Open source is great and all, nearly every app, except games, that I use is open source, my whole operating system is open source

But I don't really get how making the game open source will help

hasbro would no longer be held liable for not disclosing how balanced blitz dice work, nor have to publish ladder MMR formula

It would make them loose money
They make money with these gems
If the code is open source there would be countless ways to get stuff without spending money

oh yeah, script kiddies could write quality of life addons and maybe even make money off of their mods

theres about 3 to 5 QoL features I'd like to see added to risk. If Risk! were open sourced, these different clients would already exists..

ok fine, but give me a couple of good reasons why they should not drop the source code..

a benefit of open sourced RISK! we would be able to see population trends and queue intellegently,,,, sure the devs could publish this info, but with open sourced,,, ppl would do it for free
