Well, technically I rallied a coalition of Purple and Red against Yellow when they were going strong in the west, and after our combined powers pushed them to their last capital in Washington, I nabbed my old capital in Montana. Then it was just a matter of waiting a few turns to regenerate, then trying to rally another coalition of Yellow and Purple against Red
Which... didn't work, so we remained in stalemate with Red having 100+ more than the next strongest player, until they drained all their resources trying to bust Purple, and I managed to kill Yellow after they botted out
And then it was just a matter of hitting Red!

Actually, now that I think about it, Red only offered me an alliance because they wanted me to fifth column Purple during their first war with Purple lol
