gloomy skiff

Yes pop wants to help you I can help orange ๐Ÿ˜„

#

Orange winning as usual, GOAT

slim whale
#

I know

#

Thats why I am asking for help

#

I had 20 troops in africa and he beat them all

gloomy skiff
#

I would focus on taking north America, completely abandoning south America

slim whale
#

Do you have any strategies for future games? This game I put all my troops in brazil and central america and its not going well

gloomy skiff
#

This puts orange further from you - and it means green has less options (Europe or fight orange)

#

Fixed cards?

slim whale

fixed cards balacned blitz

#

I think its too late for me in this game already. Orange can eliminate me if he puts his troops in north africa

I'm a predominantly progressive cards player, so I probably can't really give great advice for fixed - I play them like progressive too tbh ๐Ÿ˜…

There's quite a few content creators that showcase pretty much all of the settings that'd be good to look into though

Personally on early game, I primarily focus on 1 attack per turn and trying to connect my non-1 troop stacks together, then work towards a +5 continent (I only take a +2 if I mostly have it already, otherwise I'd rather just get a bigger bonus a little later)

Another way to win would be to somehow make your friend unable to continue the game, use your imagination

It's important to note that fixed has a much bigger reliance on alliances, in progressive you actually have a completely different style of gameplay.

Progressive is basically "card hunting" - so you aim to eliminate a player to gain their cards, ideally when their cards provide more troops than the troop cost to eliminate them.

E.g card set worth 30 means each card worth 10, kill someone for 5 cards = 50 troops worth of cards at that stage - if they have 30 troops, killing them will result in a net positive outcome on troops for you - than before you'd started your turn

What is a strategy that counters turtling in australia? That is what orange does every game and I usually beat him but this game green targeted me in south africa early game and then while I was weak orange destroyed all my troops in africa

gloomy skiff
#

And at later stages of the game for progressive (more for caps but can be normal games too) - you then have "card blocking" - where you usually block in someone's troops or let them attack as far as they can, and trade elsewhere in an area they cannot reach - so they are losing current card trade รท 3 troops per turn, per missed card

#

You want a bigger bonus or can try blocking them in if feeling lucky

Australia is often referred to as the "noob corner" because it's seen as strategically advantageous to have 1 entry into a continent - BUT - you don't have to defend every entry point ..

#

If you for example place troops at these two black lines - you have full block on south America, but you leave yourself open to Europe and to Asia

#

This will mean that you have 3 (+5) troops per turn (8 total) - versus Australia getting 3 (+2) troops per turn (5 total)

So for your 8 troops, you can place 4 on south america border and 4 in between your two borders at the top

South America player getting 5 per turn total, and Australia player getting 5 per turn total, you have almost enough to outpace both

slim whale
#

For the next game do you have a good startegy I could use

gloomy skiff
#

And this type of defence means that for an ally, you just don't defend your border with them - can move troops back so it's not "threatening/looming over them" and they can focus attacking elsewhere

slim whale
#

This game I think the issue was I was being attacked by green from north america and I expanded to africa too quickly which let australia beat me

gloomy skiff
#

You see orange is defending all 3 ways into Africa there, that's unnecessary - and means you can actually hit it if you wanted to - if they'd had a stack of 20 you'd have 0% (approx.) chance of killing the stack, and no 5s or easy troops to hit elsewhere

Yeah the suggested north america holding route I mentioned ๐Ÿ˜„
