#Traps at ranch

I wouldn't say they're "bad" they're just not as effective as you'd think. All they do is just serve as extra obstacles to slow down bandits. They end up breaking them just like they do walls or doors. The barbed wire do the most as far as slowing them down and the bear trap thing just hurts them a little bit when they walk over it. Nonetheless I'd say add whatever you can around your ranch just to make it a little bit harder for bandits to get to your stuff but don't expect them to be totally effective in stopping any bandits. Like I said just more of an obstacle to slow them down a bit
yea but it says nothing
about them for real
like the bear trap deals damage
ok but how much?
i know, its just a basic info
will check, i lost my notes about it
I suggest using 3 layers of walls, just straw to start with, then put wood stakes and doors between them. All you need is enough material to slow the bandits down. At level 110 my inner wall is T3 shale and my outer 2 walls are just T2 wood with the doors inbetween as T2 wood. The wood stakes are nice because they can be placed on the floor between walls (sandbags can't be placed on floors, and traps are too expensive to be worth it).
Some people only use 2 layers of walls, I hear that works too.
This is the setup I use...this double wall with the spikes is all the way around the parameter of available ranch land
Only difference with now from back when I took that screen shot a few months ago is all the wooden spikes are replaced with iron spikes and barbed wire. But if I do happen to miss a bandit raid accidentally they never get past the parameter wall they just end up smashing a bunch of the wall pieces.
