If you kill a player with troops in reserve you get their troops as well as their cards.

Because you just store up trades so nobody is ever able to card block

How does a new optional mode make anything worse?

Don’t like the option don’t play games with it.

I think it would create very interesting game play scenarios when used in combination with certain modes. If you are right and it would create the situation you describe then don’t use it with that mode, but I don’t see it as a forgone conclusion that storing up trades would be a decisive play and I am certainly skeptical of any claim of ideal strategies in risk. I think we will continue to see innovation in game play strategies even with no changes to the game. But to claim that we can perfectly predict how new options would play out is also dodgy. I don’t claim it would work perfectly. But I would sure love to play it out in various settings. Probably never happen anyway as long as SMG goes slow on everything. I have better suggestions from seemingly years ago now and I don’t think I’ll live to see anything like them implemented. Oh well.

But in prog caps, I don't think this works. and I think unfortunately using it is more likely to hurt than help
