When I try to use pm it gives me and mdl error and mdl when I open it gives me this:
Wait. You save animset in pm? Not in weapon model?
It's in the folder inside the player model folder.
I only have a weapon model mdl, not a folder. Where should I even create it though?
Open weapon model and check, if it has local animset, then save it and this should solve your problem

Do you know how I would go about editing this hat?
I have the hat on the player model, but it doesn't look editable. It also disappears in the bmf.
Check children holders
Now find where is hat attached and change hat model on new.

Player model's feet were never made. How do I make them?
Also does this actually require something like Blender?
If you has models for foots then you can add them as children holder and attach to the right bones of skeleton. That all what i can say there. Im not a god of modding
