Some people get bothered by people sending them emotes more than others and would rather not have to mute people every match. Plus "playing silent" adds some extra flavor to the game if people want to experience it that way. I personally might not ever use it but who knows.

Absolutely yes. And let everyone know you’ve set it to mute (so they don’t think you’re seeing and ignoring their messages). I hate getting mocking laughter when you’re losing due to bad luck especially
