We don't actually change up our formations much against the same encounter formation. The formation last used against an encounter could be locally stored to a player's device and pulled up when next encountered. We may move around the units a bit for the encounters with slight randomizations to their formations, such as naval and raids, but chances are, the units will be the same. We may switch up the units if we switch our grinding targets or if units die, but these will be rarer occurrences. Add a "clear all" button in case you don't want anything to do with your last formation, and there will be nothing but profits from such a system

Automatically pre-deploy battle formations based on prior battles
This plus custom layouts would be sick
Not the same. Your idea is more about a list of saved formations that people can choose from. Mine is about automatically deploying formations based on battles. No player actions necessary.
That can just be included in the options in the formation template screen
I feel like it's a given with the idea
I certainly would not have gotten "pull past battle data to auto deploy formations upon loading into encounters" from "saved list of formations", but if you think it should be included in the same thread, feel free to add that specificity to yours. I believe my idea to be much faster and easier to deploy and player saved formations should not be a part of my idea because when automated, all you need is a JSON file with a way to read it. No UI or graphical element needed. Can probably be hashed out in one day
