Place a room in the middle with every chest and storage. Chests need to be accessible, storage not. Then place an outer ring of walls. Between those walls and the inner ones, place the workbenches. You can access them from the outside of your house, through the wall

I started with everything at max dura and only broke one t5 uncommon pants
Used 16 t5 ointments (some of them wasted in panic), 5 t4 ointments, 8 crackers
I first cleared the normal bandits with the help of a tamed puma or alligator, then ate the special food, killed the 2 lower bosses (knife guy and alligator tamer), opened the bridge, stealthed around some bandits, killed the other ones.
There were alligators hiding in the reeds but i have enough spirit so they ignored me. Once i found the boss i walked back and tamed the first alligator i could find.
