#Can't Place, Then Game Switch

Just now, 1pm EST, i started a group game via Edge browser. Oceania. i was first to place. i selected my spot, but no settlement appeared. if i moved my cursor i could hover over other potential spots but couldn't place. i refreshed my screen. when i reconnected and rejoined, i was now in a First Island game, and was placing second. different players. and it appears none of them are connected to this game bc the timer is running out on all of them during the placement phase. 4th person to place - timer ran out on both settlement/city placement - has been replaced by AI. 3rd person's 2nd placement timer ran out, but it's sitting there at full. i'll try rejoinging.

After refreshing the page, there was no game to Rejoin.

yep. multiplayer automatch. it's happened to me a few times in the past. always funny when i rejoin and find myself in a different game type with different players. : )

pc, ms edge. i clear my cache every time i close edge. i'm an IT guy by trade, so if there are any ways i can help out by sharing the experience on my end, just let me know.

  • it was C&K. that's all i really play.
  • though i can't tell you when, i pretty sure that within the past 2 months i played a C&K game that started out first island, then the rejoin was to Oceania
  • when i have to rejoin, most of the time it works as expected. that is i rejoin in the same game, at the same time place/time of the game.
  • as i'm thinking about it now, there are times when i might have a connection issue, so i rejoin. but then there are other times when everyone in the game loses connection for some reason. when that happens, who knows what the outcome will be? sometimes we all come back without issue. sometimes we get reset to an earlier point in time of the same game, sometimes it's a different game with different players. with regard to the latter, that only seems to happen at the start of a game.
