the inactivity warning literally cost me a game once. I had to split ~3000 troops into 2 equal stacks, and it took a particularly long time of scrolling the mouse wheel, and once I got to about ~1000, the warning kicked in and the fortify reset.
and because of that the cardblock I was setting up failed, and as Kylted would say, I got ramdingled immediately.
i really dont understand why some people vote no xD
Because it's there for a reason. Imagine you're on the other side of this: One of your opponents is afk. But he doesn't have to click a button to show he's still there and the game just keeps going and going with the timer running out every turn. Waste of time and pretty annoying, right?
Why are you inactive for 50 seconds and still want to play fast at that exact moment anyways?
because i may idk have gone to the bathroom and when i get back i have the warning on my face
you dont need the warning to be there to have the automated bot take over, maybe if you skip a turn or something you can have the warning instead, that would not be a problem
It's not a warning though.
You're saying the 50s mark isn't optimal, it should be 60s?
it should be whatever the turn timer is
yep
If the turn timer is 5 minutes, you want to wait 5 minutes for someone who went inactive? Unlikely. 60s seems reasonable to me.
max turn timer is 2 minutes
no its not a matter of that
its a matter of the shitty warning that you get not covering your entire screen and requiring you to click a button to start playing again
I was fortifying for 50s here. The popup ruined my game. I wasn't afk.
Ok? I mean it takes you minimal effort to find out that you're wrong.
It completely is a matter of that. That is the whole point of this screen. It's not a warning. It's a way for you to show you're back, to safe other's time.
even if there's a higher setting, that does not make me wrong
the way to show you're back should be to play the game lol not to click a checkmark
Right, but clearly you have not been playing for 50s.
I was playing here. Scrolling the mouse wheel.
yet if i am tabbed out it is only at that time that the heartbeat starts going off and i get an audio indication to play
or even if it has nothing to do with that, i may have gone for a piss or whatever it may be and i wanna get back to the game, i should just... be able to get back to the game and not have to click a random checkmark lol
I don't think it's possible to keep the game just running. I don't see the issue in clicking one button to get back, especially if you're moving it to 60s, which is a less crucial point in time.
Things are the way they are for a reason. You must realize you're missing something, otherwise that's pretty arrogant.
I see absolutely no reason why the warning shouldn't equal with the turn timer. "Your time ran out this turn, you're taken over by AI. Click this button if you're here."
that is bad because if the turn timer is 5min everyone else is waiting for 5min for that to happen
does anybody play 5 minute turn timer games?
Be reasonable. Do you really want to waste others time excessively?
my only point here is about making the warning less annoying
there could be some text thing in the side of your screen saying "you were inactive for 50s, AI has played for you this round" with a small cross that you can just click, but something that doesn't block you from playing or from seeing the game as soon as you come back
I honestly don't care how it's implemented as long as I can fortify for however long the turn actually is
It.Is.Not.A.Warning.Stop.Calling.It.That. LOL
What's this big issue in clicking a button? I genuinely don't understand.
it resets whatever you were scrolling
What do you mean?
if you're fortifying and scrolling large amounts of troops (in my case I wanted to split 3k in 2 equal stacks), when the warning came, it was as if I hadn't even started the fortify
and in that case, with like 5s left cause it was a 60s turn timer game, my fortify failed completely and I lost the game the next turn strictly because of that
I did not realize this was a thing. Why does the game classify you as inactive while you're pushing buttons?
go play a 1v1 match of 60s and try to do everything you want to do in that 10 second window while having to click the checkmark
if i dont need to click the checkmark i have more time to look at the map and i can just get right into what im doing
you ask me what is the issue in clicking a button, i ask you what the need for there to be a button is
you're not, you're scrolling through a number of units, the game probably doesn't count that as an action
Hence why I suggested to move it up to 60s. Good morning. 👋
Great!
The button is there to save others' time. I don't want to repeat that anymore.
*your problem, yes. But you have to realize you're not the only person out there.
but there is absolutely no need for you to click the button if the game could simply recognise you clicking something as you coming back to the game
if the game were to not give you something you need to click out of and simply have the AI play for you and then have something like this appear in the side of your screen it would not bother other players at all and it would stop bothering the guy who has to play
if the game could simply recognise you clicking something as you coming back to the game
or even moving the mouse
it clearly is not just a problem of mine lol
i dont know why you keep assuming im super egotistical and just care about myself
what we are saying would quite literally make the playing experience better without changing anything for others
this, it's not like you get botted out immediately once the warning shows up
also true
I don't see what it would change from other player's perspectives if the popup timer was equal to the turn timer
Me rn
if you're gone for 5 minutes, you're gone, bot doesn't take over until the next turn anyway. Either way, I don't particularly care how exactly it's fixed, as long as I can fortify for however long the turn takes
it takes over still in that same turn 50s after you don't do anything thats why your solution isn't really a solution
This is an actual issue. Hope it gets fixed. Good night gents. 🫡
