Risk players representing the United Kingdom should be granted the choice to chose whether they would like to represent the UK as a whole, or one of the nations such as England or Scotland.

With how big a role identity plays into certain aspects of life in the UK, I feel we should be granted this choice.

When was the last time you said "oh yeah im from the UK" probably quite a while ago, whereas, especially when talking to others from the UK, you are much more likely to declare yourself as English, Scottish, Welsh, or Northern Irish.

With most legal documents this obviously isnt the case, but risk does not need to legally confirm you are from the country, to represent its flag.

Every argument falls flat, because why shouldn't we be able to call ourselves English, or Scottish, etc.

All country flags are directly from the international standard ISO-3166 (hoping I got the numbers right off the top of my head) - this means that there are regions that might be disputed as being a valid country flag to include (Taiwan being an obvious example, as it's disputed by China) - UK ones are a good example too, states would be another one (US based)

I suggested internally that we look at adding different types of flags, so you can have something like:

  • Flags (no change to UI here, changes are only within the flags page itself)
  • Country Flags
  • Alt Country Flags (this is where Scotland / England etc can fall under)
  • Pride Flags (this falls under the same point you raised, identity)
  • Other Flags (these could be anything ranging from block coloured flags, sailing-based directional flags etc)

If you can fly the flag of 🇦🇶, you should absolutely be able to fly the flag of 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 lol
