Recipes 📚🍽
I am a sucker for some no bake cookies this recipe was given to me by my great grandmother!
Ahhh, no bakes. Used to make them all the time for school bake stuff
I know we have some soup people here so Imma share my simple soup recipe that I make when my family comes over to decorate cookies for the holidays
Oooo!!! I need to re write some of my recipes. My old book has some water damage
Sorry my brain went the other way I was like oh that looks so neat and clean! Lol
All good
No worries:)
Tbh my next hobby hangout activity will probably just be me adding recipes to my recipe book
I bought this but I just need to take the time to put stuff in it! I only have one thing in it😂
I think I need to add some color lol
Oh that's a cute idea! I just used an old notebook and some colored pens
That’s what I have right now but I found this at a bookstore in Austin during RTX 2022 (shows how much I should start using it 😂) and couldn’t help myself
i like collecting nerdy cookbooks. so ive tried some good stuff
Wicked and I have a few too!
i need some cocktail recipe books
This one is our go-to
so far the recipes i cant get right are bread recipes. they never come out right
This is a good reminder that I need to compile my cocktail recipes. I have a handful of decent ones that I've found online, but the problem is I never remember them when I need them
I've got one for a New York Sour that uses habanero whisky. Easy to make and good for impressing the dates wink wink
I really need to get a cookbook or something to have more recipe ideas to try
I found it helpful to borrow some of them from my local library. Then I'd look through and make sure I'd like to try most of them before buying. Some of them only had a few recipes I'd want to try, so I'd just copy those down.
If you have kindle unlimited you can get cookbooks from there too
I am so excited to try these! They are in the oven now so I will update tomorrow!
okay, I'm like... hankering for ambrosia. does anyone have a favorite recipe of theirs?
Isn't that one of the RWBY Genies?
it's about as sweet as he is ;D
like watergate salad?
Its differnt kinda
Erm, log, I blame you for the cookbook that I picked up from the library today. Reading through these recipes has somehow tricked me into thinking that I might actually be able to cook
Me: this looks like green fluff
Clicks on article
Oh wait XD
You can cook! I believe in you
I appreciate the boost. At the very least one can be guaranteed that the recipes I share will be pretty simple haha!
For example...
Is that your handwriting??? It's gorgeous and immediately filled me with nostalgia of my old cookbooks
CAN YOU PLEASE TELL THAT TO MY FAMILY WHO COMPLAIN THEY CAN NEVER REA...
Yes, it is, thank you!
~~I'LL WRITE YOU A RECOMMENDATION LETTER OF LEGIBILITY ~~You're super welcome!
Can I just send a sample of my godawful chickenscratch to show them what bad handwriting really looks like?
Wicked up here showing how Prix has the top-tier recipe handwriting
This might just be the nicest compliment I have ever received. In my household, I am known for having the worst penmanship.
But coming back to the recipe itself, it's very easy to have the ingredients on hand, esp. if you go with frozen corn and edamame. (Fresh is better, but not necessary). I use it all the time if I'm in need of a quick side dish
That sounds so good tbh. One of my go-to sides is napa cabbage and mushrooms, with a spicy soy-based sauce
Haven't tried this yet, but it looks so good I had to share right away
In a labour of love I present my Maple Mustard Pork Shoulder Roast! Slow cooked in the oven for almost 12 hours
Tonight I am making pasta salad and potato salad
Oh yeah. Imma have to try this out.
I just found a recipe for avocado pesto I want to make. Feel like I might be able to swap the basil pesto for avocado and skip the honey
Now see for me the honey brings it all together but whatever floats your boat!
It's mostly so I can give myself a pat on the back for trying two new things. Grilled cheese with honey is also very delicious
Fair enough
I'm definitely gonna try this. Sounds super good
Get the good stuff for it, good pesto, good cheese, just fancify it
I've thankfully yet to encounter bad pesto, but I will endeavor to keep it that way XD
Pesto is delicious
Pesto pasta salad is one of my favorite dishes for summer
Oh that sounds good. Going to have to start diggimg my salad recipes out soon, i domt do as many soups in the suer
https://twitter.com/McDonalds/status/1648808434559512578 Is this real?
People have been dipping Wendy's fries in Frostys for a long while so it doesn't surprise me
Yeee people put there chips in McFlurrys
The delicious thing I made today, substituting chicken
Oooh that looks lovely. I do love that the recipe calls for turkey, I'm forever using it in place of chicken anyway,(nothing against chicken, but apparently my body disagrees with it) . At first I thought I saw mung bean sprouts in it but the recipe said nothing about it so good job, Hakori's eyes. 😂
Prob the udon noodles combined with the mushrooms lol. I leave out the mushrooms because I don't like them
I love mushrooms. But it's a recent development, like, two years ago XD so I get it, used to hate them.
Still hate certain ones
It's the texture rather than the flavor for me
Sort of same here, I'm just not fond of canned (slimy and tinny) or breaded fried,( slimy and once they lose an ounce of heat it's just nasty imo) for me it's gotta be fresh, or lightly sauteed with onion and consumed while still piping hot
yeah it's the squishy slimy feel to it. Same reason I can't eat meat fat
Not really a recipe, but I thought it would be cool if I inform people of the difference between Taro and Ube! And ask if anyone has ever made anything with either root vegetable? https://www.honestfoodtalks.com/ube-vs-taro-difference/
I promise to share some recipes i use later. Especially if I’ve made some up!
Not a fan of Taro but I do like Ube
Especially in ice cream
Halo Halo comes to mind 🇵🇭
I personally love taro flavored anything. taro smoothie bubble tea is my go-to
I like both but they are pretty different. I’ve tried ice cream of both and it’s delicious!
Love fried taro chips
And ube soft serve is to die for
Ohhhhhhhhhh
I’m obsessed with a chain we have called somi somi that does the best Taiyaki soft serve
Dang i want ice cream
Want
I want ice cream now too. I might pick up a pint of ben&jerrys on the way home
This is the place
There are plenty of places that are around me, but this is probably the most popular
I got to wait a bit longer for the good ice cream shack to open up
Yum
Now I want pasta
ME TOO
But food republic had some great infographics and recipes...I was looking up food and recipes yesterday because I'm a horrible horrible masochist. (For context for people who don't know I have medically been put on a clear liquid diet for 10 days which I will most likely start cheating at around the 5 day mark lol)
All to myself
Made some eggplant parmesan tonight
Very nice!
Made Ube pancakes
Ooo
It was so good. Ube, sweet mochi flour, tapioca starch, then I added vanilla extract, eggs, butter, milk and the rising agents.
https://www.sweetashoney.co/floating-island-dessert/ @silk estuary this is what I was talking about
Made creamy cheese garlic noodles. It’s an east meets west fusion recipe and super good
all these delicious desserts are just making me hungry
Suggestions for what to put on salmon? I've been told citrus, maybe oregano. I've only just recently started dabbling in spices and stuff for chicken and hamburgers. I got nothing for fish.
I think for tonight I'm just going to see if we have some lemon-pepper seasoning and add some garlic and salt. This feels like something I did once before.
Miso, soy, teriyaki
I’m not a fan of lemon pepper on salmon, it’s something I usually save for white fish
I need to cook more but that requires energy to cook 😭
Didn't have fresh green herbs for the garnish displayed on the package, so I doubled down on the tomatoes 😂
ma breakfast today
Yum
This very thick soup makes a hearty meal. Increase the number of servings by adding a scoop of hot cooked brown or white rice to each bowl. The recipe comes from Clare Briggs from Northumberland County. Clare says that this is a great cook-ahead and heat-up dinner — and anyone who has tried the soup agrees.
@abstract vortex
Thanks! 😊
Ooo that looks tasty
It was so good
Keto time
that looks tasty
Wicked and I are cooking barbacoa and homemade tortillas for dinner I am very excited! I might make some street corn but I’m not sure yet
Superhero meal--both in versatility and taste. When Eric and I ate this together, it was a solid five-minute silence between chewing and moans. That good. What makes this dish special, aside from the extremely savory flavor, is the flexibility to eat it at whatever temperature you like. If you like crisp spinach that doesn't wilt, let the pasta ...
Delightful
Oo that looks yummy
It was!
I gotta give this a try!
Watch the salt content. I found with the parm and the butter I didn't need the added salt
Pan seared steak and grilled veggies. Nothing special, just butter salt and pepper on the veggies, and a store bought steak rub on the meat. I just love using the grill like this. And cast iron is my favorite way to do steak
Looks tasty
i failed making dumpling soup today. i added chilli paste and anchovies, and it still bland as hell.
not even the chilli paste make it satisfactory
....i forgot the salt
Not a fan of anchovies but you might want to try some fish sauce or oyster sauce! Oyster sauce especially adds a lot of umami to a dish.
Also use broth instead of just water
Adds another element of flavor
My moms roommate was from Singapore and we used to make wonton soup together hahaha
Making fresh wontons is so delicious!
👀
Target and Safeway
Okay real talk I have never have had banana bread... how much like bananas does it taste like?
Or is it like a name sake thing
It's fairly banana-y
Haven't had any for a while as I prefer pumpkin or zucchini bread.
I have feelings about this
Mine is very banana
Food and Recipes 📚🍽
DUMPLINGS 💖💖💖
Your namesake!
cannibalism!
Ooo those look so good! Did you make them yourself? I want to try but I’m scared
nope i got it at a restaurant
🥹 but it so goooddd
What is that sauce? Where I live they just give you soy to dip them in 😭
i have no idea, i was too hungry to ask. but it seem spicy. XD
Maybe?! It photo looks the same?
Also I want to try this. Looks so good! And I love garlic
okay for sure i tasted vegetable oil, pepper of somekind, ginger, and garlic in it
Now I am going down a rabbit hole of this cookbook. @timid fractal hehe Wednesday night maybe?!
The cookbook for reference
@kind cargo I’ve made dumplings from scratch (expect for the wrapper I bought that) and they are sooo good! Highly recommend it
love a good chili oil, but not about to make my own, lol
I got some premade dumplings until I can make them myself.
I cannot find premade wrappers so I have to make my own
I have had a mad craving for soup dumplings but can’t find anywhere in my immediate area to get them

Well folks, after years of requests, they're finally here: the most tempting polygonal pastries ever put to PC, Sweetrolls from Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I've been terrified to take on this digital dessert for years, bu...

Is this going to bring back the debate of what happens when you stack a lasagna on top of another lasagna?
Im sorry, what?
Oh my god the lasagna debacle, that was great
Basically on an ep of RT podcast they asked if you stacked 2 lasagnas would you have 1 or 2 lasagnas now and everyone but blaine said itd be one and he refused to change his tune and it became a bit for a while
Rooster Teeth Twitter has been going at it for the past few days, to determine who is correct. When you stack two lasagnas, have they become one, or are they forever two?
I am not associated with Rooster Teeth, this video is purely for fun.
How was this 2 years ago?
This is seriously tempting me to tweet it at RT
Do it. Fuel the chaos
Get a poll rolling
This week, we're faced with a very particular challenge, the likes of which I never thought I'd have to face: batter-fried chicken. It sounds innocuous enough, but a cursory glimpse at any given recipe eschews batter in favor of a sturdier, more reliable flour-and-egg dredge. Thanks to our new kitchen producer (Kendall Beach), we concocted a for...
I made @timid fractal ‘s chicken dip.
And im stuck at work, dammit
Note to self: start boiling pot for noodles before beginning meat prep. Still waiting on proper boiling, and everything else is pretty much cooked.
For those here who like to cook with teriyaki, I have a recipe for a multiple use teriyaki glaze. Works for stir fry, grilling and even roasting :)
Question for the group. Topic: Avocados 🥑
As part of flavors, okay. As the main flavor/texture, no thank you
I really like the avocado in California rolls, but I find eating it alone to be strange
I’m trying to think of other foods I can add it to where maybe I wouldn’t mind it
Its good as an additive to salad dressimg
My opinion is this
my friends & I were laughing about this last night so I immediately thought of it
But yeah personally I want to like avocado cuz it’s in everything I like but I just don’t ):
my scanning brain read cinnamon rolls, and broke for a moment 😅

I ended up getting three but I also walked 5 miles so it’s fine

Had mcdonalds. The coupons are out
Also I prefer taco bell to most other fast food places
taco tuesday promo was last week tho ;)
Also it's monday
I mean, it's still technically my weekend
It’s not pretty because I made it quick but wicked is getting an apple pie
Is the pie small or are there whole apples in it?
Looks like some nice chunks
Dang, now I want to stop at the local orchard and get some apple pie.
We actually have a spiralizer thing that peels and cores the apples
Made for dinner tonight a a bunch of stir fry veggies and some teriyaki chicken breast pieces
I steamed some brussel sprout halves in a little steamer while I cooked the carrot, onion, and mushroom in a pan with a tablespoon unsalted butter, and a little olive oil. Then I added the brussels when they were almost done, plus zucchini, ginger powder, sesame oil, sea salt, black pepper, and a bunch of my teriyaki mix. Let simmer til done, then removed the veggies, re-oiled the pan, added the chicken pieces, more teriyaki, garlic powder as well as minced garlic. Let cook til done and served.
Oh boy, let's see how this goes
Making turkey chili tonight with 2.5 pounds of ground turkey, a handful of garden bell peppers and cayenne peppers, some chopped sweet onion, minced garlic, a few fresh tomatoes, 48 oz’s of chicken broth, a 11.5 oz can v8, and 4 cans of beans, one each of black, pinto, light red and dark red kidney beans. All seasoned with generous amounts of cumin, oregano, sea salt, black pepper, paprika, and a small amount of basil.
I sautéed the onions, then added the peppers, sautéed, then the tomatoes, and let cook down for a few minutes adding the seasonings and a little of the chicken broth. I then added the ground turkey, let that cook, then added the rest of the broth, plus the can of v8. Let that come to a boil while I opened the cans of beans and rinsed them off. Add them to the pot, stirred and lit cook for 30-45 minutes. Served it with a triple cheddar blend and sour cream.
I am making a grilled ham and cheese with sourdough for lunch and I AM SO EXCITED!!!
Making menchi katsu (ground meat cutlets) tonight for dinner using a pound of ground 93/7 beef mixed with bread crumbs, 1 egg, minced onion, and seasoned with sesame oil, ground ginger, ground mustard, sea salt, black pepper, minced garlic, and battered in cornstarch. Serving with sautéed zucchini, onion and mushrooms, all over jasmine rice and topped with my teriyaki blend
@lucid anvil
Nice! Definitely saving this
Needs more soy sauce...
Dino….imma…😤
So trying an idea out for (and I know this is gonna sound extremely crazy) an Asian inspired pizza with a dough of self rising flour, sour cream, olive oil, roasted jalapeños and a little of a triple cheddar blend. The toppings are micro bean sprouts, thin sliced baby carrots, shrimp, and the triple cheddar again, seasoned with my teriyaki mix spiraled over the top and a light amount of ginger powder. Also half way through baking brushed the crust with garlic butter.
So far looks like a pizza, just need to cut it up and taste
Took a bite, needed a little more flavor, so brushed a little sriracha over the whole pizza, but overall turned out great
@neon anchor Detroit style
Very square
Tried to upload a picture of a double cheeseburger log made and discord deemed it explicit
those pepperoni look nice and crispy
The buns were too much
Made a small pizza. The dough was 3/4 cup self rising flour and 1/2 cup Greek yogurt mixed in a mixer then kneaded and rolled. I cooked a few strips bacon and then some hamburger meat I seasoned with oregano and dry basil. I par baked the crust for 7 minutes at 500’f, all while I drained the grease from hamburger meat, then removed the crust from oven, added tomato sauce, some minced garlic, onion powder, oregano, the hamburger meat, a pizza blend of cheese and the bacon I turned into bacon bits. Baked it again for 7 more minutes, removed from oven and added some parmesan cheese.
Ooo that’s looks good!
Turkey Pasta Bake
Lunch 😂
That's a mood. I've absolutely sat alone at a table and openly remarked how good the food was XD
Me when I made some pretty good spaghetti last week.
Hot take 🔥 Spaghetti is pasta not noodles
It's made with spaghetti noodles, so...
I'm failing to understand the classification.
Noods are nude looking
Dinner: CheeseSteak quesadillas
oo yum
Pomegranate!
Running an experimental marinade as a precursor to a recipe I wrote down ages ago but never made. Gonna use it on some sirloins I'm gonna make tomorrow. (There's also minced fresh garlic but I remembered that step after I'd already taken this pic)
Gonna be honest, I'm more or less winging this, I tend to have about 60% good luck when I do this, but we shall see lol
Okay I gotta day I'm proud of how this turned out. The real trick though is seeing if I can do it twice lol
I marinated the steak with a mix of saffron water, bourbon, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce and lime juice and spices( in descending proportions, I wrote an exact recipe but it would be an absolute wall of text. So I'm abbreviating) then sauteed some mushrooms and onions with sage thyme and balsamic, and the side is a rice and pasta mix with garlic and Parmesan.
Need to work on my ratios a bit.
that is a thick tomato slice
Pretzel bun sliders aren't technically soft Pretzel but they kinda are lol
Don't make the same mistake as my fiancee, do not replace celery with celery seed
oh dear
I need that clip from extra life about not liking celery
Yeah, don't want any frozen in the hot oil, otherwise the fire department has to come bail you out
Last time we made turkey the cats got the liver and heart (once cooked) as a treat
I’ve never deep fried a turkey, only roasted
My Brit may be showing
I dont know what that is but it looks tasty
Pork Melton Mowbray pie, mustard and Braaaanston aka pickle aka a savoury chutney
When I was living abroad I missed good sausages and Branston
Probably a good thing these are seasonal

I think i would get one sip in. Too freaking sweet
Chris eats ice cream daily, I think his sweet tooth has been established
I might actually like that, I love sweet stuff
Fish tacos I made last night
As a barista I disapprove
But also not the craziest I’ve seen
Super spicy shrimp tacos.
No spice please
gotta agree for once. I made them too spicy lol.
Salad time
Soon to be pretzels
Ooo
Yes
gimme
Cmon down
sighs where's a teleporter when you need one
One of these days
Hmm, demon flavored Doritos
Homemade burgers are the best
100%. I keep trying various restaurants to see how their burgers are; just can't beat what you make yourself.
Meanwhile, I have leftovers
Ive made my favorite Japanese dish oyakodon
Caught and cooked some trout came out really good
Tenderloin steaks marinated in a blend of olive oil, sweet vermouth, and malt vinegar, with chopped onions, crushed garlic and fresh rosemary, then rubbed with a blend of hand ground peppercorn and mustard seed with rubbed Sage and sea salt, pan seared and cooked medium rare topped with sautéed mushrooms and onions with a side of buttery herb potatoes.
I see banans, chocolate.. is that ice cream?
Marshmallow
Udon noodles, they are prob my fave for any stir fry type meal
Wonderful now describe the flavor
On their own they dont taste like much, more like watered down rice i would say. Texture is a bit stretchy. Soaks up the sauce flavors nicely
The sauce is a butter chicken sauce, the base is mixed with coconut milk. Its got a good savory taste with a bit of spice
Lovely
Theres brocolli, beans and carrot mixed in with chicken nuggets for some protein
To test what I can cook I put a banana in the air fryer
Marshmallows fell off and cooked way to hard
Also look at this shrimp etouffe I made months ago
I need to actually try the recipes I've saved on instagram jesus
woo
Ah here it is!
So. Zappy did give me an idea for a mixed drink inspired by Team RWBY. And it can be either really good, or really bad.
Four different liquors. A chocolate chip cookie liqueur (it exists), vodka, sake (I’m thinking possibly plum sake), and Fireball. All in equal parts. Think of it as a re-imagining of the Four Horsemen. The Four Huntresses.
I’ll have to get the drinks and make it, see if it’s any good (I hope it is). May not be able to do it for a while though.
There is a cookie dough flavored whiskey in the US, called Doughball. It's made by the same people who make the skrewball peanut butter whiskey
That’s actually a valid point. I’ll have to write that down to the list
It's dangerously good
Cookie dough whiskey... gimme
Now that I'm actually home and stuff, this is the stuff I was talking about
Gib
Cmon down
I HAVE THAT
I wanna taste!
Made steak and veggie for the family today!
Never heard of that. Maybe its similar to the chicken chop we have in my country?
This is how chicken chop look like

@ruby turret
Ill show my mother
Chili oil recipe:
1 cup vegetable oil
3 tablespoons crushed pepper flakes (plus any spices you want to add.)
Dash of salt if desired
Instructions:
- Mix dry ingredients together in a HEAT PROOF bowl, grinding to release more capsaicin.
- Heat the oil in a pot over medium high heat until hot but NOT SMOKING.
- Carefully pour oil over the spices. (Don’t worry if it sizzles that’s normal.)
- Store or use immediately.
My dinner last night:

What I had tonight.
Bagel, angus patty, English colby cheese with sage, green chiles, bacon, and an over-easy egg on top. They called it the Everything Bagel Burger.
