Howdy!

Rank Points you need for each rank class:

Novice - 0
Beginner - 1,000
Intermediate - 6,000
Expert - 11,000
Master - 16,000
Grandmaster - 26,000

Is this what you are asking? Or were you looking for something else? You can check pins in #risk_rank for some useful information.

Hello! If you're wondering how to gain the points, you just have to play ranked online matches. The amount of points you get depends on:

  • whether you won or lost
  • the rank of the other players compared to yours
So let's say you're in a game with 4 other people, one of those people are an Intermediate, two to them are Beginners, and one Novice. You beat the Novice and one Beginner, but the intermediate beats you and the other Beginner, making the Intermediate victorious. Because you defeated the Beginner, and the Novice, and let's say you're a Novice, you defeated the Beginner who's one rank higher than you, so you get extra rank points, and you defeated the Novice, so extra points for the kill. Though you lost to the intermediate, that's normal so no extra Points, I'm not sure how many points though.

Not quite right. Refer to the image from #risk_rank message. That is an old post and the numbers are from the old ranking system. However, it should give you a rough idea. That would be somewhat how rank changes among similarly ranked players.

You are correct that having different rank classes in a game affects this, though. Higher rank players will gain less points when placing over lower ranked players. Yet, they will lose more points when placing below those same lower ranked players.

Yes through playing ranked games. Wins or placing in 2nd for FFA games will usually give rank points. That is until high ranks in Grandmaster. Of course, getting 4th, 5th or 6th in FFA games will tend to subtract rank points.
