yeah, that's reasonable. I'll start recording races. I figured it was a known thing. But evidently the real hackers, of which there are many, can just hide behind "you mean bad connection? that's different." it's not bad connection though.

is the game actually wrong about 95% of the wrecks it shows, and has to reconcile them as instant, full-speed respawns? that seems high to me for the game to be wrong that often specifically about wrecks.

i suppose it is possible. but it just seems more likely to me that there's a good amount of instant-respawn hacks out there. seems like probably one of the easier hacks to pull off. but I really wouldn't know.

it's not that the wrecks are wrong per se, rather that their positions on your screen are different from the ones on theirs

they could be cruising in the middle of the road, but due to bad servers or poor connection, they appear to hit the wall on your screen.

the gane then realises that the car is in the wrong spot, and corrects it, making it look like there was cheating involved

there definitely are some cheaters out there, no doubt about it, but reports are often misunderstandings about whether or not someone really was cheating depending on their connection
