Hey guys, I have a post update problem when playing multiplayer. Even though I finish first, time is not recorded and when the game syncs, I am back to the next racer with 0.5 - 1s more time. Unless I run fast enough to outpace the next racer by more than 1s, if the time difference is less than 1s, I always get slower sync.
My network is perfectly fine. Before the update there was no problem. Anyone having the same problem as me?

I have noticed that as well. The waiting time before the countdown starts is a full 30-second waiting time. And that animation before the countdown, that's always a sign that you're not synced with others and a bit of time late.

basically what i assume it is, is that everyone lags in the beginning but on your own screen you don't but at the end you're ahead of what the server is having you at thus you lag a bit

Correct. It's like, you're late at the start, but at the end of the race, when you're a second ahead of the other opponent, most of the time, you will be a second ahead. Other times, maybe less than a second, but still ahead.

This network lag problem I understand, and you are lucky to benefit from it. However I've always had slower sync since the update and have never been ranked higher, only downgraded.

the server is so slow that it shows other racers around 1 second behind what it should be. thanks to this all other racers are actually going that time ahead of what it shows (or you are that time behind what you are shown) nobody should gain from this because it's gl's servers issue but exceptions might happen

the issue is, without constant feedback of which position you actually are in, you end up "playing safe" and taking the safe routes, but then realize that everyone passed you at the end
