Since attackers have a huge advantage over defenders it would make sense to add defensive buildings that don't require a defender. And i have a few ideas
Gatling gun: automatically fires rapid shots at a nearby raider
Artillery: automatically fires far away raiders but cant fire at them when near. (Can shoot over alliance buildings)
Landmines: deal huge amount of damage when stepped on and raiders cant see it (damage suggestion would be around 2-3k dmg but armor can absorb some of it)

I dont think that level of automation existed in this era. Its a good idea but the defensive tech needs to be adjusted to the timeline.
The whole idea of alliance raiding is about: the raiding side having high chance of success if the raiding members willing to sacrifice a lot of armour durability and medicine, rather than looking at how to defend better, lets just embrace the joy of killing everyone when it comes to you are in the raiding side he he he
Technically those he mentioned did exist during the cowboy time, which I assume the game time is set at the very late 19th century (given the rifles model name: Winchester 1892 hahahaha) Landmine in usage is documented since American civil wall. Artillery, which I assume that includes all kind of gunpowder canon ball projectile, had been used widely since 1600’s. As for Gatling gun, if I am not wrong, it was invented roughly around. 1860’s and just about 20 years later it became one of the standard armament of a lot of national owned army, even at the far east the new Japanese army after their Meiji revolution
With that being said are there any top alliances that purposely not upgrade their safes so they lose less gold instead of defending alliance? Just wanna know wether that tactic exists in game.

well the automation didnt exist, thats what rumo basically criticized 😉 i'm sure they didnt celebrate christmas + halloween the same way, this game depicts it. so in terms of realism, it wouldnt be much of a pain to include such things. still it would remove a lot of immersion, being able to put up automated guns and arty....unless u change the whole idea into manned def. buildings. only landmines wouldnt need personell in that case
At least defenders don't need to spend rss on weapons to man the defensive building but that defender would still be a beast holding a gatling or an arty
cannons that shoot steel ball like in old movies would be something but it's just a small ranch 🙇♂️😅
Our alliance are not the top but we didn’t upgrade our safe because of the reason you mentioned

At the moment our alliance gold output is 66 daily if we use dynamite, our save max holding remains 20
He he he if I am the defence in charge of the alliance base which armed with canon, I will use chain shot canonball or even bar shot.

Now i have the urge to bring a gatling gun or an arty to bandit outpost and do some war crimes
it's unlikely that automatic guns will be included in future updates. tho
