members from Majestic would make sense.
To be honest Vale and Buck are the two members I actually liked.
fireteam majestic would be nice to see return, or maybe one of the fireteams mentioned in infinite that we know nothing about
And they were the members I found the least interesting ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I liked Vale the least. The Elite/Sangheili obsession came off a little too corny and on the nose
anyone else having bad lag at the moment in infinite?
They did not say the novel is going to wrap up everything Infinite set up
Like, I can understand thinking that given 343's history. But a glance at the synopsis makes it pretty clear there is a primary story [save Lucas Browning] and if anything is resolved its elements from Rubicon Protocol. I'd make the prediction that what will likely happen is that the SOS signal sent out at the end of Rubicon Protocol will result in a UNSC rescue force coming at the end of the novel. This then sets us up for the start of the next game. Add a introductory cutscene of Chief saving soldiers, killing Banished, and such at the start explaining his post-Infinite routine, have the UNSC show up, and BAM the next game starts.
I love halo
Aye, I imagine the main things in the novel will be save/attempt to save Lucas, Chief reuniting with UNSC forces already on the ring, showing us how Banished leaders are reacting to the loss of Escharum and Harbinger and Atriox's return, Weapon's name since it would be weird if she is still going by "The Weapon" through the novel after the final scene of Infinite's campaign (Please let her be Joyeuse and not Cortana) and maybe reinforcements arriving. Personally, hoping the SOS signal was picked up by Swords of Sanghelios, not because I want Arbiter to show up personally, but because having it be the SOS instead of the UNSC being the primary group providing support to Chief would be pretty unique
They might as well just give up on games and go full with the books then.
They appear to be more competent in that department it seems.
Why was chief sleeping in the start of CE? Is it because slipspace travel takes long enough that it would cut into the useful time of combat personnel?
If so, then why was he only asleep in CE? there are other times where he should have as well
Like when the In Amber Clad followed regret's ship through slipspace.
Basically this but it may be better to ask that question in #lore-and-universe
Oh, ok
Xbox in a nutshell
I want to play halo, I download halo infinite, get stuck at game launcher because of stupid issues with authentication in msft settings, give up trying to break my PC to fix it, delete the game
I plug in my Xbox one, pull out my halo 3 disc, Xbox revokes access to halo 3 disc, tells me nothing, I look it up online, download MCC collection, requires gamepass subscription
I delete everything and go back to playing steam games and conclude halo is a dead franchise
👍
Halo 3 disc should work, it does for me
Try it, I don’t think it works without MCC
It simply will not play
Strange
Don’t even get an error code, nothing happens, then I look it up and says there is no compatibility
Like every halo should be backwards compatible without porting it into MCC
That is absurd, they literally own the game
Fun fact: you don't own the data on the disc.
They are all backwards compatible (except CE and 2)
They are not
Plug in your halo 3 disc without owning gamepass or MCC
They are, just seems to not work for you
Did you get any update of any kind for the disc
Nothing happens whatsoever
I put the disc in and get no msg
Every other 360 disc that is backwards compatible fires right up
I don’t have live, gamepass or MCC
The only thing I haven’t tried was disconnecting from the internet
The disc doesn’t have a scratch on it
Halo3 is literally installed on my series X and I can put in the disc and play whenever I want.
Are there any Halo Infinite xp farms. Or does it just amount to "play game and do weekly challenges"
I thought those were?
As far as I know, they were only back compat on the 360, but I don't think that transfered to XboxOne.
Nope
I know they were on 360
I don't know a single Original Xbox game that I could put the disc in and play.
Actually I'm going to look it up because now I'm curious
You're right I can't use the discs
I know there are definitely some OG Xbox games that were playable on 360 but not Xbox One and up. I can play my copy of Mega Man Anniversary Collection on my 360 but not my Series X.
There's a few OG Xbox games you can.
Fusion Frenzy is one
But since everything is digital my disc collection is just collecting dust unless I bust out my old consoles
They imo needlessly limited the OG Xbox back compat
Games that didn’t get digital listing very rarely got back compat
On One/Series
Halo CE got delisted after CEA I think, and 2 was never listed
Not a huge deal but I wish they targeted as much of the 360 back compat catalogue as possible
360 back compat is a bit jank, you do get 720p in some games but halo 2 has issues for example
Firefight. It's not perfect but it's the best for grinding exp
If everyone thinks about it, halo reach’s destruction could have been prevented easily
...
Let's hear it...
Think about it, the UNSC had the tech and everything to build better defences around reach
Elaborate.
I’ve been noticing frame drops on halo 2 (being played on Xbox 360). Older game, newer system. It’s like trying to keep up. Not a problem though.
Frames really just drop when in combat heavy sections.
Are CE and 2 (regular) basically dead in social games in the MCC?
2? It's decently popular during the American evening and night hours.
CE BTB is dead, but still somewhat popular in the Custom Game Browser.
Noob question, do Halo and CoD share slang terms (eg chalked, WorldStar, etc)?
No
Ah… ok then, thought they might.
Yeah, you're gonna need to elaborate on this, because everything we know doesn't point to the UNSC having the tech to have prevented Reach from falling
So Uprising is even extremely frustrating on normal… GIVE ME A CHANCE
(Playing old version of 2)
Why give a shotgun to a brute???
Because, The Funny
I hate how normal has to make this one of the most frustrating missions of all time.
Fun fact, in Infinite, FRET is voiced by Robbie Daymond, the voice of SwaySway in Breadwinners
Finally got up top, I’ve had enough of this garbage mission
oh top skip thank god you finally worked
Oh yeah, Halo 2 has terrible balancing issues within the campaign. Bungie crunched a bunch when making it and just didn't properly balance it
And high charity took a shorter time for me than uprising…
Robbie Daymond is in a lot of stuff
Chai in hi fi rush
Vergil in devil may cry anime
Slayer suit in doom
Scar in arcane
River in cyberpunk
Etc.
It’s always fun going down VA rabbit holes cause you always find the most random stuff
You mean to tell me my serious killer robot is in some random Minecraft series?
Hi all, random question about MCC - I've had two Halo 3 acheivements pop recently that I definitely did NOT earn. I can't remember the exact levels but I was surprised when I got them. I think they were:
- Finish Floodgate without dying
- Finish the Ark without getting in a vehicle
I most definitely didn't get these - but they showed up as soon as I finished the levels. Has this happened to anyone else?
I think, I might have saved and quit the game close to the end of each level and then came back later. In that last playthrough I didn't die or get in a vehicle - so maybe the achievement detecting bug only counted my gameplay from the last point I loaded the level?
What’s the question 😝
2nd sentence of 2nd paragraph
He's also great as a cat most curious from the Ever After and as a certain Detective Prince
you got it right yes
That's a hell of a loophole. I'm guessing they'll be plugging it soon?
damn I totally read over that, my bad!
Recon18 answered your question - glad you found the loop hole lmao 😄
Yeah, in a vacuum that makes sense. But you have to understand that at that point we had been fighting for 30 years, and any resources that could be used to defend a planet that at that point was very protected would be better spent elsewhere like defending or evacuating a planet that’s being actively invaded.
doubt it, but congrats on the free cheevos.
Hey guys, Is halo 5 making a comeback? I swear I just saw a YT video. Apparently, mp and warzone have been updated and queueing into games is much quicker now.
No updates to the game have been published as far as I know
That's manufactured hype from content "creators".
Aww man.
Fall of Reach is very foundational though you do need to reconcile that it tells a different series of event than Halo Reach the game.
Contact Harvest is fantastic and tells the story of first contact between humanity and the covenant.
Ghosts of Onyx is also really good but its followed up by a trilogy by a different author and i struggled to get through the first book of that and gave up on the second.
If you played Halo 3 then I'd recommend Hunters in the Dark, its got some awesome scenes and features elites being elite while being mostly standalone from what i remember.
Soo… when are those Halo Wars 2 dev tools dropping? 😁?

Hello everyone. Please tell me how to register my team in the game, there is nothing on the site
What do you mean "register my team"? You don't need to form a team to launch multiplayer, matchmaking will find you a team
Like..ready up?
Are talking about hcs?
Sadly, Halo Studios/343 Industries never port Halo 5 for Xbox Series X/S and PC
The game can be played on the Series X/S, it just doesn't have a full PC port
Question, Halo 4 Spartan Ops, how enjoyable and challenging are these on Legendary in comparison to like the campaign of all halo games?
Take my advice, use Bandanna and Acrophobia, both those skulls will make it far easier
Aight will do brother 🙂 I am annoyed that there are AI ‘teammates’ who can’t keep their behinds out of a vehicle lol
You mean the marines?
Yes
I need to make sure they die all so I can use certain vehicles from a distance. Annoying that I cannot control them
With Acrophobia on and a heavy weapon like a SPNKr or Fuel Rod, you can do fly bys on enemies
Aight I will start with that when I am up for it. My brain is toasted and I am just doing some braindead playing with Guns of Fury. Fun game btw
Fair
Also beam rifle is OP with Bandanna turned on, you will just shread shields and infantry with it
I am looking forward to the challenge. I cannot muster to do LASO atm but this seems like a good replacement until then
Halo 5 works fine on the Xbox Series S / X, and it already has a 4k update to it. Works fine on the Series X.
I didn't find it fun at all and was just a slog to get them done. only good thing was you get more lore.
It's torture.
The cheevo ain't worth it.
If there’s an achievement, it’s worth it.
Me and my cousin are now on reach after finishing the bungie trilogy, and boy is he about to get hit by a bag of bricks. Kat is his favorite, because she's the most intelligent, and we just got to New Alexandria. He predicted Jorge's death, but he thinks the rest of the team will die in the following order: Emile, Kat, Carter, 6. It hurts me inside knowing what's about to happen.
Especially considering she has the most unexpected death.
Well, wouldn't want to deny your friend one of the most profound gut-punches Reach will deliver. 'Happy for them
Oh I definitely won't spoil it.
Oh, for sure. Didn't mean to imply that. I just meant they won't be prepared for it, given their anticipated order. So they'll still feel it.
I personally am not one for trying to anticipate that kind of thing... just flow with it, see what the writers/developers made, no expectations.
when you send a hand written letter to Halo Studios office (I don't actually know this just seemed like a cool idea, you're free to try it out just don't make them make posts asking people to stop sending them letters)
LOL omgg, yess
this is my destiny
Wierd thought. Jorge might still be alive. The slipspace bomb was effective because it opened a wormhole that transported everything inside its radius either to some random destination or just dumped it to spend eternity in slipstream space. So, theoretically, Jorge could be alive still. The corvette he was on should have slipspace capability and thus be able to survive sliptream space, so as long as he can source food and water beyond what his suit can hold, he should just be chilling aboard the corvette either lost in slipstream space or just in some random part of the galaxy.
Random part, but that means supplies
He has an entire covenant corvette of supplies (once he conveniently removes the remaining occupants)
Whatever jackals eat might not taste the best, but food is food
But that was decades ago
There's also the wreckage of half a CSO supercarrier just sitting there full of supplies. (Assuming it got teleported to the same place, which it should have because it was the same wormhole)
So, sometime in the distant future, a post-covenant multi-species exploration group crewed up with covenant species and humans runs onto Jorge surviving in the corvette and wreckage, and now Jorge has to try his best to not kill all of the aliens because he's just learning the war has been over for 30 years. Meanwhile an actual alien conspiracy is taking place aboard the ship, which would cause confusion both about whether or not the aliens are killable and which ones need killing. Look at that! A book plot!
Well, more like a book synopsis
An actual plot would need a lot more workshoping.
The bomb tore everything within its radius apart. Jorge is dead
Reach takes place in the same year as the original trilogy, it was not decades before
Talking present time
Jorge is super mega dead. Even if we assume the chunk of corvette Jorge is on somehow is capable of surviving the slipstream, the sheer radiation from the bomb? More than enough to atomize Jorge.
In halo
Infinite isn't multiple decades after Reach, it's just under 8 years
Wow
I wanted to answer Super Earth VS the covenant so I played Halo reach Halo CE and Halo 2 My conclusion Super earth is crushing those bums
I beat Those 3 games with like 15 deaths each
The Covenant were bums the flood was a Joke
I understand the lore is terrifying but I saw something completly different
I did that back in the day, the hand written letter that is, back when bs angel was the community manager. Got a custom Mister Chief and Halsey drawing from Frankie because of it.
Why didn't Kat's shield save her?
We don't know why her shields were down
All of this Kat getting whacked curfuffle could have been avoided if Reach had the Beam Rifle, but alas...
Kat’s shields were down due to the glassing impact ara aon New Alexandriaby the covenant ships. There was a huge surge of radiation from the glassing which fried her shield’s circuit. And also the glassing impact near noble team position at the end of the level was one of couple factors for her shields not working.
Thought I was gonna do bad in CE multiplayer last night, I got 16 kills!
And we even had a mostly afk player too!
Needle Rifles don't, canonically, have a reasonable level of kinetic energy to actually do what the one did in Halo Reach.
That's the whole reason why a Beam Rifle would've made sense but a needle rifle doesn't. You can't even headshot kill ODSTs or Marines in Halo Reach with a needle rifle unless you hit the latter's unarmored face.
what difficulty?
A beam rifle would make sense yes. But one shot from needle rifle to head on unsheled was all it took. If her shelds were up at full capacity would it have prevented her getting killed? Or was it just a lucky shot from the elite field marshal?
The point is that the needler shouldn't have done what it did. Anything else is mostly irrelevant.
The Needle Rifle was also seemingly the elegant choice... it was perhaps the sound the designer(s) wanted at that moment, mechanics aside. I've always found it very poignant at that moment, like glass shattering.
That's... Certainly giving a lot of credit where credit frankly isn't due.
I always found it amusing that that scene is basically the best example I have of pointing out that the needle rifle 'projectile' in Reach is literally just a recolored beam rifle effect with a crystal impact fx.
Also, the elite in the cutscene is holding a focus rifle, not a needle rifle, which is extra funny.
I think they were originally going to have the focus rifle fire like the beam rifle, then when it eventually changed they kind of went 'well crap we need a gun that can do this' and just threw the needle rifle effect at the problem and called it good.
What do you think on why Kat’s shields were down? Some fans of said it logically possible the glassing impact at the end of the level emp here shield. Do you think this was the case or something else?
Maybe? But it doesn't solve the problem of that being something the plating itself should've been perfectly capable of tanking.
Her armour's shield systems being fried is not something conveyed to us at all in the game, nor is it confirmed her armour was no longer able to create energy shields
They are releasing a new book finishing Infinite's story. Why not just adapt the book for the game?
The book isn't "finishing Infinite's story" and it's been said to be like what First Strike was to Combat Evolved and Halo 2
I got a Google notification that an Infinite sequel had been announced and people were mad, came here wondering HTH they managed that so fast after the engine switch, find out it's a book
Now it makes sense
Gamers being upset due to illiteracy makes sense
Personally I've been kinda of wanting a new Halo book
the yoroi coating for jorge covered this
I could imagine a modern rerelease of halo 2 in all its glory, with all its content on the current Xbox.
Should I read halo first strike in between ce and halo 2 or just go straight to halo 2?
Doesnt really matter tbh. I feel like if you just want to experience a more simple story, then definitely jump into Halo 2. But if you wanted the expanded story with more knowledge and lore then definitely read first strike.
First Strike basically just bridges the gap between the two games. It's a good novel but it's not required to understand anything in CE or 2
Ok
What do you all think about Fall of Reach?
fun fact, a standard needle rifle round wasn't actually used in the cutscene, but it was a different more powerful projectile that just looked like one.
its amazing
I want enhanced Halo 5 for pc (via steam) someday
Enhanced Halo 5 (Black undersuit edition)
Would be cool if Mcc ever dropped Xbox one to add it there
I'm gonna check it out
Damn. I have been missing out on this server....
where do i find Halo mcc server?
you're in it
Is Infinite having server issues at the moment? I’m getting wild latency and packet losses
It gets good at around…. The start
@silk musk share that in #1076327824924872755 🙂
agree
The Weapon's name isn't going to be Cortana and for anyone who still thinks this is even a possibility needs to stop thinking that now lol
Isn't it going to be "Joyeuse"?
I never said I wanted it to be Cortana
Like, I made it clear I don't want Weapon to be called that
Practically everyone who wrote Halo Infinite's campaign left the company either the day the game came out, or less then 1 - 3 months after it came out. Honestly not sure what anyone expected, this was going to happen no matter what (a time skip of some sort) so the new writers can make something new for the next game.
You'll still have reoccurring characters and all obviously from Halo Infinite, but yeah.
It's wrapping up threads from both Halo Infinite & whatever Rubicon Protocl had to set up the next game.
I expected something different for once. I feel like I can't get any bit of hope with anything Halo related because someone working on it will run up and throw a bomb in my face. We've basically just had 13 years of every plot being pulled out from under us. YAY! FUN!
I didn't say you did, I'm just saying anyone who still thinks that needs to stop thinking that. Not even the guy who wrote Halo 5 would say "Lets name the Weapon after the bad guy from WW2" which is basically who Cortana turned into.
The new novel was compared to Halo First Strike, which bridged the gap between CE and 2. I doubt it's going to be resolving everything which is left unanswered in Halo Infinite
Unless I missed it, nothing has been announced
I know I know, what I mean is that it was theorised, sorry for not explaining it well
I think that was front runner from the community, yeah
Also I think it sucks really hard that Guily Spark kind of ends his story on a happy ending after being such a problem. Feels weird, it really feels he should've never been revived in anyone, really blows the wind out of Johnson's death in a few ways. It's almost as stupid as Vader dying to kill Palpatine only for him to return. Not quite there but almost.
Spark was given a tragic side to him thanks to the Forerunner trilogy showing where he came from and how he eventually became a "Light Bulb". But wasn't an evil person like Palpatine was
Like, Spark shouldn't have killed Johnson, but his rampancy was affecting his decison making
It's wrapping up loose threads from both the game & the book, that's about all we know so far.
Obviously it's not going to resolve everything, 1 single book rarely does that anyhow.
Tell me what about this confirms it's wrapping up loose threads
It mentions it's bringing some threads from Rubicon, but it does not say it's wrapping up everything
Even says so right here -
This is indeed a story set in the immediate aftermath of Halo Infinite’s campaign, tying in with some story threads from The Rubicon Protocol—one of Kelly’s previous novels.
In some ways, Edge of Dawn might be thought of as similar to First Strike, where we sat for a while with the** immediate fallout of the events that transpired in Halo: CE**, dealing with some of the things we learned while embarking on a new adventure.
That's not wrapping up threads
Wrapping up means finishing up stories, which they don't say here
I am now convinced you don't understand what story threads are.
so this convo is pointless because of that lol
I know what story threads are, it just sounds like you're making up things about the new novel
Obviously it's not going to resolve everything, 1 single book rarely does that anyhow.
but it will involve things that happened in Halo Infinite & wrap them up for the next game
exactly what idk
Lucas Browning is one of the ones that gets pointed out directly, he was in the audio logs that you can find in Halo Infinite.
saying this won't happen is willful ignorance
Some things may get wrapped up, they might not. We won't know until the book actually releases and people read it
Willing to bet it's going to set more things up involving the Endless
I wonder what name would fit her.
Anna.
There we go. I got it.
Joyeuse is right there and fits thematically with her more, especially considering where Cortana's name came from
The guy had been manipulated since birth and turned into a machine that served said manipulators.
If anyone deserved some kind of happiness it’s Chakas.
How does one even pronounce that.
Sounds like a headache of a name.
The meaning of the name however does fit.
I feel like I can name like 15 different characters in Halo with a worse life off the top of my head who didn't even get a grave. Not to mention apart of the reason I'm not a fan of his happy ending is they they wrote lore to make him not who he was in the games. I don't really like it when a character is rewritten, I'd just rather have a new character. Also it's just weird that they made him a person instead of a robot. I think 343i was just attached to GS because of their company name.
It's been a long time since I ever played a good halo. But I would cap the game with 8 playable races that includes Spartans. I would like it if the next halo just expands playable races then just sticking to boring old Spartans. If diversity is the goal of halo then they should take my approach.
I remember seeing videos of people who modded Halo 2 so they could play as the Covenant and thinking that by now we'd have a Firefight mode where you could play as any race not that we'd barely get Firefight in games.
I’d rank having your entire line orchestrated by “higher powers” and then having your body and mind wiped away for thousands of years to be pretty hard to top.
Honestly, it’s just going to have to come down to preference. I appreciate them taking a fairly one note character and giving him some depth.
I feel like everyone who got infected by the Flood beats that out but if you think otherwise that's your thoughts but the problem with everything that happened to GS after Halo 3 is just that he exists after Halo 3. Let a dead character die, especially when their death is invoked with so much power. Stuff like him coming back and Cortana are why we have so many people who think Noble 6 is in a cave right now. Even Jega is coming back. It's not a matter of them being machines or even subtle ways of them escaping, it's the dodging of death. Once you do that in a series it's a can of worms that can't be closed.
Ok, sure, those infected by the Flood have it worse. But by that logic we can’t discuss ANY character struggles and tragedy in Halo because Flood victims had it worse. It’s so reductive that it borders on ridiculous.
Overall though, I’d agree in general that death should be the end. When dealing with mechanical beings I do think there is a bit more leeway you can afford, especially with the idea of backups or hiding within computer systems goes. Folks like Six getting stabbed and burnt to glass is a little less ambiguous. I’m sure you’ll try to argue otherwise, but whatever.
Point is, yeah you do open a can of worms and it’s not always good. Cortana being a prime example.
Still, I liked Chakas as a character and enjoyed his journey from humans to machine to insanity to clarity.
I'm not trying to say don't like him, not wanting to put someone on a cross for opinions, I just think undoing death is a very stupid trope and I feel like his is done so much worse then the average because it's one of the last things Johnson helps you do before he dies and GS gets the happy ending after backstabbing him. Also on the matter of other tragedies, eh, kind of. That's another weird angle with the Flood though. It becomes really hard to hype up anything because you have this giant middle finger to existence waving it's arms around and making everyone's life worse. There are just tiers to the suffering and in Halo it's hard to feel bad for the guy who survived the flood compared to the guy who didn't.
I’m not saying you are putting anyone down. You don’t like what they did, I just offer a different perspective. That’s all.
As far as the Flood making caring about other tragedies harder…that seems completely arbitrary to me.
At that point it’s almost like downplaying bad things that happen to others in one country because worse things possibly happen elsewhere. It’s just cutting down on empathy for no reason.
I think there's confusion here. No hostility, just poorly typing out what I'm trying to say I think.
You're saying that like every death in Halo has been reversed but Johnson's. Last I checked, outside a couple deaths, death has stuck. Like, Noble Team (Excluding Jun), Kurt (Who's fake and real deaths both happened in the same novel), Jacob Keyes, Miranda Keyes, Truth, Regret, Tartar and Jul all have remained dead since being killed off. Cortana coming back has always been a point of contention, with most agreeing it was bad to have brought her back, and Spark's survival was revealed to us in the Forerunner trilogy, so it was a thread that needed to be pulled on one way or another eventually
I feel like that "Noble team (Excluding Jun)" line perfectly sums up my feelings on the matter. It doesn't have to happen all the time, it's that it does happen at all which becomes the problem. You can make any logic to get someone out of dying but that doesn't change the fact that you robbed death. Jun is once again in a weird spot with his life now as well which makes it even more annoying because he's been in two "IS HE DEAD?!?!" situations as a character. All this does is do like I said above, and promote the Noble 6 is in a cave stuff because those people say "If X did it then why couldn't Y?" and plenty of writers think the same way too it's why even James returned. Can you write it that he lived, certainly, should you make him live instead of just introducing a new character?
Jun was never said to be dead in the first place
Jun’s not that complicated. He left with Halsey and simply made it off Reach. Pretty sure even Halsey in First Strike mentions she volunteered to stay at CASTLE to blow it up indicates there was an evacuation of some kind. You can easily reason out Jun surviving. With Infinite, so long as he wasn’t on Laconia Station he could be anywhere.
Can you explain this more?...Further? Eh, proper English is borked.
Jun took Halsey to CASTLE Base, an ONI facility on Reach. Carter tells him to in Halo: Reach. The book, First Strike, has Halsey as the sole volunteer who sticks behind at CASTLE to blow it up. Given she volunteered to stay, it stands to reason everyone else there who could left. Jun probably just left with them.
Sounds like some sound logic to me.
There was nothing there to suggest he died between when we last saw him and Halsey in Reach and when we see Halsey in First Strike and given the evidence we did have back then, it was the logical option
And while it's been a while since I read First Strike, I'm pretty sure Halsey at no point mentions there being any casualties during the evacuation of Castle Base. While sure if Jun had died there, it would be a retcon to First Strike, it would still be weird for Halsey to not mention a Spartan from a group she did not have involvement with dying to keep her safe to her own Spartans
I heard next halo in a book i am not a book reader
It’s not.
I think alot of confusion around the new book is some article titles out and about. One I saw was flat out saying that Halo Infinite was now just a book. So clickbait is out there clickbaiting.
Noble 6 survives in a cave not because others have ambiguous deaths or come back but because we believe
After all spartans never truely die, theyre just missing in action
Not to rain on the "Six is alive" parade again but Six is confirmed dead
Like, "super dead" dead
nah
It has been confirmed many times, including both Bungie and 343 Industries that Noble 6 is dead. Dead as super door nail dead. He is not coming back. There is no need continuing beating a dead horse.
There's not even a dead horse to beat, it's just dust and echos
Interesting that your sources are a studio that no long works on halo and one whos name just so happened to be scrubbed and rebranded. Coincidence or the signs of manufactured insurrectionist propaganda to undermine our valiant troop in mjolnir?
Does anybody know where the moa statues are this week?
Bungie confirmed it both in the game and in interviews a few months after launch
I don't get why 343 rebranding to Halo Studios is important to Six being dead. Also it's not propaganda
Yall really cant read tone huh
Thanks so much. I just did the covenant and missed those moas dammit
It's hard considering the amount of people that pull up the conversation and are dead serious about it
Sarcasm in text isn't always obvious
Kat is dead. My cousin's response: "but she's the smart one! They can't just kill off the smart one!"
Idk. If she survived, Noble Team would have died from her driving skills.
The solution is to go 2 player. One of you drives, the other shoots, and Kat can sit there as a passenger.
She actually is probably the least replaceable out of noble
Presumably without Operation Upper Cut the the POA might have never made it off planet
And other then Jorge she’s the most developed character, unlike the other 4
Say what yall want about halo 5 but that cover art went HARD
It’s alright
In MCC I’m lvl 527. Last I played was launch and I think back then u only got spartan points for the first 100 levels. Does this mean I’m missing about ~400 spartan points?
Just wondering how the system works and y I have no spartan points at such a high level. I only competed 2 series and bought nothing from the exchange
you get points by completing challenges which are the gold ones and you get two for completing a monthly.
Well, we can start by confirming you're not level 527 😄
it used to be restricted to the first 100 levels, it was later changed to be every level and the difference was rewarded retroactively (if you were level 120 you were given 20 SP)
With all of those details in mind Lukepowa is right, in addition to the possible 330 SP from getting new levels, you get them from weekly/monthly challenges (and they are labelled with a number next to the SP icon if they give them) 😄
Oh, and the weeklies are split into pvp (matchmaking / CGB) and pve (matchmaking firefight /campaign)
oh, I forgot you get a point for leveling progression ranks up to a certain one.
Tour 5 level 27 I think is level 527?
U also get points for leveling up and isnt there 100 levels per tour? Im tour 5 level 27
There are 30 levels per tour. There are 330 levels total
Tour 5 Level 27 = 147 out of 330
Makes more sense. Damn the spartan point system is brutal then. It takes 4 ever to level up now and the challenges suck and u get barely any points from them. Would take me a year maybe to catch up on all the series and that’s without spending anything on the exchange
At one point they increased the number of spartan points per week (it was roughly double)
It was removed immediately after that week and never came back
We also havent had a double XP weekend in years now
thats pretty funny
I'd give you mine if I could since I have no use for them, lol.
No kidding 😦
I really wish they would do more double and triple XP events and fine tune the challenges a bit. It’s not asking for a lot.
Does anyone know the armor core for the UA/SECOPS Plate and the TAC/Thornblade?
Halo reveal at Xbox Showcase Sunday? Y/N?
M
Infinite update? Maybe.
An other Halo game? Nope.
i feel like showing an infinite update is less likely for some reason
Extremely unlikely, like 0%
ive made a bunch of progress on steam mcc but none of it has transferred to my xbox any clue why?
idk where i can ask this but when i go from a xbox one s to a xbox series x can i still play the campaign with xbox one people
Yes
What do you mean when you say progress?
I have the same problem, my achievements did jump over though
Do you mean you started a level, swapped platforms and tried to continue where you left off or that things have entirely reset with career progress?
Man..I just started up the Heavy Anticipation playlist for Halo 3 and I was wondering why it felt so difficult all of a sudden…I didn’t see that it was Legendary difficulty and expected normal lol
Skill issue
Same
Hello. I just came back to Halo: MCC, after a long break. I have never been a multiplayer guy, I only played it to get some spartan points from the challenges. Basically, I suck at Halo Multiplayer. Regardless of the part of the game. I would like to get better at it.
Is there anyone who could teach me please? Stay on call with me, watch my game on screenshare or anything else. I'd really like to get better.
you'd probly have better luck just playing games in the custom game browser for a bit to get used to the weapons and maps with no pressure to do well.
If you wanted to record an entire game you played where you felt things went really well for you and send it to me, I could give you some suggestions 🙂 Its really hard to know where to start.
Also strongly strongly suggest playing Action Sack. Its much more forgiving and lets you get your feet wet.
You could look up map tricks video, but you'll have to learn most of everything else on your own. Pick one or two Halo games you like. Learn the maps and practice. Tinker with the control settings until you feel comfortable. Find like-minded players and party up with them.
It's a long road ahead, and you will get wrecked multiple times.
After playing Halo Reach, Halo 1 and, Halo 2 and Helldivers 2
I have come to the conclusion that super earth would beat the covenant
When we getting halo 7
Personally, next year at least
The largest covenant fleet was 500 ships
The largest super earth fleet was 150,000+ ships
Super Earth can lose 300 super destroyers per ship and still win
You guys barely held super earth because the bugdivers couldn’t do anything besides die
I’m aware of the satirical nature of super earth but let’s not pretend that most of if isn’t just cannon fodder
Now we have fleet of 150,000 bot divers then we can talk
TBH in empire VS empire debates Super Earth is criminally underated
It’s fairly rated because Helldivers shenanigans for better or worse are canon, the quality of a fighting forces fleet is nothing if the people piloting it are morons
Mostly because people don't know how the verse lore works.
To most other fandoms helldiver's are expendable nobodies
Anyone who knows the lore knows that helldiver's are the literal 1% in a war-like society that has its population training from the age of 7
And
Super earth has a rather TERRIFYING ability to copy and improve any tech they get their hands on.
I don’t think anyone’s saying their weak but we’re also talking about the covenant here
I’m still taking super earth
Super Earth is the UNSC on steroids with an affinity for war crimes
Don’t want to interrupt you theorycrafters, but that stuff has happend already
1996 Space Jam - aka Covenant vs Super Human(Michael Jordan aka Master Chief)
MJ would cook Master Chief
This is due to the fact the Chief was taken as a young child and has probably never played basketball
Just dropped 42 and 5 vs Summit1g 's squad on his stream with a win. Felt great
Hi everyone, does Halo Infinite have rpg elements?
You can upgrade the equipment you get during the game, but Halo Infinite is not an RPG
Should I read first strike before or after halo 2
either
first strike and odst can be read/played after 1, 2 & 3, or in between the games
👍
Noble team would realistically have all died in New Alexandria.
Not because of the glassing, but because moments before they were hit by an absurd amount of radiation.
I still say that it was just detecting the source, not the ambient radiation near them.
Kat saying 'that close' was likely more a panicked and immediate response, because, y'know, Spartans can still be panicked by an entire room exploding. Nothing about her comment implies that it's the radiation in the air around them.
No halo news at Microsoft showcase. Chat are we cooked
We ain't cooked, we're atomized.
We are not, HS just wants to do their own thing
How very optimistic...
Um, what?
I tried to delete and repost a message so it was a reply, but now its being deleted
Is it some sort of protection against spam by deleting copy-pastes?
Yes
Ah, ok
The thing is, the roentgen is measured by the change of electric charge to a given volume of air via ionizing radiation over a given time, and is stated as measured by the detector's current position, not at the source. That means the device Kat was holding was likely some far-future dosimeter, with the reading being taken from where they were.
Ok, there we go

ty ty
I highly doubt Bungie actually understood in the slightest how any of that works.
Not the first time they did so.
Either way-I feel the interpretation of her merely detecting the source and Bungie's scriptwriters not really understanding how Roentgens work is not any more competent than Star Wars writers not understanding how plasma works, and fans filling in what would make more sense because... well, writers have no sense of science tropes.
Fair enough
Have they fixed the xp on battle for academy
star trek exists (and is completely irrelevant here) (edit: I only just realized I was 6 hours late to this, mb)
I wanna know why Halo Infinite's next big update isn't getting advertised properly. Twitter posts aren't cutting it.
It was announced at the last stream???
That was summer?
Operation Legacy?
Oh, those arent really updates
It's the "Halo 3 update" to anyone who even gives remotely a hoot.
Halo 3 Armor is being added. Grifball
Ok not all ops have updates and if they do, they are most likely bug fixes
Shouldn't it be advertised a little heavier
You'd think people would want to know about that, especially since it's Halo 3, the bestest game ever made ever.
Its every 3 months that a big update comes out
I feel like you're not getting what I'm saying so I'm going to stop
I do, I just split terms up because people get confused if ya call every op the same thing, update wise
And believe me, people get confuse
Not even remotely my problem if people cant understand that.
Also, you can already play grifball in custom games, since its just a forge made mode
They uploaded it there awhile back
Not grind exp for it.
Which is what the matchmaking playlist let'syou do, which is what some wanted
Yeah, i know, I play the game
The legendary Dragon Ninja returns 🐉
Get ready to earn the Hayabusa helmet in the HAYABUSA ZOKUHEN bundle available in The Exchange starting tomorrow through July 8.
#OperationLegacy arrives June 10! https://t.co/Thc0TTf8hw
no way
Yes way
Looks like Team Ninja and Tecmo gave Halo Studios the okay to use Hayabusa helmet for Infinite.
Holy beans, it’s back! This was NOT on my Halo 2025 Bingo card
Can someone answer a question
no one can answer questions here that's impossible
HUH?!?!
i am bewildered!
What game are you playing?
Is it the Microsoft Store version? If so, there is an issue matchmaking searches and it doesn't work at the moment. No known workarounds unfortunately
It was the pc gane pass
Got it for free
Maybe that's the issue. Thanks for the info!
Are devs joining lobbies just to help player count or something? Had 343 BobGan in my game may as well have been asleep
Thats a bot?
Is it?
343 is in the name
Assumed it was a dev lmao, arguably worse I've got bots in a matchmade lobby
It should have a tag like bot or something like that
It had [ODST]
That is a bot, yes. 343 (name) [odst] is the bot name structure.
Yikes, people not a fan of this mutilator game mode or something? Or just a dead game?
I'll take that as the latter then lmao
Probably the former tbh, it wasn't the greatest fun I've had in a mode
Are theater films going to break tomorrow?\
Best to assume so.
If the Hayabusa helmet is gonna be an exchange for Halo Infinite i really hope it's not more than 10K points
It’s definitely going to be over 10000
Probably like 30-75k range
maybe even 100k who knows
but yeah definitely way more than 10k
that haunt helmet from reach is like 75k
ugh, gonna take me so long to get.
if it actually is only available from later today until July 8th, I'm assuming it'll be 45k, maybe 50k personally
I’ve got an idea that I will not only put Halo back on top but also print money. We’re not talking small or moderate success either, we’re not interested in that. The cool thing is the devs already have sort of a blueprint playable in Halo infinite already.
🤨
Cut out the fat. Drop campaign and pvp. I don’t think the traditional halo game is going to work anymore. Focus on firefight, but bigger, better and more epic. Large scale battles with 32 players. Scripted action sequences at random. Huge maps. You’re taking the core gameplay loop that makes Halo fun and cranking it to 11. These modes are in customs games already but they need to build on it and make it better. I’m telling you, this is the golden ticket for Halo. Anything else is just not going to cut it.
exchange items are there permanently.
Hold it there, bud! Drop campaign?

Yep drop it.
You lost me there
drop PVP too
Campaign is the primary reason I play Halo
Drop pvp?
That's definitely a take, I'll say that
Gosh darn, removing a lot of halo staples?
Basically, take halo 5, strip it and only preserve warzone
Dropping a lot of Halo staples does not make any sense.

Oh I’m aware it’s going to lose some people. But I just don’t think they can execute the three pillars with great success anymore. It’s just too big of an undertaking. And the results are going to be uneven. Again, print money. And they can still do campaign and pvp with another dev team.
I dont think some
crazy take
That is pure nonsense
Some people? Try a very large chunk of the fan base. That would affect multiple sub-communities
dude wants a hell divers clone. that's what people were saying about br's years ago too when they were hot.
HCS, just gone into vaporware
Was for a second, now it is no longer vaporware.
Look Halo has to do something different. It can’t just keep doing the same thing over and over. The young crowd don’t even know what Halo is lol. Hell divers is a good blueprint, but Halo is a much bigger IP. There’s not many games doing this.
I don't want a Helldivers clone for the next Halo
Certainly a take
they did do something different with an open world campaign.
If I wanted to play Helldivers I'd play Helldivers
If halo “dropped” the campaign and just cut the story entirely I’d stop playing
I am here for the campaign
what it showed was changing something doesn't guarantee success and it's usually not just one thing that causes issues.
Pvp is on the side
now if Halo Infinite got a full warzone update, it'd be amazing since it's a much loved and missed game mode! I love and enjoy PVE & PVPVE game modes. But Not being able to do PVP shenanigans or play a story would kill why I play Halo and turn it into nothing more than a skinned clone of another game
I'm here to drop hot, spicy facts and takes on people who complain about campaigns.
warzone was also something different.
I wouldn't mind them shaking things up and having a dedicated multiplayer component which is updated with every new campaign with new weapons, vehicles and other stuff, but I imagine something like that will still be controversial
Can we also take a step back and just talk about how halos story is just fat to that? It being a story told through games doesn’t mean that the story can’t be told
How is everything in this universe just fat
I like the campaigns and pvp too. Halos moment to moment gameplay is phenomenal. Fighting against the ai has always been the critical component that ties everything together. Think about it, large scale epic battles against the covenant with 32 players. You could even switch it around and have the players play as the covenant. Reach a new audience, blow the doors off Helldivers and rake in profit. There’s just so much potential with this. You could have raid like mechanics, nothing complex as that would be impossible to coordinate with 32 players but you could do something where you got to split off into groups to tackle objectives in order to progress through the map.
Throwing more players in doesn't mean it's gonna be successful
If anything, balancing the enemies around 32 players is gonna be a nightmare
It's bad enough when content balanced around 4 players is played solo (Spartan Ops)
Something to remember as we discuss this: all of these different opinions are coming from a desire for the IP to be healthy and last long into the future. There are different methods and thoughts, and what sounds like a crazy "diet" to some might have elements worth considering. We all want Halo to be healthy.
so why would we drop campaign and pvp for that? If anything you could add that as a separate mode.
bring back invasion first though.
It’s already being done, the custom raid people have made on infinite are incredible and the most fun I’ve had in halo in a long long time. As soon as I started playing those I was like this is it! This is where Halo needs to go, it just has so much cool potential. I hope they explore that.
Invasion is coming to infinite, they been bringing it up in waypoint
Those aren't exactly the pinnacle of fun when most the time the large group is just competing to get kills faster
And like, often terribly balanced
A fully next-level Spartan Ops would be something I'd love to experience, essentially dungeons, raids, etc.
It needs work for sure, but I think the potential is huge.
That’s more a mutilplayer game mode. Doesn’t have to be a new pinnacle. Just a fun game mode to kill time.
HS should take inspiration from Destiny's Strikes for Spartan Ops 2.0. Not sure I'd go with Raid or Dungeons for the inspiration
And like I said, there’s not a lot of games that do this well other than maybe Helldivers. It’s not really a saturated market. I feel like they could really find their footing with this mode. They could still do campaign and PvP, but I really do believe they need to capitalize on firefight and make it epic.
I would love to see something Raid like for Halo. Puzzle solving aspects of those are a lot of fun
mannn thinking about it gives me an itch for a mode I never knew I wanted
Good call. I was blanking on the shorter-form analogous activity.
Fair
I think a Raid-like mode might risk alienating the core Halo audience, but I wouldn't be against some sort of experimentation of puzzle mechanics in the next game which are more complex than what Infinite's campaign has (The power seed puzzles throughout the campaign)
Just wanted to get that out there in the open. Thanks for the feedback guys, just want to see Halo dominate again. Been a fan since the combat evolved.
That's what keeps IPs healthy: new ideas, innovative perspectives. Thank you for taking time to bring those ideas!
For some reason I can't see the new operation, but I can see the updated shop and exchange.
Is the rest updating at 2?
Got 25 minutes until the operation goes live. Store reset is always an hour before
Ahhh, okay. Thanks! Sorry, I interrupted the previous conversation 😂
Nah, that conversation was basically over
You’re good, it fizzled out lol
Ah, I don't feel bad then. :)
id like larger scale pvp also with lots of vehicles and such
Discord was made for interruptions and random conversation changes. Live for it!

They only added the hayabusa helmet? Not the chest or shoulders?
Exactly
bummer
To be fair, the helmet was the main draw of the armour
Yeah pretty much
It’s what defined the legacy to be honest, when you think of Hayabusa the visual is helmet
Take it what it is
I liked the chest more tbh.
I do wish they'd have given us back cosmetics that were shared between cores though.
Im on team make every piece universal
just came back to infinite to grab the hayabusa, yet the matchmaking still ends up into an infinite loading screen lmao
MCC beating Infinite on Steam and Xbox most played on update day....
Just thought it was worth mentioning
at least right now* it is a work day
not me using this as justification to beg for strafe nerfs for the 99th time
New update peak?
nerf strafes/add inertia pls I promise 1 million population increase
They did nerfs already to some of the movement
im interested in how much money infinite pulls in nowdays
probably a lot still
do featured playlists like delta arena halo 3 legacy give you more xp?
featured get more xp

sorry
what gamemodes were removed from arena social and rumble pit? have not found where they specified whats been removed.
They nerfed acceleration speed, but there's still no inertia. It should be like every Halo before infinite
so the entirety of arena social is gone, and a lot of rumble pit modes like kong slayer and purple reign are gone.
wouldve been nice if this was in the patch notes
love playing a legacy mode with avenger starters but then everyone picks up BR
i believe that is a limitation of slipspace
would like to see it too but that is probably why
I really wish halo had a “do not matchmake with” button for people like other games
3 games in a row against the same 4 stack mlg halo sweats
Can anyone tell me why Grifball is so bad in this Halo?
I loved Grifball and something just feels off about this version. It feels slow paced.
I'm fairly certain it's absolutely doable
Skill issue
they for sure could implement inertia but i imagine it straight up doesnt exist rn
🤡
In comparison to H5, and maybe H4 grifball, yeah it's definitely more slow paced but nothing like the 3/Reach grif pace. My thing is the hammer windup takes some getting used to, but I am sorta managing to get the eye in for it. You have to anticipate the other players' moves a bit more
That being said, third person grifball is actually visually messing with me and I wish my game wouldn't matchmake me into it when I explicitly have that mode in the composer deselected :/
Why are people so salty and insist on TK in griffball
This maybe controversial, but I think bringing new a voice actor to voice Chief for the CE remake would not be entirely unjustified.
No remake has been confirmed
Are we ever gonna get the tarot card emblems that have been in the game since season 3?? There’s a whole lot of them and I’d love to get them
wow grifball REALLY show how much ping plays a role in who gets the kill
trading is nearly impossible and im watching people start swinging when im almost slamming yet they still kill me first
I got banned because how bad grifball is set up just constant Tks and my tm8s kept running into me lol I got tk8 I get over 100 times in the last 5 games I played
I have strategically blocked every sweat lord in Halo 3.
Now my matches are perfect.
Oop, unconfined remake mentioned again. Set the “days without CE remake mentioned” back down to zero
Anyone having problems with the servers right now? I can get into the game okay but can't seem to connect to servers.
There doesn't seem to be anything posted by halo support yet so not sure if that's just on my end.
Oh, judging by discussion in #general-chat it looks like I'm not the only one. Disregard.
Why do so many Meelee so much in Firefight/PvE?
Like is it normal not to rely on ones aim?
You underestimate the power of punching.
I think grav hammer is very strong in PvE, it can take out whole groups easily. The other melee options are a lot more situational though.
Melee is a historically overused crutch in Halo.
Depends on the game. You can save up a lot of ammo be meleeing.
For example, in ODST you can one-hit any enemies (except for Hunters) by meleeing them in the back. Even Brute Chieftains with invincibility on.
Im talking about meeleeing without any meelee weapons.
Like teammates i get all almost exclusively meelee. Punching the same enemy multiple times.
Unless they find power weapons like the Rocket Launcher
Even walking up to a group of Grunts and meelee each one instead of clicking on all their heads with a pistol or something.
Im not trying to be an elitist. It's just something that caught my attention.
And i think it's odd people play a SHOOTER like it's a beat'n up game.
Hey guys what about a new UNSC LMG modeled after the FN EVOLYS?
Is there campaign matchmaking for MCC?
Nope.
If I'm out of ammo I usually go and melee things until I can find more/get a chance to reload, at least personally
Anyone know if there are gloves with spikes or blades on them? Kinda like Shredder or Wolverine? Obviously not long ones, but just some slight spikes? Trying to figure out if they're part of a past season battlepass or if they even exist.
I don't believe there is
I think the pointiest Gloves we have are prolly Themic on Mark VII
And I forget the name rn but there is a pair on Rakshasa with built in brass knuckle things
There are the Liteknuckle gloves for Rakshasa, meant to house a pair of shock knuckles; As well as the Doisac Kiss wrist attachment, which is some knives on the right forearm plate. Mirage IIC has the Shockbrace, which is basically a big gauntlet.
Mark VII has the Crimson Compliment wrist, which is a pair of bladed shivs; TAC/Dewclaw, which is a foldout knife on the wrist; And Sharp Bracer, another pair of knives on the wrist.
ngl themic isn't even pointy
it's more just like the mechanix M-Pact gloves if it covered your entire hand
you'd be better off with one of the bicycle glove looking ones for pointy
sucks when your challenges are to win games but in multiple games in a row you get afk teammates who are clearly just farming spartan points. can we ban these people?
they should get kicked if they're afk long enough and not moving. probly best to play firefight if you want the best chance of winning.
Is there any better way to get spartan points besides playing games and the operation pass that doesnt need to to pay like $10
I just started playing again after like 3 years so i start at 0 SP, with needing to get to 40k points before july 8th itll be a bit challenging
They never get kicked just sit there afk. I’m not sure if the challenges work in firefight.
It’s meant to be FOMO sadly.
Yeah really wish it wasnt
Idk if ill be able to get it before it goes away
Even with getting all the SP on the current operation its like 250+ matches to get it
It's pretty possible to earn 40k SP
Same tbh I don’t play this game often or buy anything. I just bought the first two battle passes when the game came out.
Ok, but how
Thats like 6 hours a day if the average match is atleast 10 minutes
I used this to gain Hero rank almost one year ago(on November 2024)
they do
items in the exchange don't go away.
Well i hope so
there's categories all the way to the right when you scroll which have all the past items in them.
But their twitter account did state that the helmet will only be available until july 8th, which is worrying
It would be neat if old battlepasses included SP, would most those more worth getting
Ill keep grinding but i wish there were better ways to earn SP besides what we currently have
As long as the helmet actually stays in the exchange then it doesnt matter hopefully
hmm, I'll have to check now.
Saw a post saying its doable with just 7 matches a day atleast, as long as the operation pass and weeklies are completed
If thats true then it will be way easier than i thought, but itll be a long while before i get it
10-15 games a day should let me grab it early without needing to glue myself to my chair
oh, I guess it is only until july 8th after I read the description in the game. bummer
As far as I know AFKing is not bannable in Halo. I’ll be extremely happy to find out that policy has changed.
Anyone here knowledgeable on the Halo Legacy Collection cards?
The expiration date is so strange. I spent most of points now that it’s easy to find what stuff I didn’t pick up earlier. Gotta grind out 30k points to get it if it really does expire
They didnt mean to delete your message @rugged ginkgo where are you meeting them? Im assuming some event
naw its good I get it. GalaxyCon Raleigh
Assuming thats in the convention center downtown? Fun venue
i assume so. i need to do more research into the event 🤣
need to drive to Raleigh from Ohio as well
looks like its 45 days away so you have time
yea got a little over a month
hopefully you dont have to walk 😛
well if I gotta walk. i should probs start now 😭
exactly lol
my goal is to get a funko signed by both of them along with a professional photo op. thinking of wearing my halo gear reward jacket and get like a military hat
