Windows 10 Home
CPU 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700, 2.10 GHz, Cores: 12, logical processors: 20
GPU GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB
RAM 2x16 GB DDR4 3200 MGz
SSD М2
All drivers are up to date. Even that damn Windows one.

Screen Resolution 2560 x 1440
I did not change this parameter during the tests.

I also tested the graphics settings, FPS cap, and body count.
I didn't test the unit count. I want to see what happens if I spawn 200 infantry.

Overall, the game runs at 30-60 FPS on all settings. 40-45 is the average. The monitor is locked at 120Hz.
It doesn't matter what settings you use, from Epic to Low. It doesn't matter what FPS cap you use, from Unlimited to 30 FPS.
After changing the settings, I always restarted the game to ensure all the changes took effect.
This makes the game feel like it's running in a swamp or fog. I'm used to playing at 90-120 FPS.

The severe lag bug in pause mode occurs in any situation on the game map. When I encountered the bug in the game, I immediately reported it, edited the video, etc. Without turning off the game, I simply paused it (Space key).
In this case, when I returned to the game, it lagged terribly, but as soon as I unpaused, the game returned to its normal 30-60 FPS. Overall, this issue isn't a problem for me personally.

The video was made with graphics settings set to minimum. Nvidia decided not to record their FPS counter for some reason.
For some reason, the animations were off and reset to maximum after restarting the game.
In the video, I wanted to show the FPS when you stick the camera into the ground; that usually prevents the game from rendering anything. But that doesn't work here.

Epic set
With Epic settings, FPS can drop to 28 when there are a lot of zombies and action on screen.
Also, in a calm environment, FPS doesn't rise above 50. With Low settings, it sometimes rises to 60 and doesn't drop below 30.
In short, the difference at the low end is 2-5 FPS, and at the high end, it's 5-10 FPS. Mid FPS with Epic settings is 35-38 FPS.
In the menu, FPS at low settings is 120. At Epic settings, it's 50.

At Low settings, the GPU load is 28-55%, and CPU load is 17-30%.
At Epic settings, the GPU load is 70-98%, and the CPU load is 20-40%.

At the time of my save file here, my game was hardly acting up. I literally could hardly move my camera so I need to re-create and send that save file in at that moment. Ill do that tonight. Its not hard to replicate but if you checked this .sav you may not see much.

Well upon my retest, I tried to open the map and well... I may have broke the Ai. They dont retake any land and I even moved the infection spread to 300%. So i cant retest my original issue but heres a new one! I put drones at ever SOC and sped up the time. nothing happens outside the 2 zones that just keep being rushed in the same spots.

Seems related to moving the vehicles. If they are stationary, everything seems fine.. soon as you move them.. wham.. almost cant even move the screen. Stop the vehicles and turn them off, poof its fine... Also Winters disappeared.. I dont know where she went, Cannot recall her in, claims shes on the map, but I cant find her! Not sure if that is related or not...

@wooden spoke Is performance any better on these saves on your setup?

# buoyant lantern <@590700344477220884> Is performance any better on these saves on your setup?

I checked the performance sav Saturday before the Pod. It was still unplayable. Something to do with the vehicles. Stop and turn them off, performance returns. I have plenty of time tonight to retest after work to verify but I thought maybe I needed a fresh start for the changes to take affect. If that save file is suppose to still work, then as of Saturday. Not yet.

Ill start a new game and see if I can recreate the same scenario. Typically around the 30 day mark is when performance issues find me.

I also checked the juggernaut .sav and noticed the juggs were still throwing into the dirt. Id say 1 out of 5 would come at the base or they'd launch a car destroy object and start throwing at the ground again. Ill retest this sav tonight as well.

# buoyant lantern isnt that save over100 pop?

I believe that one is at 100 yes, so its over the standard 80 limit. Is that something I can delete all the units and test the performance with the regular cap or because I started it, its just fk'd? Lol. Worst case we can scrap it and ill just run new with the standard setup and see what happens. Iv had several games hit around day 30 and performance takes a dive. So its not new to me to get back there.

# buoyant lantern isnt that save over100 pop?

So after tinkering with things on that performance sav, I discovered that I had to delete all running vehicles just to be able to move around... changed the pop back to 80. i killed all operators and infantry... The cap stayed at 17 with no one left on the map... I recalled in a bunch of vehicles and it still gave heavy performance issues... moved pc settings to MIN, made zero difference... deleted all sandbags, barriers and walls. Performance returned to mostly normal. reset graphic to epic. i was able to run around the map but still had a minor stutter.

I also went under ground with the camera, by going out of bounds you can get under the map, I tried to control infantry around different spots i thought they might fall through but none did. so im still not sure how that happened.

Tested again today on the updated build. Performance still is terrible, so I did some testing... Deleting random objects does nothing.. I cleared a good portion of the maps cars, walls ect. changed nothing... I started to count wall sections and i lost count over 1000. my rough guess is around 1500-200 "Sections" of sandbags-Barriers-concrete have to be destroyed to regain a standard performance level... That or turn off or destroy the vehicles.

@somber thunder

Vehicles were optimized

#

As for the other stuff i'll have to get back to you

#

Its not a priority at the moment to support anything above 80

#

Dimitry will have to look into the building issues

I dont think it has anything to do with the cap.
