Does anyone know why a lot of players in platinum league, or master league start a multiplayer race, in platinum and, or master league with a Mitsubishi Lancer, then they always have a "remote disconnect" by the end of the race? I see it a lot and don't know what they gain from it.

they do it to drop their multiplayer rating, so they can race in lower leagues and grind up series score for rewards without needing to race against more skilled players or those who have stronger garages

series score gain is faster in higher leagues, but by dropping down, you can practically guarantee earning points as long as you have decent skills or a lot of cars

in some cases, people also do this to gain a lot of club rep, as it opens up the opportunity to use certain cars. you wouldn't use an acura nsx in legend league, but dropping to silver lets you use it without needing to worry about b, a, or s class cars
