@mellow rose what don’t you like about the idea?
i dont like the final restriction tbh where if someone dies, they can come back, its basically a weaker zombie
Well, that would be pointless then
We've already tested "capture the flag" in our private games, it does not work out well at all.
Your additional idea of troop generation for the flag holder is neat, maybe worth expanding on.
The "coming back to life" part of players you did not think through.
I’m not entirely sure how you tried it before maybe you had someone chasing another player around the board. But with a troop generation idea, it seems fair like if you get around six to five troops, you can protect yourself that way. The person holding the flag doesn’t just stay in one spot; they have to keep moving around the board and avoid the other player.
I’m a bit confused, because I don’t think there’s really been a way to do that before.
You're saying the flag can move now?
It seems like you need to write up your ideas a bit better. This is not what you wrote in your original idea.
And I'm sorry, but personally I'm not really intrigued by it.
In every single game mode related to capture the flag of the flag can always move lol
This is factually incorrect. lol

The only flaw I can see is that one person would be the one to sacrifice and attack, and everyone else would be prepared to jump on it with full stacks, so it requires a sacrifice of sorts. I think upon capturing if you automatically gain a number of troops to help defend, that might help balance things out, so that the first to attack isn't a sacrifice so to say 🙂 It's not a bad idea, it just needs tuned. I am also against the idea of the flag moving, but the position of flag needs to be centralized every game, if it spawns in a corner or a single lane opening that wouldn't be very fun.
Also as a question, does the flag count as a triple die defense roll like a capital would? Or would it be a normal 2 die defensive roll?
Just my thoughts, also might be worth noting that to me, it feels more like a king of the hill mode rather than capture the flag, because most CTF games are bring the flag home. Which could also be a whole different idea for a game mode!
Side idea: The zone could move, and each turn you hold it could gain points torward victory, so that the game doesn't stalemate on 5 guys suiciding one person on every 9th turn.
I test ran a few games of capture the flag, where the flag territory was preset and it was manual placement with a line drawn down the middle and everyone placed in their side. (3v3)
You had get to your flag and make it back to the territory of your opposing flag placement on your side. If the player who was bringing the flag back died, the game was over. ( Not all of that players territories. Just the player territory that was bringing the flag)
We tried it a couple was
- Straight w/l
- A point system for capturing the flag (2 pts) and getting it back for the win (5pts). And having it a 3 game series total.
This mode took too long with 3 manual set ups. Players got bored.
We tried each approx 3x
I was looking for a mode that would get spectators to tune into live broadcasts and follow a leagues season.
We just coukdnt get intresst from the community .
I love the idea but at present time the game itself is too clunky to make viable
