It's insane that in games where the advantage is reasonably low, such as fifa etc. you can turn off crossplay, but for a game like risk, where the advantage is ginormous and on pc you are able to attack roughly 3x faster, there is no option for it. Could we get it implemented? I think it probably massively affects the leaderboards as well, as it's basically a who can figure out how to get matched with mobile users fiesta in regards to settings, turning the timer up doesn't particularly work either, as everyone gets more time, meaning the gap in potential amount of attacks per turn grows even further, thus exacerbating the problem further
I think fixing how attacking works so there is no platform advantage is better than shrinking the available player base for lobbies

Not really. This game isnt supposed to be a game of speed. It’s supposed to be a strategy game. So you should always have as much time as you need to attack. And IMO a dynamic attack timer works best for that
But if the best they can do is make it so that the platforms can attack at the exact same speed…that’s better than how it currently is
just as long as the hotkeys for PC arent removed
That would just turn away some PC players so I doubt they do that

I'm just thinking how much net negative it'd be to separate platforms, you'd have a mobile 1v1 & ffa rank, and a pc 1v1 & ffa rank, as well as full set of game stats for each platform - or disabling "log in across platforms" - so you have either a mobile or a pc account...
I'm pretty sure dynamic turn timers will make it pretty level, you'll have maybe 30s or 60s turn, but gain +5s each time you attack - and can effectively just play at your own pace regardless of platform
Yeah this would be a total cop out, in my humble opinion. I understand the frustration Mobile players have playing against PC players. However, this is not the solution.
Figuring out how to reduce the handicap on mobile while trying not to inconvenience or diminish the PC player experience is the way to go here.
I can definitely see it being a valid idea for split second games (first person shooters, idk football but I guess that too?) But board / strategy not so much - the ability to play cross platform is a big part of the appeal for RISK because you can just use your own preferred platform and play together with friends in private games (all on different devices/platforms) - and you get the added benefit of much bigger player pool for filling games etc too
Yeah speed diff isn't a big deal. The only thing stopping me from playing on mobile is my phone being crappy, but I was fast enough on mobile for it to not REALLY matter
I mean as long as you aren't playing 60 seconds on a huge map, mobile is fast enough for normal people
Even on my losses because someone's on pc, made it a nightmare for them to get the win - and they'll know they only won because they're on pc (cheap shot) - so their victory will be soured too at least 😂
Meh, you aren't losing games just because ur on mobile unless it's Eu advanced 60 seconds prog or something like that

If you are on mobile you can host settings to give 90 or 120, or EVEN 180 if you really need the extra speed (BUT you give EVERYONE THIS ADV)
So the META settings lol. The 2nd most popular settings (and one of the best to rank up)
yeah you cant play eu adv 60 secs on mobile, but you CAN play them with adding extra time
the thing about adding extra time is it makes speed irrelevant, so it removes the adv from playing on pc, and the disadv from people who use camera animations
