And to his point thats partially true, but Halo thrived in a market where it had very little competition. The moment it started to get it it fell off the number 1 spot basically immediatly. I love Halo, but the gaming market was already moving past that type of style even with Halo 3, the release of MW2 in 2009 just proved it.

You don't buy the halo credits on its own. You get the Microsoft gift cards, which will go on your xbox account, and then you can use it to buy the credits on halo. You don't even have to buy credits, but games and other stuff too

Since I have GPU, I opt for the 100 dollar one since it costs 91k points

Takes awhile to earn it though. You have to do the phone and computer searches, do the quests on Xbox, and do the microsoft mini stuff that gives you like 400-500 points daily

like Microsoft is betting hard on gamepass, it's why the Infinite campaign was priced at $60 i bet (to drive gamepass signups), yet the perks for infinite mp are very underwhelming

That's some pretty hard copium there. The Flood armor Kit from tier 50 of the Battle pass doesn't also unlock the helmet crosscore, and they've confirmed Mark VI Gen 3 is only the kit, so don't expect Mark V to get any special treatment.

Thing is. It could have just been a core. It should have just been a core even. If it was, it would get the full benefits of crosscore going forward, and it's helmet would automatically be crosscore. Same applies to Infinite Mark VI.

Making them kits was a purposeful decision. And, like you said, I don't blame people for being annoyed about it either.

Keep in kind they are allowing kits to have visors, coatings and effects. It's possible they may be more customizable in the future

I really hope in the next Halo game they turn down the SBMM a ton in casual playlists. I don't like playing Halo on my own so I don't play at all. But all my friends are in different brackets so its always unfair to play with people. I want to give 343 money but I am not investing in a game that I can't enjoy. The SBMM/EOMM is the exact same in ranked and casual which I don't understand aswell. Every youtube video you watch on XDefiant celebrates the fact they aren't implementing a SBMM feature so its clear what people want with their games.
If they don't have it in casual then those who want it can play ranked and those who don't can play casual. This way there is something for everyone and it feels like such an obvious choice. Plus infinite at the moment still doesn't have the numbers to support this system. In the uk outside of peak times I can't find games or it takes for ages. I work nightshifts so I am playing at unusual times. When I do find games and its a higher skill bracket then what I am in. Cos if it cant find anyone it will move up brackets and not down to ensure new players don't get stomped which I understand.
I am glad they are adding XP in custom games and I hope its a reasonable amount and brings more people to the server browser so I can actually play this game.

I have played 3 different XDefiant beta's and I have really enjoyed what I have seen and the progress they have made. Infact on the open beta over 2 million different people took part so clearly people have been invested. But this is a Halo discord so I would rather talk about, I dunno, Halo maybe?

Also why would it be a bad thing if they turned down SBMM or removed it from casual playlists? Not everyone wants to have their A game on every time they load up a match. Those of us who don't get much free time and just want to enjoy a couple matches shouldn't feel completely locked out the game. Or why can't I enjoy games with my friends who are on different skill levels? Its 1 thing loosing a match but when the odds are constantly being stacked against you because your playing with someone who is better its annoying. I disagree. Before we had sbmm/eomm games worked great and most of the time I found more balanced. Before you would have a mixture of high and low skilled players. So it was like 2 seperate matches going on in 1 in some ways. The low skilled players would fight the other low skilled players. Yh sometimes they would get bit stomped but this was part of learning the game. And you could visibly see your progression while your KD/r goes up and it felt good.
Now as you get better your skill brackets go up so every game feels the exact same. Other then when the system fails. When your being put into games that your not supposed to be in the feeling is far worse then if it was a random match because you know the system put you in this bracket.
Another factor on why its bad is your being matched on skill and not connection. This means higher ping times which is more input latency. People in less populated areas will now be matched in different countries so they are put at an instant disadvantage to those in that country. 343 is probably loosing tons of players because people can't find matches cos no one in their area is in the same skill bracket playing at the times they do. Its not like Infinite reaches the same player counts as cod.

Matchmaking strictness isn't entirely based on the algorithm itself. It's the number of players you can match with. If Halo infinite had over 200,000 players, the skill pairings would be a lot more accurate. Otherwise, there will be more varied results with less people since connection always takes priority.

Smaller lobbies will also yield better results.

And I live in the UK. Imagine the amount of countires which would play the game but don't bother cos they can't find matches at all?

Take Battlefield 2042. No skill based matchmaking and also launched in a terrible state. That game has more players on Steam then Halo. Granted Halo is allot more console focused. But I would still say that game has more players on Xbox and PC combined then Halo infinite.

Geographical location is something you can't help as well. There are people in Australia who are constantly getting over 200 ping. It's not the matchmaking itself causing this. They are too far away with nobody to match with. That's the situation with mint blitz, but he doesn't quite understand that.

Connection already is prioritized, but there's still the issue of the entirety of the low population and the population in your region. Two of those combined is going to result in higher ping and connections to more distant servers and players.

Unless Halo has a massive resurgence in player counts and worldwide internet allows people from anywhere in the world to play with only 1ms of ping, it's looking kind of bleak.

People always look for their KD. It's a huge distraction from the objective pursuits. In other words, one guy will ignore the KD for the win, but everyone else will be hesitant upon helping out. They don't want to look bad in front of everyone else. The objective player might have the highest score and won the game, but on the inside, their pride is crushed considering they look bad to everyone else.

It's not just Halo that has this issue though.

Halo Infinite has crashed every time I tab out of the game since the latest update. This includes anything at all that causes the game to minimise. Has anyone else encountered this?

I am above the minimum to play the game.

this is kinda random but its an issue ive had for awhile - i feel like the "hitbox" for entering the plasma turret on a wraith is annoyingly big. nearly every time i try to drive or board a wraith, i end up in the turret
