What would the territory that gets taken turn into? And what’s the number of troops you would need to kill?
This might be better received as a modifier rather than an entire game mode - it sounds a little like missions but you are given X objective to do within Y rounds - and can do it across multiple rounds?
Agree with Ace on the numerical value being needed - maybe 20% of total troops on the board need to be killed in the next 5 rounds as a quick example?
An alternative but closer to missions could be things like:
- hold {specific continent} for a turn (failing will result in 20% of your troops abandoning their posts and joining a nearby enemy territory)
- hold {territory for 3 turns} (failing will result in one of your two highest troop territories becoming hostile)
Works with me, I’m fine with any mission that prevents the game from stalemating
