Would be nice to see more quality of life improvements like this added to the game
I had a few very impatient players in my lobbies that spammed lets go and add bot. I'm always worried about those players that they just randomly suicide into me, because I did not abide to their need to get the game started asap.
And of course if a lobby is set to 6 players, it can't be started with fewer than 6 players.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of “random” suicides people talk about, have a reason, but an illogical reason like that
I personally never listen to my lobby, staying is up to them.
I also change how many people I want in a game depending on how something fills. If something is taking ages to fill then I will add 2 bots etc.
Would this change mean that if you say you will start with 6 people you cannot start with less? If that is the case then you could be waiting ages for less common settings.
Yes it would mean that you can't start a lobby early. That also means that people that are looking for a 6 player world dom game will join a 6 player world dom game. So the expectation of players joining is set when seeing the lobby.
I understand, not sure about this one as I know I often change the number of bots due to waiting ages for players to join, i'd rather start with 1 bot than lose 3 people waiting for that last person. But that is just me 🙂
This would also work nicely with ready-up in the lobby
If I'm one of those 3 people you'll lose me anyway... I rarely ready up when bots are suddenly added, or the host doesn't listen to remove bot requests.
And that is your right :). If you want certain settings you can host your own game.
I only add bots after waiting about 2 minutes for a 6th player as I know people are impatient and won't wait.
It would be interesting to see what people leave more for, 1 bot getting added due to waiting for a game for a while, or waiting an extra few minutes to get a 6 player lobby.
I think this should be a thing, but feel lobby host should be able to override - also I can't react to your message. Boo.
I think it's because threads must have the same permissions as the channel they are a thread of. Risk ideas can't let people add different reactions, because it could break the voting automation, therefore the threads can't either
You may do it in a non toxic way and give people time to react, but I don't always notice a bot being added when the host immediately starts the game afterwards. Leaving me stuck in a ranked game I don't want to play with multiple bots because someone else did notice the change and didn't ready up.
Readying up in the lobby might be the better fix though
Ahh yes I understand.
Tbh also depends on the settings, for something like classic then they will ALWAYS fill up in less than 1 minutes. Whereas unusual settings I think being made to wait and not override the number of allowed bots could cause pain
I strongly feel lobby size and bot count selections should remain in the lobby. I shouldn't be forced to abandon a lobby to change these.
I do agree that bot information should be included in the lobby previews, when scrolling through games, however. Tired of joining 3/6 lobbies just to see if there are any bots.
@glad beacon this pinged staff role rather than RISK ideas
As there's already votes present I'm happy to leave up / as is
if you'd prefer to repost the idea, the cooldown is already reset as bot has restarted - and it'll now ping the self-assign risk ideas role
if reposting I'll delete this one - otherwise can leave up
I'm not sure why this was a staff ping. Did I post wrong or did the bot derp? Doesn't really matter to me. I think the discussion about the idea is still valid and useful.
