What are the downsides of forming a solo alliance to mine gold nuggets? I see a lot of chatter about getting raided and losing inventory.

That you have to do everything by yourself, collect all resources, pay for raids, do assignments, etc.

nothing, solo alliance produces massive amounts of gold, and only need tier 3 resources to get it going

You don't have a team around you in a solo alliance. Other alliance members can teach you things and it's nice to socialise with them. Celebrating victories together

Pros and cons of being a solo alliance person:
Pros:
•All mined gold is yours, not shared
(You will need to collect your gold in the safe multiple times a day.)

•You control everything (no risk of unexpected mess ups from teammates.)

•No need teamwork, so no risk of drama (Alliances cannot be more simple.)

Cons:
•Raiding and defending is almost impossible when you are alone, so you don't need to pay for defense or attacks anyway.
(solution: stay in low leagues by not joining GR or demote yourself by joining GR last hour so getting raided is a rare occasion.)

•You need to build your buildings all by yourself so you will need lots of T3 materials, the 5K coin cost is there if you wanna be a leader of a regular or solo alliance regardless
(In update 9.0 devs reduced building costs greatly this problem is not as big now.)

• Missing out on some social benefits (which you can get from people outside your alliance, just make friends with good people in game chat or WLS social media.)

•Harder for you to do assignments alone
(solution: Get rookies, they help a lot in getting you reputation points but they do NOT take your gold from the mines, besides sluice box gold buff and trader discount buff are the only buffs you want.)

It depends on the Player tier and level and their equipment. If you are Tier 5 or max tier 6 player this won't be an issue

Even a T6 solo cant play against a T6 actual alliance, my solution of staying low is still relevant. Also key word almost.

Actually, they can. It all depends on the player's strategy and the equipment they use.

If you want to upgrade your buildings to next level you have to participate in gold rush league tho. But yes staying in Lower league will be safe for lower tier player or players who don't want to participate in gold rush.

Why would you wanna upgrade your buildings anyway, high cost and minimal rewards if you cant collect gold 3 or 4 times a day

I pretty sure only some miss to collect their gold if they have irl stuff

Ok i guess i underestimated how active you are, but im not very active so it building upgrades would have minimal rewards for me

A solo t6 player that knows how to raid can take out majority of alliances

Maybe 10-15 alliances they can’t take

Because most alliances don't bother to put many guards, but at the same time those top alliances are disproportionately more active than the rest

Certainly 2 maxed out guards are more painful than just 1

What resources are needed to build an alliance? I know it’s been shared before but can’t find it!

You can count on revenge
It's not that big of a deal

You can win against 7-8 people easily with t6 if u know what u r doing

Im solo since 2024 and i lost 1 raid so far

And it doesn't matter if u stay at lower leagues now
