I kinda like it in progressive, you risk letting them get to 4 cards in your area or wipe them out and hope they trade on 3 to become a massive pita for your opponent(s) - fog progressive is where it's hilarious to see 😄

This is why I propose to have it in the settings. Because for people who don't like it as much (such as me) I can change that behaviour for my games. You could even let the default still be "trade immediately" but at least provide the option to turn that off...

absolutely! I don't see any downsides to this approach and this would fix a rather sore issue for many (just watch some Pete lamenting about it :D)
How are feature requests pipelined within SMG?
