sorry the link was a youtube video of the tool. Dev Chilly is the name of the you tube channel.

Probably best not to be publicizing hacks/cheats. The developers aren’t going to be able to respond to it nearly as quickly as players would use it (as in it could be months to years before it gets patched)

Well, sadly, there are hackers who hack everything. I’m actually surprised this didn’t happen sooner. Sadly this was posted a day after SMG basically is on vacation for the holidays. When I played Axis & Allies, a hacker wrote code and created a dice cheat for A&A. The hacker eventually rewrote the dice program and introduced the “reduced luck dice” which (twenty years ago) was essentially a balanced blitz type program that could be modified to increase or reduce the percentages of the outcomes. It was actually accepted as a better dice program than the original. Now, after watching this hackers video, he doesn’t modify the dice, he modifies troop numbers. So if you are playing risk over the next few days. I would recommend no fog (so you can see any troop number modifications mid game) and pay attention to troop numbers of your opponents.

It should also be said, that with no fog, it’s extremely easy to catch.

I think I heard Pete say that if a person is reported for cheating and they get banned, you do get the points back… but who knows how long that takes. I personally think people who use the hack will stick to fog games as there is a better chance to use it without being caught/reported.

I'm curious as to what the community would think about a tool that would monitor a game (essentially a hack itself) to identify if the board state is being manipulated by a hacker. I.e. a hacker detector.

We already monitor board states

That's really good to know and appreciated. Does the monitor apply even if no one reports the hacker?
