Not entirely sure yet, but I'm thinking it could work similarly to the Harpy, but they're a lot more stronger and annoying to deal with, how they might be more annoying? idk either, I'm thinking maybe they could latch and give you a blood loss effect for a few seconds.
they do not appear in massive flocks naturally, i also do not imagine them being too common of an enemy, but in the boss fight arena (there is an interesting part where you can control a new biomechanoid Mental has been developing that deploys enemies and land mines, Sam somehow hacks into it and uses it against the boss, you can set up these traps before or in the middle of the fight.) You can deploy a flock of these guys.
in my dream the biomech could deploy gnaars and marshoppers too
and microhoppers? but i think that would be too much, so i removed that part, they practically serve the same purpose as marshhoppers

Eulagat, I like it methinks. anyway, things have changed about it obviously, and in doing that I also changed some lore stuff about it.
Elugat is a strange species, they're mostly always in flight, but when they're not, they live and rest clinging to rocky walls. They're almost completely incapable of moving on the ground, but if they find themselves in a situation where they have to, they can, but it is incredibly unnatural looking and quite difficult for them to go at it for long, making them very vulnerable in this position.
In the air they are terrors of the sky, they are almost a parasitic species, from the moment they are born they contain parasitic larvae in their backs, passed down from ancestor to ancestor, the Eulgat technically lives to spread this parasite and will do it at any cost.
once the Elugat succeeds in depositing the larva in their victims (via expelling the larvae through their mouths into the other mouths of their prey) the larvae will live in that creature like a tape worm, except a little more violently, as it sucks the life out of it until it is an adult, ready to escape.
Thankfully, Sam would never get this thing near him enough to be able to do that, so instead Elugat will desperately try to get him by shooting larvae at him, He'll quickly have to get rid of them before they start digging into his flesh, because they will and can do this if necessary if they cannot get into any orifice in time, they dont survive well outside a body
Thing may be subjected to change, but so far this is what i've come up with
