its both caused by bad connection/desync, except in your case it generally happens on ramps

well in many cases it happens on ramps

that would still be connection/desync

pretty much the only hacks are

• unlimited Shockwave
• high acceleration
• teleportation at the very start of the race
• high top speed
• physics frequency

I wouldn't recommend installing a hack yourself but sure

There are two types of farming.

1. Car is left to race the full distance in TD without human interference and therefore scores some rep pts & credits.
2. Low rated car (Lancer) is entered into race and then aborted during the 'grid walk' before the race starts, this results in driver getting 0 rep pts 0 credits 0 ms pts and -20 series pts.
   I would say the type 1 could be considered 'botting' and could result in a ban. However type 2 is used to simply drop down leagues so as to use a powerful car at bottom end of league giving very good result in each race, maybe this is legal, I hope so as it's what I do. It would be good for GL to clarrify this situation.

Check in any leaderboard event you'll find hackers with unbelievable lap time but this isn't the situation in mp. The top players are probably not hackers cause smart hackers maintain low profile n noob with nitro busters able to reach at top 100 but gets banned within a week.
