Anytime I fuse any of the ants, the animation lags at this one specific screen before all the ants fuse, it also lags after when I try to claim the card as well

You may have too many cards. Altho, I was expecting a 30 second lag.
More cards also mean longer lag which will eventually reach 30 seconds or more if cards are not sacrificed.

To get rid of the cards faster, you could merge level 1 cards so that u clear 2 slots in 1 go. That will consume quite a lot of sugar. Alternatively I used phone link and wrote a script to automate my mouse clicks to merge/sacrifice cards.

I have over 200 cards and the same thing happens to me... A multiple selection button would be very useful in these cases.
