My suggestion could be to use the resulting colors after colorblind settings take effect. However i dont really think this is the correct way since colorblind ppl may see it as a different color.
Other options which i think are better are to mention the icon form or even to highlight (as in when u get to the draft phase in ur turn) in the map the player ur ally is referring to.
This is the map of the game i mention as an example.

In the attack COLOUR message - is the colour text aligned with colourblind mode?
If not that may be a good way to display it better?
It's tricky to have based on the colour because it depends on what intensity you set it to as well - so it's a scale rather than any exact equivalent
It could also maybe work as attack - then display a sample territory icon of the player?
This would mean:
- colour is based on what you'd see on the board (rather than text)
- shape will now align (especially useful for colourblind mode, if it's off it can still use the standard circular puck icon - as it'll still have the colour)

To clarify my question:
The message ATTACK PINK - was PINK in purple text colour?
Its in the purple color but its still confusing, its confusing for me in my pc screen, imagine for a person playing in their smart phone.
First thing u get is the word, right? One doesn't associate the color of the letters by default to the meaning of the message. For ppl who arent playing risk constantly i dont think u should expect for them to get accustomed to how it works and pin the fault on them.
In the heat of a game where ur concentration is at other stuff, and suddenly u get the attack someone msg; one doesn't remember that the meaning of the words is incorrect.
At least thats my case, most of the times i use logic to get who they mean, sometimes compared to the other colors of the table, it just matches the word with the "real" color (with yellow for example, its a palid dead yellow but it matches), but others im left totally clueless.
Lastly, depending on the players' colors there may be 2 very similar ones, for me its usually light blue and blue. While i can differentiate them in the board, in a small msg with a very short life span its very hard.
Perhaps the message should be changed to reference the player's username vs a color.
nah, no way. How many times have u pay attention to that? what if for some reason there are 2 very similar nicknames and u dont remember what exactly said the message? I dont see it
Or just player 1, player 2, etc based upon order of players?
I think that woukd work
But also with the symbols and shapes
I think, if it would just show the color of the player attacked (with colorblind ofc) and the shape of the color, it would be easy do differentiate, right?
Luci and I have already addressed why showing the color is not possible/useful.
Forms are a great change but apparently from what I understood of Luci; the form setting is not directly correlated to the colorblind setting so it wouldn't work in every case.
I tried looking for the relevant setting but couldn't find it, I changed it 2 ya.
I think territory icon & colour could work, anyway I raised as it kinda falls under a bug anyway as well (unexpected behaviour)
Will be up to people much more skilled in UI to decide how it can be improved than me 🙂
