A different solution to the problem could be to time cap the games, and whoever has more troops or territory once the timer runs out wins the game.

For example, games could be set to 1hr time limits in the match settings.

round limit is one that the team have looked into before, maybe a bit more feasible as a long term solution - as negating rank changes in a game could be a little more tricky for points etc (if you do come out 1st, do you really want to only gain rank from 6th because 2nd-5th soft surrendered?)

Maybe an draw option like chess where everyone who is left has to agree. Wins losses and draws are tracked and if you get in the last three and draw you split the rank points type of thing or a more complex version of that because different Elos. Other rules could apply like at least ten or fifteen rounds for example.

More like 30 I would think because it makes people still play the game and not farm draws.
