They were removed as part of a new concept for MP rewards. where all the rewards are in the Series Score. The community voted in favour of it, however we quickly realised it wasn't as good as we had hoped.

After the backlash over their removal, Chris781 said in the most recent Dev Chat that they will be returning next update.

How can 2 identical Max Gold DS Etense's run differently in this Slipstream MP-- more of the question how can the DS running in Shockwave Slipstream fall all the way to last place over another DS only running blue Nitro in slipstream with both cars following the same stream? It's no bug, and if there is anything to fix, it is the nodes we connect to at the game server. You were out of sync in the game, so the game was not showing your true position. All we ban test is our router to a single fixed point within 100 miles of our router usually when using those speed test apps. Those don'tell how our data stream is going from Point C-Z, only from Point A-B. For some reason the EU game servers are giving me based in the US bad connection errors in about 99% of all MP races since 3 MP seasons ago.

If you don’t know then it means you don’t care about opinion of others. There are some logical reasons - and the most important is that it’s good only for higher league players in S-class cars, not for majority in Plat. Difference of 40-140 kmph in ghost slipstream is just too massive.

And as I remember from past experiences there were many races were there was only me in Plat, competing against few Jeskos and SSC’s.

Last MP seasons showed that without league mixing much more players climbed to Legend than before (Windows).

Rep and series score issues is up to GL to fix, not just passing the burden to players from lower league (to feed the legends).

I don't know why league mixing is back at all. I get the idea that league mixing is to enable LL players to race in a "non-empty" lobby, at the expense of Plat players. But the best way to fill LL lobbies is NOT to have league mixing: more players can reach LL and therefore fill the LL lobbies anyways. Another big brain move from GL here.
I really hope that this is just in the early stage of this season and with more players somehow getting in LL, the league mixing will not be there anymore by algorithm

Or just a coding mistake from the devs like forgetting to remove league mixing for this season since the other mp seasons in this update didn't have league mixing

Guys, I played 72 races in multi player classic and 56 in Apollo IE. I only get Cairo once. It can't be normal. We're being forced to play in MP when I only want to play Daily Events. It seems they deleted Cairo track intentionally.
