Jammed Reality is a direct sequel to Connected Dreams, built with the same style and design philosophy, only this time it is focused on Jammers rather than Connectors. There are 8 puzzles, 5 stars, and 3 purple sigils.

This map should appeal to lovers of the core Talos experience, with level design inspired by Road To Gehenna. The difficulty is roughly that of RTG also, with a couple of harder ones thrown in.

Thank you as ever to the awesome community who have tested prior to release: @elfin patrol, @whole rapids, @chilly trout, @stark hearth, @edgy palm

Playing it now, looks gorgeous πŸ™‚ Only finished carousel thus far

fleet copper
#

Hope you enjoy them! If you have any feedback or questions hit me up πŸ™‚

low hawk
#

Will do πŸ™‚

#

First of all, Rubber Stamper is a wonderful puzzle, the way it looks, plays and the scope and length of it is splendid!
The only feedback I have is ||that it could be hard to see what the red receiver did, and that probably on me because i'm not used to the wall-indicators that you use (and they are somewhat hard to see through that many plasma barriers)||

#

Also, thanks for making it possible to leave the puzzle in just about any state, as I was writing the feedback I had to go back and double check what my issue was and then I noticed that I could leave at the start instead of the end πŸ™‚

Thought I had soft-locked myself in ||claustrophobia||, but there was a ||ladder|| waiting for me πŸ˜„

fleet copper

I got you!

#

Is this laser position intended? ||It felt like I was aiming quite a bit to make this happen||

#

||Really like the way you use this window!||

Why can't I row the boat I found?

fleet copper

#

||Jamming it from Cursed Buttons is intended?||

#

Isn't that from Platform University?

fleet copper

You can help yourself with some cheez in Rubber Stomper & Lockpick the same way as the island star

low hawk
keen glade
#

So much easier to do it with my own jammie friends

Someone doesn't like my jammie friends and set a trap here...

You should have put 4 blue gates here πŸ˜„

I don't know if it's intended solution or not but seems too easy to solve Slip'n'Slide 2 without any slipping nor sliding

They're not invited to this party

They never are but still get their way in

keen glade

Cursed Steps
Is that intended? It doesn't feel like white

keen glade
fleet copper
#

It's an alt I'm aware of but can't really block. It's a physics glitch that allows it because you realistically should be blown off the platform.

keen glade
#

I wasn't on the platform so why should I be blown off?

fleet copper
#

I'd have to see it but I don't see any other possibility since you have to have the left button pressed

keen glade
#

Here you go, my dear Shlam. Simple, yet elegant, hat

fleet copper
#

Did you use elevation from the pool to do it?

keen glade
#

No

#

I used the pool to take a better shot for you

fleet copper
#

I think I see the solution

#

I don't like it lol

#

But I don't think I'll do anything about it

keen glade
#

It's more elegant than that freaky double hat πŸ˜›

fleet copper
#

To my knowledge only 3 other puzzles have used a double hat before so that was the whole point of this one

keen glade
fleet copper
#

Schrodingers Cat, Altar, Platform University

keen glade
#

But if it makes you happy then I'll tell you that once my ghost stole my jammie with double hat by accident πŸ˜›

keen glade
#

Slip'n'slide 2 solved with just proper aiming of 1 jammie - is that intended?

keen glade
#

@fleet copper at least it's slipping & sliding like in the name ;]

fleet copper
#

The original sigil was where the star currently is, but on @chilly trout advice I put the sigil at the halfway point and changed the real ending to be a star.

keen glade
#

But I still doubt it's the intended way as the jammie is just jerking a little

fleet copper
#

Oh, I see what you mean. Then no that's a cheese. I'm aware of it because Nazario did it too, but it's unavoidable

#

||The key move is aiming at the spot where the red laser meets the blue barrier. This sightline puts the jammer out of sight behind the obelisk. Then you can make a simple clock by jamming one of the fans from the back of the puzzle.||

fleet copper
#

Yeah it's unavoidable if people want to cheese it that way, but not the actual solution. As I said though there's only 3 moves to reach the sigil so it's not a hard puzzle

fleet copper
keen glade
fleet copper
#

Very similar to that, if you slightly re-place the jammer then I think it works

keen glade
#

This works

fleet copper
#

You can clock it from either side depending on your pre-setup. My intended way uses the lefthand window.

keen glade
#

Star in S&S2

keen glade
# keen glade This?

I use the window here but the open time is shorter than when using the blue gate

fleet copper
#

You must be using a cheesed jammer because that's not possible internally

#

For the star

keen glade
fleet copper
#

You're jamming two things and there's only one available jammmer. The slip and slide one can't escape its room.

keen glade
#

There are 2 jammies

#

You can use the slipping one here

fleet copper
#

Lol very obvious cheese. Double door prevents it, but I don't have enough spare devices to implement it because rewind will break

#

Could lower it a little too I guess

#

Or add a fence

#

Man, that's ridiculous

keen glade
#

You can get the same effect with the blue gate so the window is not necessary

#

Is the star solved from inside the puzzle?

fleet copper
fleet copper
keen glade
#

Ok, I think I give up on the star

#

The button has to be pressed, right?

fleet copper
#

Yep, button has to be pressed by the jammer which leaves the problem of the red laser being charged. That's the puzzle to be solved.

keen glade
#

Ok

#

Lemme see

#

Ok, done

#

I tried cutting the laser but from the other side so I couldn't find the sightline

#

For the red&blue obelisk- is it enough to use 2 puzzles?

fleet copper
#

Use as much or as little as you can get away with. I think it should take ||3 puzzles.||

keen glade
#

I mean this one, not with the star on top

fleet copper
#

||Both should require 3 puzzles unless there are sightlines I'm unaware of||

keen glade
fleet copper
#

There are only 3 puzzles with connectors in them, so that should make things easier

#

Also, ||look closely at all of the obelisks||

keen glade
#

Oh yeah, totally forgot about the special obelisk with scaled tip

#

You get stuck under the boat

#

That fan is nasty & stupid

fleet copper
#

This is kind of a "stop hitting yourself" situation. The fan only powers on when you collect the sigil from ABOVE. I guess if you fell off the rocks after it gracefully delivers you back to the top then, uh, yeah

keen glade
#

You get stack between the boat and its oar

#

Stupid fan

#

This obscure sightline is not nice because of those stupid trees

fleet copper
keen glade
#

And you have an axe tool

fleet copper
#

Using the cube from nearer to the entrance you can see the pole clearly

keen glade
#

I know, you can see it without the cube too but for me it should be visible from both places

#

At least this blue angle is simple

#

Ok, haven't found ghost, footbakk & MiB

#

& QR

fleet copper
keen glade
#

Give

fleet copper
#

Message in a bottle is at the ||fallen statue||, QR is ||right above you at the terminal|| and football is ||behind one of the puzzles, can't remember which, but it's just against a wall on the beach side||

keen glade
#

Is this star multipuzzle?

fleet copper
#

No

keen glade
#

So a hat

#

Iin the walkthrough the switch is active but when I play it it's not. Am I seeing wrong?

fleet copper
#

It's not actually active, just the game being janky and showing the light. If you got there it wouldn't work

#

Press the four yellow buttons to power the yellow switch

keen glade
fleet copper
#

Yep

#

The fan is powered by ANY of the two conditions it's wired to, not ALL

keen glade
#

Oh, the switch is NOT needed for the fan to function??

fleet copper
#

Yes/no. You can power it with blue light or with four buttons. Both are needed at different points.

#

But not at the same time

keen glade
#

It looks like the 4 buttons (yellow outline) and the blue laser are required

fleet copper
#

There's no real way to indicate ANY vs ALL in this game. But given how impossible it is to do both I just figured people would try the blue and see what happens

keen glade
#

The yellow outline is so bright that it shouts USE ME TO POWER IT UP

#

Uh, you show the solve for the star before the sigil

fleet copper
#

Yeah rather than doubling back

keen glade
#

Wait a second, the switch does NOT have to be active for the fan to be working???

fleet copper
#

Nope, that's the cool part and why I did it that way.

#

I've never actually seen that used in a puzzle before

keen glade
#

I would never call it "cool"

#

Unless you put something to indicate that the power runs even when it's not active

fleet copper
#

Switch is locked on. Just like it was locked off to begin with. I don't see any part that isn't logical.

keen glade
#

It's not logical as when the switch is not active the lights are off telling the player that there is no power

fleet copper
#

Wire is lit up permanently

keen glade
#

I liked every other mechanic in this puzzle but the switch is stupid in its current form

#

So you can cheez It's dangerous to go alone or am I seeing things?

fleet copper
#

Lowering fences only open after getting the sigil. You can't (legally) jam that final door from outside

keen glade
fleet copper
#

Yes, only after finishing idtga

#

The window is closed until you get the still

keen glade
#

But this is from rubber stomper

#

Oh

#

ok

#

Haven't noticed the window fence

#

So why the window fence at all?

fleet copper
#

The non cheese way to get that star

keen glade
#

That? But can't you just use the normal exit?

#

Oh, the jammie is left

fleet copper
#

Yep

low hawk
#

Damn did I overthink "Lockpick" or what hahaha, nice puzzle πŸ™‚

@fleet copper I liked Rubber Stamper puzzle a lot! It was very elegant puzzle!

#

Simple but elegant.

fleet copper
cyan plinth
#

Your puzzles are pretty difficult!

fleet copper
#

Some of them can be for sure! Cursed Buttons and It's Dangerous to Go Alone are the hard ones in this pack

fading dock
#

It's too Dangerous to go Alone not sure is it alt or cheese, ||solved it without last section with button.||

  1. ||On the second section you can hang a jammer with your clone if you jump while moving under overhead cover.||
  2. ||Then use plate to get that jammer on top of you with jump under it.||
  3. || Walk around that overhead cover.||
  4. || Wait here while recording ends and jammed barriers disappeared.||
  5. || Walk to the last barrier with jammer on top of you.||
fleet copper
#

Haha definitely a cheese, but still quite funny so nice solve πŸ˜›

#

I love the intended solution in this one, but with some of the janky physics it's been quite hard to fully defend. Some others have found other alts that use kind of broken techniques too
