So exploring ruin starts a mini game? Does the time freeze on the main game until you exit from the sandbox?
Exactly, time on your zones will be "frozen" until you exit the expedition mode again.
What Matthias said; However important to note is, that the expedition itself is a mini game, but ultimately the associated ruin and also the completion of the expedition has impact on the "actual" game
Can you enter the same ruin twice?
Interesting to see how it works. And how hard puzzles have you cooked.
There are some ruins that you can enter multiple times. However not particular to solve the puzzle again, as once you complete it, the ruin is unlocked.
But some of them turn into trading posts or resource mines, which allow you to visit more often
Additionally to what @solid tangle said, we'll experiment with backtracking to your settlements. So you might do an expedition where you can't progress until you deliver a certain resource to the ruin that helps you overcome an obstacle. In this case you'll have to leave the expedition and send a vehicle with the respective resource to the ruin.
Yes that's what I was thinking. Also if there is some loot left behind so you can come back later to collect the rest of the loot.
Exactly, that will most likely be the case.
man these expeditions look sick
Will we always start on the same sector then?
Since we can't cross the bridges
Maybe progresssion wouldn't make sense if we started somewhere else? I remember once we discussed how sectors may be specializing in different things
The fundamental progression will always be the same throughout the different sectors, yes. Of course the map generation will still give you a different experience each time since a sector may have a different number of zones and each zone might have different starting conditions and attributes.
so we can start on any sector but not cross to anotehr one?
That sounds like a restart simulator
Especially if the progression is different on each sector
Nono, you'll always start in the sector that has the early-game progression.
ah ok
I am very excited for this game. I still play the original Endzone and still enjoy it. But really looking forward to this one. Will owners of the first game get a discount, or bonus equipment? heheehe, just kidding. But a serious question, will there be an closed/open betas?
We would like to provide access to a closed beta, but this will ultimately be decided once the Early Access comes close. To be eligible for a potential alpha or beta, we aim to chose people from this server who actively participate in the development and show great interest. You can read more about that in the FAQ section on the #1110482181064769607 🙂
that sounds reasonable. Unfortunately I doubt I would have enough time to participate. I can wait til the game is released to play though and will definitely keep up with developer notes. Thanks for the response. Have a great day
