Alot of the Units in Cepheus Protocol either feel like they the same with different guns, or are just cannon fodder. I suppose some changes or additions. (If they arnt already a thing.)
1st before I get into the meat and potatoes of this. Units that gain veterancy, or lvls, will gain a star or Stripe or whatever shows a gain in lvl. This should go up to 5 lvls and will work like this.
Assuilt
1: +10% dmg; +15% accuracy
2: +8% resistance; -15% weapon cooldown
3: -35% obstacle construction time
4: +16% resistance and +20% accuracy
5: Unlock "hold the line!" ability. Granting +35% fire rate; -40% weapon cooldown -20% reload speed for 8s, during this ability ammo is not consumed. 40s cd
Cerberus
1: +8 sight (50.cal- +20% accuracy)(Mortar- -33% scatter) (105mm- -20% reload cooldown)
2: +20% armor (50.cal- +15 dmg)(Mortar- +50% splash dmg)
3: +15% max speed (105mm- +30 dmg & +35% range)
4: -12% fuel consumption (Mortar- -45% track time)
5: Unlocks “Hell on wheels” ability, granting 25% max movement speed. And acceleration. However is unable to fire or disembark infantry during this ability.
These changes will make a unit feel more significant, and more like a cohesive fighting force once you have some high vet solders. Of course, losses will happen.
(This bit may be redundant, just an idea.) Allow the making of officers. These can be made once they hit max lvl. And can provide the same benefits as winters. Essentially becoming Sub-Commanders.
Lastly, these changes are not balanced. But instead are what could be introduced, make the solders feel more impactful.
