  1. If there’s an AI…build on the same numbers…there’s a bias for dice rolls to help the AI
  2. If you have ore, try to trade it, the AI loves ore and usually will trade it.

Bonus tip: The report button doesn’t work…so feel free to swear, cuss, be racist, and troll games to your hearts content. The catan team pretends they do things about it but they don’t.

This is not true, there is no bias in dice rolls.

It is so true.

#

i would bet my life on it

Dice rolls are deterministic, they are decided when the game starts, before any ai can join the game (no players have left at this point). When an Ai join, it has absolutely 0 impact on what the next dice roll will be. They are already written.

They are decided even before players place their settlements.

The moment I get ahead of Ai the dice rolls go in favor of whatever numbers the Ai are on and I’m not. Almost every time. There’s definitely some really screwy stuff happening in the background of the Ai games. Placing yourself on the same numbers is a great way to make sure it’s harder for the computer to skew the rolls.

That is not true, the way the game is designed, all the dice rolls are determined when the game starts, you getting ahead of ai doesn't regenerate that "list" of rolls that are incomming.

I’m more frustrated that AI seems to constantly NOT go after the person clearly in the lead. It’s been happening a lot in games I’m playing. Either “for me” when I’m winning or against me when it’s like a 10-2-5 game and I’ve got 5 getting robbed every 7

Stop saying it isn’t true when it is fact

#

I’ll point out the bias in the code if you need me to. Tired of your lying

Always reject the first trade from the AI; it will offer another and then you can usually ask for both resources and get it

The bot only trades 1 for 1

Perhaps it got better since the last time I played with it

@soft geyser you must be new here. Welcome to Catan universe. The game is what it is, but it does have tons of bugs. We all are still playing so whatever that means…

soft geyser
# azure anchor 100% not true. <@1303661261547896904> has commented on it numerous times.

You think you know how things work, but in truth, you're just a believer. I'm a seeker of truth. I've delved into the source code, and I know exactly how the game functions.

Not new here, just tired of being fed excuses. I am not your enemy i am here to answer any questions about the game, for real. You not believing me is just my curse.

Unless @storm remnant is part of the dev team, I probably know more about the program than they do.

They are saying the truth when they say there is no connection between AI and dice, and this can be extended to players. What i am talking about here is different and doesn't go against what they said here.

If one day they said that every dice roll is not determined when the game starts, it would be false. Maybe it's not a lie, maybe they just don't know it.
If they are part of the dev team, they are just covering up their mistake. If they are not, i can understand why the devs wont tell them how the game architecture is an abomination for an online competitive game.

@heady ice try playing a game of Catan over the board. You will notice very quickly that dice do not conform to human expectations. In fact, many of my games over the board seem to have stranger rolls than the online game does.

Cool. I've owned board games for over a decade. A lot of stuff comes pretty close to this app.

Maybe you haven't paid much attention to the dice rolls themselves, and more on the actual game, as intended.

You know you are winning an argument when your opponent resorts to insults.

noble glade
#

That was not an insult. That was me saying that you pay attention to the game and enjoy playing it, and don't focus on the dice rolls.

#

Not sure how you even could interpret that as an insult.

That's great. Good for you.
