We cooking with this one
You like it?
Yeah, I'd like to try it for prog 70, maybe fixed 70 but less than 6 players
Thanks! I do feel like it would be a good 70 map, maybe an interesting 2v2 map as well. I appreciate the feedback 😊
I'm happy to see an Atlantic Canada map as I've got my roots in the region. You from around here or did you just recognize the great map potential?
This would work well as a chokey map. I also like the number and size of the bonuses. Gameplay wise I don't have any criticisms.
The oceanic artwork attached beside it is appealing and fits that theme well. As a local I find some of it jarring - sea horses do not live in most of the map's seas and a greek-style avatar is a bit unexpected - but it still works and theres clearly good effort put into it.
I lived in Halifax for a year-and-a-half and travelled around Gaspe twice. I live in Montreal now but I recognized the great potential for a risk map. I did my best to follow real life transportation and topography with regards to territory size, connections, etc.
Thanks for the positive feedback, I really appreciate it! Yeah, maybe the avatar is a little wild lol For the cards, I wanted to try to match the classic as much as possible, I.e. infantry = soldier fish, cavalry = sea horse, and cannon = blue whale (cuz they’re big and powerful and the shape is sort of similar to the cannon on the cards in the game lol)
You did a good job with that, for instance Edmundston and Fredericton are connected by a highway and you merged them - not sure I explained that well or if it was intentional - but I can tell care was put into this
Yup, it was intentional! I was worried I got some of the regions a little off geographically since I didn’t overlay google maps or something but it should hopefully be fairly accurate
I’m also an aviation meteorologist and forecast a lot for the Atlantic Canada region so I look at maps of the region a lot. So, naturally, as a Risk nerd, I thought I’d make it into a Risk map 😅
Cool to see that perspective in a map
Looks great! Clearly a lot of work went in
