they usually announce specific stage info + scheduling closer to the day for festivals

#

so u will know long before it comes around

me too

#

i'd definitely go i'm only like an hour away from montreal and i could def drag a few friends along to go with me

#

but it's in august so lots of time to figure it out

#

true
idk i could probably go without an adult since i'll be technically an adult by the time it's the festival
but i will have to cross the canadian border since im american and idk if the border will like a bunch of 18 year olds going up by themselves

If anyone has any questions about Osheaga feel free to ask! This will be my 3rd year going and its such a great festival! It has its problems like all festivals do, but its one of the best ones ive been too!

For GA yes! Before the show they announce which stage everyone will be on! So, you just wanna be at that stage at that time, for festivals, there is a lotttt of movement often times between acts, so, you'll probably shift a bit throughout the day

Depending who it is ill usually show up to the stage 30-45 mins before they get on, I don't always get the best view ever, but it's usually super decent!

#

For first time goer biggest thing is please drink so so so so much water, it gets hot, people pass out, also pace yourself ! Take breaks in the sitting areas, make sure you eat food, and go with the vibe! Festivals (to me at least) are about the vibe of the full day, ive always found it hard to try and just stay in one spot for the whole time

#

Thats also valid! Most likely they would be sometimes between 6p-7p at night, and I'd guess they are on one of the two main stages, but that info would all be released before hand !

#

I'm actually about to leave my house i gotta run. To get somewhere, but will answer all soon, feel free to DM as well

But long answer short, yes, people get drunk and use drugs, but for the most part, those people are just doing their own thing and not bothering anyone. Same as any festival really

I think the biggest thing is just prepping yourself for a festival! Theres a lotttttt more people than just a normal concert, but ofc they are spread out because of all the stages, but theres for sure areas where its not really.... hard to move around.. just very slowwww.

#

Ive never seen GA at Osheaga, and crowds are going to depend on what stage they are on, since they will be later in the afternoon for sure, chances are there will be a bit of a buildup of people who want to see them or just see music! Since these stages have so much going on someitmes people will just pick a stage and chill there. Id honestly try and get in the headspace of you wont be the first few rows unless you get to the gates at open and just wait hours hahaha

#

They are big enough that I think a lot of people will be there to even just hear heat waves (ik ik lol) but I deff expect them to draw a crowd, even if not huge!

#

BUT a lot of the tiem people dont PACK in, so you can kind of wiggle your way decently far up and find a spot, just dont do that ofc if people are shoulder to shoulder

#

Biggest issue is not enough water stations/toilets (I mean there is a pretty damn good amount, but it can be long lines and they for sure even need more, especially in the afternoon it gets so busy!)

#

I think at the end of the day its been a pretty safe festival, friends ive gone with have had great times and they had no prior festival experinece. Its a long day, its busy, its hot! But its fun. People keep to themselves (99% of the time) and the one time I saw someone acting like an asshole, people banded together and get security to kick em out! People are looking out for eachother and all just trying to have fun!

i'm wondering about like re-entry
it said no re-entry somewhere but it says general admission tickets are valid for all 3 days of the festival
i'd assume you'd be able to leave and then come back the next day?
probably a dumb question but i'm an overthinker and sometimes places have dumb policies

#

so would no re-entry mean for the rest of the day? that's what i'd assume
