So I have a hypothetical, and a question, that Coating in the sorre that goes on all the current cores, is that going to also apply to future cores if you purchase it.

Now If not, that means the future cores won't have this a available until it's cross core fully.

But if it does. Become cross core that means they can only sell that one coating for 300 credits. Which mean if you wait , till it's a cross core coating.. you can pick up the same coating for cheaper... Now if that does happen will the players who bought it at Original price value Be refunded the difference in credits?

No I didn't buy, it.. but what I'm saying is, that 343 is essentially putting themselves into a potential dilemma, granted.its not going to be some huge Uninstall Halo Infinite one, but it will turn into a dilemma where people who made a choice on their own free will, are still going to feel like they got Screwed over this backlash will ensue.

It's not really different. I bought the pack knowing it might have additions down the line. I choose to not get bent out of shape when that happens, or even if coatings become entirely customizable - of which I've been a big proponent of.

For me I'm more interested in armor peices that the coatings since I just use the cadet Olive color. But I want to put some of the noble team stuff onto my MK7

That armor is Unique to some degree, but I can also do the exact same and I have already seen several Pink SPI armor with bunny ears... That and the white 1

The Halo Store in my opinion makes no sense and has no consistency.

I have only maybe bought 4 coatings and honestly only like 2 of them enough to even use them. It kinda feels like it was a low level effort store

That's a good practice for it like it was a whole process of seeing if it carried value. Like I didn't buy the default red ones they sold the scarlet red and the other two exact ones sold separately. To me those were not good value. They weren't something I felt were the worth of the cost.

Also the rarity system makes no sense like what makes it legendary, or common or rare...

If o could be frank, and not trying to trash talk 343 here but it's my honest observation.. is that the In Game store and practices is the product of Low Level effort. And that 343 does not fully understand and was not prepared to take on a Live Service Game model.

The game has been out well over a year now and it comes off as being behind in the times.

Like the things that other Love service games for well 343 did not implement rather they took some of the worst choices on aspect of Live service and dedicate a full rush in that direction.

Although a lot of factors come into play but mostly I believe it was poor management choices made under the pressure of reaching a deadline after spending too much time just trying to figure out what they wanted to do in the first place.

Well that's why everyone wanted a Seperate progression system. They could have even tied Cadet Color coatings to it as rewards and you reset it which than rewards you with a new cadet color that has a secondary cadet color and just keep going

Ok so I am already at peice with 343 giving us bad news regarding the future of Cross core. Because talk of the store coatings and cross core is all over youtube, Reddit, twitter and here. We know ,343 monitors chatter on all those channels especially here. Which makes me suspect that someone with oversight and authority is specifically instructing them to not touch the subject of cross core potentially.

Like I'm fully prepared to receive Vlog with bad news or news that isn't something we wanted to hear regarding Cross core.

If it was good news by know Unyshek usually has some cryptide Post or a More good stuff coming Including news on Cross core.

But then being oddly silent on that specific topic after S3 has me just Accepting that it's going to be bad news.

Has anyone made a Tournament of Power style map, I'm curious to copy that design except I need to know if I can script parts the map to dissapear over time..or despawn.

So Make a Map like the TOP, where you only die if you fall off the map, give everyone hammers, grapple hooks and set the gravity to just enough to jump far.

Than set it to where every 5 minutes part of the map despawns and some debry spawns in... If the other team isn't fully eliminated off the map the end part is just a series of chunks of map floating around so everyone left has to grapple and knock the other team off the chunks of broken map.

I wonder how much of an impact having to duplicate core coatings has had on the game. Vin Gattuso pointed out such, that unlike visors, each core has their own version of the cadet colours. i can imagine the more cores they add, the more messy that becomes, unless they move to an open core system where each core shares one cadet coating

I don't imagine performance impacts would be too high. According to people more familiar with modding Halo than me, in the older Halo games, every map and level had its own version of each weapon, so you had 20+ assault rifles and whatnot sitting around the file structure and the game managed to function then.

There are so many areas in the game where if you go out of the map or even clip out accidentally, you don’t die, you just stay completely frozen. Chief’s model is entirely still, you can do is look around, but you can’t attack or even nade yourself to get unstuck

Since revert last checkpoint isn’t an option, you have to restart the entire level

It’s been a year since the game came out, and campaign isn’t a priority anymore I know, but it’s extremely sad that this basic feature is no longer here

Question: I always assumed that most of the monitors were blue by default and that the change to red was symptomatic of rampancy. This is shown in the CEA terminals and in Halo 3 when 343 kills Johnson. And I always assumed Penitent Tangent was red because he had gone rampant and was compromised by the flood. But then the Anniversary terminals and later on, Halo Infinite, showed that there were many different colored monitors including one that is orangish-red by default. Which monitor in the CE terminal that shows all of them together was Penitent Tangent? Because the reddish orange one is Abject Testament. Also is there a canon explanation as to why Despondent Pyre’s appearance changes?

I’m typically not a huge fan of 343 adding in stuff to the games that weren’t in the original (especially when it actually changes how the original games were played) but they really should make the last area of Sierra 117 a Firefight map because it is such a well designed map. I don’t think most people even realize all the areas you can go to there and little passageways. It’s such a great place for fights and exploring. It’s a shame it’s limited to just some spawned enemies and a couple phantom drop offs.

I spent like an hour last night just exploring every corner of that place.

Even found some hidden explosive canisters behind some windows that I broke with a hammer. Then they killed me.

Only a few years ago I realized there’s a tunnel pathway under the bridge area.

Halo 3 is in a lot of ways more advanced than 343 games. It’s crazy how interactive the environments are. You walk through a plant it actually moves. Every little thing can be moved or destroyed. The Phantom blows up and massive chunks are everywhere. They even sink in the water properly. Just the fact they bothered with the fish in the water and the under water sound effects for a small little area most people wouldn’t even know you could enter. You can shoot the wheels off the tractors. Last night in the final area of the level I threw a nade into a gated tunnel thinking it would just be an invisible wall or something and it actually blew up the generators inside. The rusty roofing things fall down if you jump on them.

It’s an incredibly detailed game. 4 and 5 were missing so much of that interactivity. I’m glad Infinite brought a lot of it back.

Even Reach felt less interactive than 3.

that area is pretty nice, theres a few areas in h3 campaign that were designed for you to hold out in an area until you moved on, like the shield door/bridges areas on tsavo hgihway, crane/scarab part in the storm, even on cortana a map a lot of people dislike theres the part near the end before you enter the final room with different levels

The Library. Cortana. The Oracle. Sacred Icon. Definitely some of my least favorite levels.

The Oracle suffers from like 3 hold out firefights in a row at the start of the level.

Theres the one right at the start. it’s short and not a big deal (that area is super cool and underrated). Then the long elevator ride. And then right after that there’s another hold out. It’s really bad level pacing. And I love Halo 2.

I don’t think it’s so much that people disliked playing as The Arbiter back in the day . I think it’s the fact that his levels were just not as fun to play. Especially the first 3 imo. The Arbiter, The Oracle and Sacred Icon are the weakest levels in the game imo.

Quarantine Zone, Uprising and The Great Journey are better. But I’ll take most if not all of the Chief levels over them too.

Arbiter also just didn’t have as many fun or varied enemies to fight in his levels. The Arbiter is all elites, grunts and sentinels. The Oracle is the same as the prior level + flood. Sacred Icon is flood and sentinels (now including aggressor eliminators and enforcers) and technically humans -not really but they are in the level and if you can get to them they will fight you. Quarantine Zone is the same. Not a lot of people realize the pelican carrying a scorpion that flies overhead that sometimes shoots at you or other enemies is actually manned by marines. Not flood. And then Uprising and The Great Journey you fight brutes, jackals and drones. I think that’s a big reason why Arbiters levels weren’t as well received.

They really should have made fighting marines a main part of Sacred Icon and Quarantine Zone. And judging by cut dialogue they were supposed to have a bigger presence in the levels.

Imo, first time players should just play them in the order they came out just like people who’ve been playing since 2001. So CE, 2, 3, ODST, Reach, 4, 5, Infinite.

Also the way 343 lists them doesn’t even make sense from a chronological sense. Because don’t they put ODST after 3? But the plot of ODST takes place during Halo 2 (and technically if you count the legendary ending I guess it takes place during 3 too). I do understand if experienced players want to go back and play them in chronological order but I think first time players should just play in order of release. It will flow better gameplay wise, instead of starting with Bungie’s last game they made and then going back to their first. But it’s not a big deal. You’ll still enjoy it. I just wish they’d change the order they list the campaigns. Also no shame in playing on Normal especially the first time. That’s the difficulty I’d recommend first time players (unless they’re super young or not great at games) and that’s the difficulty I usually play on even though I’ve done them all on legendary.

Did you guys know that in Halo 2 the aggressor sentinels on the gas mine(/flood lab) in the first two arbiter missions The Arbiter and The Oracle have a different design than the ones on the ring later in the game on Sacred Icon and Quarantine Zone? The sentinels on the mine look similar to the Halo CE sentinels (which makes sense because its on the planet the ring orbited)

The recoil increases with the number of shots. If you nail the kill in five shots it's feels pretty manageable.

Get out to 7 or so and you're fighting the recoil.

Yes. 2 people can play CE and 2. Up to 4 people can play 3, ODST, Reach and 4. Also make sure you play the campaigns in the order they came out (and you really should play in classic graphics the first time. Especially Halo CE where the remaster is kind of meh and doesn’t capture the atmosphere).

Yes, you can play the campaign with anyone else on PC, but here's where things get bad. Campaign crossplay is only available for Halo 3 and ODST, all the other campaigns must be played with other PC players if you're on PC too
