Three weeks ago we had a plan to make sure we won the head to heads that mattered to get in. It's not very cool to have the entire field looking at one group of tie breakers then switching last second cause it didn't look like you thought. And we shouldn't be handicapped either because we didn't draw the best teams. I'm done from here. I'll drop it in this thread but I think it's crap. And I think if you took a blind survey it'd show a lot feel like I do and not just the salty teams that didn't make it because of a switch in rules after the regular season was over. At best that's a stretch of the truth, but I'm guessing you're just lying. There's no possible way you could have known 3 weeks ago which teams would tied with you. You cannot plan to beat teams you're tied with weeks before you end up tied with them.

To use your logic about SoS in a different direction ("we shouldn't be handicapped either because we didn't draw the best teams"), why should the other teams be handicapped because (1) they had to play harder teams and (2) they didn't happen to play other teams that ended on 4.

Sorry it didn't work out for ya, but that's not on me. You had 8 chances to win and you had the easiest schedule of any team that won an equal number of games.

And, just to be very clear, there's a big and important difference between "switching last second" and "clarifying". Not a single team asked about how h2h works when there are 5 teams tied. If they had, we could have clarified that earlier.

Don't try to claim that we changed some tiebreak rule just to screw your team.

There is a very easy solution to this drama: have everyone on the same points play a short tourney vs each other. BO3, all on a saturday or sunday in a 6 hr time slot. More risk, fairer for everyone. Also, more chaos 😉

SOS is definitely the best tiebreaker for Swiss. Should it have been in the rules? Probably. Would it have affected how anyone played? I seriously doubt it. U should be doing everything u can to win each match regardless

I said we had a plan to play the ones we knew about. Seeing where you are in the standings and coming to a conclusion those games are deemed important I'm not lying and to think prof and lebruh and myself are all lying is a crazy statement.
Second we (lebruh And myself) joined during another team flaming out and we saved it. So. It wasn't 8 weeks. One week we were told, even though your opponent clearly didn't follow the rules, didn't read the rules they win and you lose cause they're new.You set up the rules. Well in the rules the Number one Tie breaker is head to head. Clearly stated, how are we to know that what you really meant was if by chance five teams tie, then what is in the rules really isn't the rules, so don't bother reading them and just ask the king. He'll change them to his liking, screw the serfs following the rules. They really are just broad guidelines. I don't mind losing or I would have left a long time ago. What I find disgusting is you tell us to use a fair play system, but aren't doing it yourselves. Again I don't mind losing. It's been happening to me for years in body parts. I get you've made your ruling but you want to get people to join the tourney scene. This ain't it brother. You get more with honey than vinegar. Say we screwed up. We got it wrong, next time we'll do better. I could have lived with that over well there were 5 of you so obviously this is how that would work. Sorry you spent so much time lebruh trying to figure out what was needed to advance. Next time check with us first to make sure what we put in the rules is what we meant. Duh

To be clear this was about the action not you personally. I think you are a great ambassador for the game. I can compartmentalize the 2. Again it wasn't personal it was the action as you are a leader not always easy but to keep your stress down it makes it good to be able to do that. Just like I know you're mad right now and seeing red. This wasn't to paint you in any light. It was about the rules and the implementation. I did say a couple things that I apologize for they were directed at you and that was wrong. I am emotional as well so I have a brain fart now and again. Maybe it's because I'm missing so much of me and have had 2 strokes. Wish my folks had better genes or I wouldn't have abused my body so much when I was younger.

Hey Frog, I think you need to practice a bit more empathy here.
I agree with you if you're saying they're out of line with their claims. From your perspective they're mostly without any reasonable grounds. And they haven't been transporting the kind of nice you would've want to get back for the amount you invest into this event.

To be empathetic towards them, you could say:

  • They may not have been very intelligent with their claims, those can be disputed easily. But they're full of passion, which makes for the majority of their movement
  • They have a different perspective than you. Many people have different perspectives and it's important that you have them all. So they must be able to stand up for theirs.
  • While they may not have been giving you great or even valuable feedback, their appreciation for what you do can very well be genuine.

Why this might matter to you:

We're social beings. We need those kinds of relationships with everyone around us. The fact that you would not want to host an event again because of the kind of relationship this put you in is proof of your involvement.
As a social being, you profit most by understanding others. Only then can they give you as much as you can take.
So, you might not appreciate their intelligence, but you might appreciate their passion.
You might not see their perspective, but your perspective can only shine because they have theirs.
You might not appreciate their feedback through action, but you can accept their attempt to show you appreciation through directly spoken words.

Even if all that wasn't the case, you as a social being are the one that profits from making a case for them, to practice empathy.

And I'm saying all that because I hate to see you suffer from this interaction. Because I do want to share and give you some more feedback you might be able to appreciate more.

Because personally I've been entertained by all of this and I think all of you are quite valuable for that. But that's only possible for me because I have the opportunity for that luxury of seeing if a bit more differentiated. So let me give some of that back. :)

Maybe I'm slightly overreacting but I'm not sure the game is playable right now. It could be different for private matches but in one game I just had it skip my turn while setting me in automatically (which just placed my troops around the board randomly), It did not give me time back for a kill, and on at least 50% of my rolls it refused to give me the percent of my roll (and it would show up 0% of the time on larger rolls). Not sure how anyone could play tournament games with that happening
