Nice! I don't have the weapon charm (it comes with a brown camo pattern, the ODST one was standalone).

On Mark V[b] I also wear Gungnir knees, since it's what ODSTs wore in Reach, and I would wear the UA/NXRA armor for the same reason if I had been around for the event it was in.

Also have a pseudo-ODST on Rakshasa with the Firefall helmet and Survivor chest piece. Once cross-core shoulders come out I plan to put the ODST shoulders on it to have a sort of new-age ODST look.

its really stupid that soooo many of the armor coatings are either vaulted, or "coming soon", not in rotation etc. if you have to PAY for these anyway, what difference does it make to rotate them out. like i wanna GIVE YOU my money for this coating but im just not allowed to lol

second complaint is the weapon/equipment placements on maps, in every halo game when you play a specific map and mode there are specific waepon and equipment spawns. why did 343 have to make this change with infinite? you play a specific mode and map, the power weapon rotation and "power equipment spawns are random. one game it could be a sniper, the next a skewer. instead of active camo it can be quantum translocator.

why? this takes the consistency away from matches and the things that are replacing these good items are terrible. i dont think many people would prefer a skewer over a sniper in 4v4, same with quantum over camo. this is just horrible game design tbh.

lastly, the commando rifle is trash and has no place in the game anymore with the DMR and the BR. youre better off using the AR or pistol and never touching that damn thing

i think youre misunderstanding what i mean. when i play non-ranked i play fairly well, not god tier or anything but im usually top 50% of leaderboard, so the game thinks i need to be in super high skill matches apparently. any match i play in ranked the enemy team is like, onyx 4 stack, vs me and my bronze skill level teammates

like in every ranked, if you have games that too heavy for you, then you will lose. Lose enough games and you will get lower rank and will play with someone of your skill. Ranked supposed to work like that in any game.

i watched some halo youtubers and i have zero idea and i just don't understand. I simply don't see any real arguments. They all saying it is bad and not working but why how and where no information t all. Also it is even funnier when they make video with a lot of kills in it and have some interesting "arguments" about halo being social game or something. Yeah sure, really interesting running around getting 30 kills per game.

they have charts online you can look at where they have an algorithm graph your performance, and if you play a match where you have a rocket launcher and vehicles and get like 40 kills, it cant determine thats an abnormal performance and expect you to play that well consistently

I think a part of this is you are anxious about playing ranked and it's easier to hop onto the other reasons matches don't always go the best instead of what you might've been able to do.
It's pretty simple. If you have fun, play it. If not, then play other things CalplexThumbsUp

I feel that too, you definitely aren't alone. It's why I like being able to see my stats. Somehow it helps me feel better about losing because it was fair and I need to find out how to better counteract stuff.

I know stats aren't everything but I do feel they help give a better general picture of what's going on and if you are trending a little better

A lot of times I'm on a losing streak, Its because I didn't realize I had actually improved and was playing against tougher people. I just think I'm doing worse.
I'd rather lose knowing I was a little bit outskilled than lose knowing something I should have won but lost was because I did something stupid to a lower skilled player ODST_Sweat

As for cosmetics, it could just be regular unlocks within the passes currently in MCC. You just acquire points, go through the cosmetic unlocks, and there you go. Although, I believe the majority should be unlocked from the start.

What I'm saying was that the two years that we've had this game, the original developers were insufficient in their work. Most of them are gone already and that's a good thing. The ones that remains or were hired to fix the game did a good job. I'm just saying that when it comes down to the price increases of certain content, it shouldn't be done based on the hardships everybody had to endure.

Aside the game modes and new seasons with extra content and highly praised additions, they also need to just keep a close eye on feedback. If we're upset about the price increases, then make the changes. That's more publicity and praise.

I had this idea when it comes to bundles in Infinite.
When a bundle is released in the store, each item comes with the bundle just like how it is now etc etc.
But when the bundle rotates out of the store, each item is split up and given an individual price. If you were to buy each item individually, it would effectively cost you more, so bundles would have a little more value.

Halo Infinite comes out and does include splitscreen for multiplayer but nor for campaign
Splitscreen for campaign is being worked on but ultimately canceled

Work was already started on it, there was never a lie about this. It was a promise made that I don't think anyone thought they'd have to break.
It was either continue with splitscreen development on campaign, or move staff to work on other features and bug fixes. They ultimately chose the not-so-easy decision of abandoning a promised feature in favor of progressing other requested features

That's breaking a promise. It's not the same as lying. Not by a long shot.

"even when they don't need to" - is purely speculative on your behalf.

And while broken promises aren't good - it's usually OK as long as there were valid reasons - or you get something else out of the deal. And in this case we are probably good - the extra resources helped produce the turnaround with Season 4 and 5.

The scarcity in how many people bought the unlimited product and the looks you get for it. It's a similar concept to, say, unusuals in TF2. There's functionally unlimited unusuals from functionally unlimited loot crates, and the only thing that gives it any value is the rarity of how much you were willing to spend on the item in question.

If I had unlimited money and unlimited time, I could unbox unlimited burning flames team captain hats; It's personal preference and maybe personal finances keeping people from doing so. Same logic applies to animations, cosmetics, etc etc in these permanent stores. The scarcity isn't in the item being functionally something you can never run out of, though it's often mistaken for being the scarcity referred to, which again I'd like to stress, isn't the scarcity actually being meant. The scarcity is in having a cosmetic that is rarely utilized or owned, always present or no.

Ok so halo CE Magnum and Assault Rifle. Thoughts on just how good were they back in the day as I feel nostalgic. The Magnum was like a pocket sniper thanks to it's range and reliable recoil. While the Assault Rifle lacked accuracy at significant ranges it could easily send enough lead down range at CQC ranges to guarantee a kill.

How many people is it set up to play? I want to make sure I play it with the proper amount of people.

The objective is to kill enemies and hold the central hill to score. Default score to win is 2000. Each team starts with 8 allied Grunts. When you kill an enemy Grunt, the Grunt joins your team.

Brute bosses spawn every so often that, when killed, upgrades your Grunt's weapon and turns the player who landed the killing blow into the King. Kings have a customized Overshield and a Gravity Hammer to help clear the hill. The King buff lasts for 60 seconds and currently persists through death.

Scales with any number of players. Intended for 4v4, but honestly it's more fun with big teams. I'd think 8v8 or 10v10 is the sweet spot, but I've had 12v12 games that were bonkers.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll increase the number of Grunts per side to 12 (24 total). The AI cap at one time is 32, so that'll leave me some extra wriggle room for bosses and other wrinkles.

At the moment, the boss is always a Brute Chieftain. I can see what I can do about creating a Boss Randomizer. No promises. 🙂 I can try to increase his health, too. Good call.

RE: Grunt respawning. So there's a fun bug where, after 20 minutes, the Grunts stop respawning. Nobody knows why. If anyone here has any ideas, please let me know. (There's another bug where Generic Zones stop submitting scoring ticks after the first round, which means the hill stops working on round 2 onwards. Hopefully 343 can fix these issues soon, but that's why the default for the map is 12 minutes/1 round.)

When I'm shooting rockets in custom games or forge playtesting they often vanish in midair and never connect, everything else works properly tho. Anyone else encounter this strange vanishing rockets bug/connection issue?

I played a few rounds of Grunt Wars.
The version i played today is great when the game is full. The idea of husky raid with grunts makes it all the more fun. You managed to take husky raid to the next level. That is impressive.
A few notes:
The boss is still too easy.
The number of grunts seems to be right, i like it where it is.
Lastly, I would suggest to not have infinite ammo on, as people with snipers and rockets just sit in the back and clear the map, and infinite ammo would really make that off-sided.

Good call on increasing the Grunts! That said, AI unit budget is very tricky right now. If I have too many AI active at once, the mode can crash. Hard. I'm talking straight-to-dashboard crash. And that's at only 80% AI budget. I added a one-second respawn timer to the Grunts to try to keep the budget away from that threshold, so hopefully that'll keep things stable enough so where I won't have to reduce their overall numbers.

Boss health is tough right now. There's no way to increase an AI's health over their maximum amount set by the mode's difficulty and player scaling options, which are currently at their highest. I'm thinking maybe I can slowly regen their health with a script where every second, it gains X% health back, but that doesn't feel good on paper. Hopefully we get the tools in a future update to just say "Give Brute Boss 10,000 HP." 🙂

good luck ur welcome. btw i had trouble spotting my nav cutters after i placed them. theyre a very tiny gray object (i had to edit place of one i couldnt select/find so had to delete them all from folder to be sure) so i ended up placing pointers [gameplay - scripting] with shown dimensions with them so i can find them easier. it basically lights up. may be helpful for forging but will have to remove the show when releasing the map for play

Coming into the discord late so I know there has been other discussions around the EVO switch in ranked for Infinite. I know the switch has been polarizing in the community... I also understand many of the points why the change was made. But to me the BR IS Halo and frankly a more fun gun to use IMO.

If I remember correctly, back in the day in Halo Reach you would spawn with both the BR and DMR starting weapons. I know BTBs over the years spawn you with 2 starting weapons (AR and BR for example). Do you think Ranked Arena could ever get to the point to start with both the EVO and BR to keep everyone happy? I could see there being balance and other issues but I haven't seen any discussion online about it. Curious to hear everyone's thoughts....

I'm not sure it's been "that" polarising. Pretty much all of the threads I've seen, here and on Reddit, have generally fallen towards the positive spin. The YouTubes seem to be happy as well.

The BR is iconic. It's an awesome weapon. But the Bandit is really nice too - and being single shot with reduced zoom it provides a skill gap to 1v1 battles, encourages movement around the map, and rewards co-ordinated team shooting.

It will take a bit of getting used to. It will suit some play styles more than others. And I have a lot of work to do. 😦

You can change seats without leaving the vehicle. One of the best changes 5 ever made to vehicle combat.

The tank can still take damage, you're locking them out of the gunner's seat, and you can target the tank's teammates.

It's hardly ideal, but you should problably be trying to board a Wraith from the side without guns in the first place.
