#Armor Oddities Thread

@north glade ^ 🤔
There used to be a crossbow or some other ranged weapon of the gold-outline tier that didn't take Runepowder in its recipe, but I'm unsure if that was fixed. I'll just update this thread as I go
here we are
these 3, two are gold-bordered and Delnir's at unique all don't take runepowder. Perhaps changing Blue Cinder Grenades away from gold bordered would be for the best since fireworks are just so-so with their low ammo
@north glade for parity
This is a useful thread for debugging @fallen mesa thanks for taking the effort
it's hard to imagine anyone likes blacksmithing in this game as much as I love it
I did give a pretty big buff to the grenades, they do a lot of fire damage. Also they no longe reload (like they did during the playtest) so you can spam throw them hella-fast. Also the triple shot skill will throw three of them at a time, and the ammo passives help you get quite a lot of them. You can theoretically do about 1200 damage per throw with triple shot, that's without any fire +% bonuses. They dont get +% ranged bonus, only +% fire bonuses applied.
whoa
Seems good! (no bug here, just appreciating the addition!)
XD you earned it
Gee I really went overboard with those numbers. But i figured you gotta basically break the game to get it.
Try the grenades with that lol
not to mention the crafting cost is insane
Btw uh, Lyn the final merchant you can unlock in Rivenbrook completely negates ANY reason to smith your own Quality Metal and Runepowder
her 20 Refined Metal for 10 Quality Metal, and 20 Quality for 10 Runepowder, are so much more efficient than the smithing recipe it's actually kind of game breaking
Unbalanced, maybe not breaking,
But they don’t show up all the time, that’s the point. Right? Or do they?
Nah, but you can just reload Rivenbrook in like 10 seconds so that completely defeats the purpose
maybe they could be tied to the machine's day and rollover at midnight? That'd be neat. Would bring back old fashioned time traveling but it's sorta kinda less exploitable?
I was gonna say limiting the number of trades her special deals can do, but knowing myself I would just keep reloading to get quality despite it being even slower and monotonous
Something to add to this equipment thread, if your movement speed is high enough, dashing is just slower. Is that intended?
yeah kinda, I'm thinking of actually hard capping movement speed bonuses. Or changing movement speed to be a magenta enchantment, not a regular blue one. That way it cost twice as much and is a little more rare
movement speed is very very good and way too easy to acquire
it's VERY common and because it's a non-major and non-unique (i'll just call it a common enchant rarity) the number of points random loot/vendor stock has is usually quite high
So it's not entirely being too easy to enchant onto things, but also the low point-cost and the many kinds of amulets and rings/bands it shows on
Yeah, I think when I get around to adding some new enchantments I'll change it along with a few other balance issues. Another one is elemental damage reduction is way too good
the flat one or the %?
I'm guessing the flat one since the % caps at like 70 right
it's very easy to become virtually invincible to elemental
Takes a lot tho from my experience, slimes and cinders still kick my ass in whitebeard
Though I might not be using the math to my advantage to get really strong
yeah i guess because armor is pretty standard but you can easily forget about elemental
and if you have 0 elemental res, you got pwned
I usually go out of my way to get a torc or amulet with some D:
...neeeeerf
Shoutout to this non-Unique yet unique amulet. Neat flavor, though incredibly weak for when it shows up in game. It's unfortunately numerically weaker than the Ruby Medallion with less enchantability at the same cost
meanwhile, Old Man Jasoor's Sidearm is very cheap but understandably weak from having 1 ammo because, well, it's beat-to-crap as it says lol
I love Old Man Jasoor, Ealam just rocks. better than Otam IMO
It's craftable now!!! :O! awesome addition
