Hello SMG staff. To all those that don't know what it takes to develop a game, could you let everyone know how much detail, effort and time it takes to making a single aspect of the game/"simple change" made? I feel a lot of people want to see this or that done to the game, but they don't understand how much work is required to make the changes. Especially when you only have 12ish developers.
#Time to develop the game

You should post this one to the Ranked Q&A Forum Thread!
It's also easy to miss the time decision making takes. If you would just implement every simple change, you'll end up with an unplayable mess within days.
It’s important for players to understand that their opinions and ideas about the game are subjective too, rather than assume that every other player automatically agrees.
It’s useful for players to discuss ideas, and post and vote them in #risk_ideas so when chances to suggest to devs arise, that they have a clear of what to suggest, that most players actually want.
It’s surprisingly common for players to say things like “How could the devs forget to add [idea only that person ever asked for] to the game im this update?!?”
Also 10 developers I don't think is quite right - we have I think 10 full time staff on RISK - but that covers artists/QA/community/socials - some other staff are across more than one project (not sure of quantities to equate to full time equivalents) but it does mean we've got:
• Collecting as a CSV so we can visualize the feedback better
• Processing ideas into more manageable formats (e.g tag, sort, etc.)
• Review with the rest of the team on standout ones - noting that each update tends to have a theme (like QoL improvements, Introducing new modes or settings)
• Discuss feasibility, priority, alongside our current schedule
• If approved, needs to them be developed
• Needs to be thoroughly tested too
So we often have a direction we're already going, we have a relatively limited amount of time to then add new things
It's a much longer process than a chat about "would this be cool/great to add" - a ton of ideas we already have are, but need to consider the direction RISK is going alongside that
Of course you cannot listen to every suggestion.
But there are 2 annoying features every advanced player complains about.
Should not be too hard to fix those
The fact that I have to ask which 2 suggests there may be more than 2 😂
I really only have one, but wanted to show off 😉
just wanna let you know while we might not fix everything, we are listening
No waaay! God exists!
Exactly 12 hours after my 'complaint'
Devs are faaaast
