#VIP advertisements

One of the VIP perks states there'll be no ads although everytime you make use of this perk to " skip an advertisement " your instead forced to watch a wildwest advertisement for 5 seconds which is frustrating to say the least.

Edit: people argue that it's a offer but since it isn't skippable and is used to promote paid, ingame content, its the definition of an ad.

Conclusion; Remove the timer so that it's an offer you can click away, not an advertisement your obligated to watch when the VIP perk states there ain't no advertisements.

Reason: The forced timer turns it from a offer into a advertisement. Removing the timer allows wildwest to promote paid products/services while ensuring it isn't an add. Considering the VIP price is $20 which is the price of a good steam game, or a variety of passes on other games (clash royale: $14 - LDOE $12 etc. it'd say this would be a fair change.

as this is considered a "sale", "offer" or whatever you wanna name it, it`s technically not an add. An add is defined as "the activity of making products or services known about and persuading people to buy them". Basically, you cannot consider this an add, as you already use the service in question, aka the game. But an offer on the other hand is defined as (in this context) "a reduction in the usual price of something, usually for a short period".

#

technically speaking, 100% fair game here

A offer can be instantly declined or accepted, the fact it can't be skipped for 5 seconds makes it an advertisement.

" The activity of making products known and persuading people to buy them " is exactly what they're doing.

I bet that if I bought this thru the Google playstore instead of their webshop and issued a refund based on the fact that the item description was inaccurate it'd get a refund.

stitchshrug I'm just salty about the fact They're replacing other advertisements with their own.

Yes they're way shorter but advertisements nonetheless.

The “No Ads” perk in VIP, just like in literally every other game with the same perk, refers to external third-party ads (the kind that usually interrupt your gameplay or force you to watch 30–60s videos from outside companies). Those are completely removed when you have VIP.
What you are seeing is not an “ad” but a short in-game promotional offer (sometimes called as special sales prompt). These are not external advertisements, they’re part of the game’s internal economy and monetization system. Technically:

External ads = SDK-driven, loaded from ad networks. They track impressions, clicks, and are paid per view/click by advertisers.

Internal promos = Lightweight native popups tied directly to the game’s shop system. No tracking, no third-party, no payout per click. It’s simply an optional shortcut.

You can see this across the industry, they remove external ads but still allow the devs to show quick in-game offers. That’s the standard, not an exception.
So yes, the perk works exactly as described: you will never be forced to sit through long, unskippable outside ads. A 3-5 second internal sales prompt isn’t an “ad” in this context, it’s how the devs keep the game sustainable without flooding you with the kind of external ads you’d normally have to skip dozens of times a day.

without vip you don't see any ads either, unless you chose to watch an ad for a reward or smth of the sort.

There are no random or forced ads in this game.

Since ads are an average of 20-30 sec the VIP perk merely replaces third party ads with game ads/offers which aren't skippable until after 5sec.

So it'd say there's a average ad reduction of 15-25 seconds, not a ad removal.

#

If you could click the offer away it'd call it a offer. If you must watch it for 5 sec before you can skip I call it a advertisement.

#

My suggestion would be to remove the 5 seconds before skip or lower it to 1-2 so you can click it away after scanning the add over rather then having to wait for it.

I've had pop-ups for ingame offers as f2p before but none of them had a timer and they could all instantly be clicked away.

I also had zero forced ads before I bought VIP and I played for like, two weeks I think? Before I got VIP I was lvl 30/40 t the time.

I'd say 5sec of in-game offers - whether you call them ads or not - are a good exchange for 60sec annoying temu "advertisements" followed by at least 15sec after-ad clicking through various closing screens.

On top of that, WS is one of the rare games that does not force you to watch ads at all. Let's leave it at that, please.
