the gauntlet sandbag method is that:

process -> during the initial qualification lap, using minimum 3 easy class-d cars with easy to defeat laptimes and submitting it

what it leads to -> opponents defeating your defense with ease while also decreasing your ratings in the process

you will be at the lower end of the leaderboard with players who aint competitive, so easy wins for you as well
while also u can revenge the players who defeated you as well

reasons -> 5x gauntlet Gloves during each of your attack, so u dont have to spend tokens for extra tickets

by the last 2-3 days, u improve your defense to the best of yours and rank up in the leaderboard competitively

in div-5, the gap between the lower end and upper end is high
so at the higher-end of the leaderboard where the competition is high, its tough to win consecutively with 5x gauntlet badges each race, so its to just chill at the lower end of the leaderboard while collecting easy 5x gauntlet badges each race
