my theory is that the game defaults to dx12, which isn't supported on linux natively, so a conversion layer called dxvk must be used, which converts it to vulkan, which linux supports. however, modern versions of dxvk require vulkan 1.3. your gpu only supports vulkan 1.0. so instead the idea is to make the game run in vulkan without the dx12 conversion

okay yeah so i decided to check. hd 4400 is based on the haswell architecture, and according to wikipedia, for haswell on linux there is vulkan support, but it's incomplete. that's probably why the game could get to the "failed to initialize steam" through that portproton thing but failed completely when running directly from steam

linux compilation takes about the same time it does for windows, it’s having to be compatible with a billion different distros that stops companies from making their games natively available

windows easily gets unstable within 2 years, its happened to me 4 times already

since its related to networking, this is likely related to your ethernet/wifi drivers

otherwise a bad network config

or even broken game cache

in which case you can fix that by deleting the gameloft folder in your documents

even another update on my forever loading bug:
its caused by the graphic settings. i wanted to change the settings because i want max performance. i basically turn off almost all settings. when i reload the game, i will get stuck on the loading screen forever yet again. when i delete the graphic settings folder the game will load back normally.

every settings will break the game if i change the value except motion blur (example: changing reflections to OFF will make the game not load next time)

Since the new update, I've issues with refreshment of showroom tickets and sponsorhip. I have to play a race for the tickets number to display correctly. For example, the number of tickets is 0 when I connect on a new day when everything is supposed to have been reset and doesn't change until I play a race (any kind of event), then it turns to 10 as it should be.

The servers SEEMS TO DISCONNECT, Often the game resets by itself wether in an MP race or doing nothing. Its the servers because i would have seen other apps disconnect, and that is not happening. i'm wired 1000/1000 mbps optic fiber

Help! I last played Asphalt 9 in early March 2025 before the Unite update, and I just came back to the game, but I made a Gameloft Club account, thinking I could back up my progress more since Steam cloud was the only thing keeping it alive, but then I saw that it completely reset my progress (I was only playing the game on Steam btw). I'm not sure if it was because of the update, or my inactivity, or the link with the Gameloft Club account, but does anyone have an idea about this, or should I just wait for Customer Care to reply?

It's fine, I actually got pretty far before without that much free stuff, since from what I remember it was maybe 75% grinding and at most 25% free stuff, not sure tho since it's been a while
